While I generally enjoy Solo(It's my favorite "new" Star Wars film), it became one of my favorite films just due to the nostalgia feels seeing Han and Chewie pilot the Falcon together for the first time.

You can really tell they got a budget upgrade for The Empire Strikes Back with all the new shiny lights and switches in the Falcons cockpit that weren’t there in A New Hope.
Anyone besides me find it odd that the scene from 6:30 - 6:50 that Lucas didn't change the stars to hyperspace for the Special Editions? They're supposed to be in hyperspace on their way to Yavin, as stated by Vader just before this scene. Lucas has edited and added so much other stuff to like every other scene, it's weird that he didn't change that one.
Lucas wanted the cockpit smaller in the last second so they had to shuffle the pieces around. Bigger budget in the next films allowed them to fix the issue

George Lucas was a very ropey screenwriter but he knew how to create a simple and compelling adventure, and make very silly things seem exciting.

Just finished building the UCS Lego Millennium Falcon. Absolutely love this ship...hate that fucking Rey gets it in those shitty excuses for films though.
I just noticed something...those white light strips inside the cockpit line up with each other is SOLO, but in NEW HOPE they dont and also EMPIRE they do! Ha, weird, like the cockpit has been twisted?
The cockpit was built for a New Hope following the production blueprints but when George made the visual inspection he wanted the cockpit smaller. The prop department move the background lower and twisted it to the left side to compensate for the difference in radius. For Empire the built a new cockpit and added extra panels to the roof to make it deeper than the cockpit on A New Hope.
So there was Han Solo, Chewbacca, Qi’ra, Lando Calrissian, Tobias Beckett, L3-37, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO, Leia Organa, Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Klaud, Nien Nunb, two Rebel soldiers, and porgs in the cockpit over the years. Very interesting. Did BB-8 or R2-D2 ever go in there?
I understand Han wanted the outside to look trashy to avoid detection, but how did he destroy the interior? It looks like he took buckets of shit and smeared it all over the walls and floors. Maybe Wookies are messy? Idk
Whenever I watch the scenes of Rey in the Millennium Falcon in 7 I just think, “I get she’s spent her life digging through ships for scrap, but I doubt a 60 year old freighter and the 30 year old shells of massive military vessels have much in common.”

This is of course stupid as air and space craft are more complicated than a basic combustion engine and require detailed manuals. Aircraft maintenance school requires many months ore disassembly and reassembly. On top of that the Falcon was junked up and held little appeal to her. So why would she want to work on it? They explanations are pretty terrible. Had they just made her a regular spacecraft mechanic leading a crappy life it would have worked out much better than as a scavenger.
