      Especially since the Falcon basicly NEEDS a copilot to be fully operational. You just cant reach all systems from the pilot seat.
      I mean, after Han died Chewie was the only one who knew anything about the Falcon. How it works, how to fix it, the "small specials" that any machine has in one or the other way. Chewie is just THE Copilot for the Falcon.

    Han Solo's dream ship is the Falcon because of its disk-like shape that squeezes through tight walls - just as he'd been squeezing through tight situations his entire life. The Millennium Falcon is a reflection of himself.

    Anyone besides me find it odd that the scene from 6:30 - 6:50 that Lucas didn't change the stars to hyperspace for the Special Editions? They're supposed to be in hyperspace on their way to Yavin, as stated by Vader just before this scene. Lucas has edited and added so much other stuff to like every other scene, it's weird that he didn't change that one.

    The cockpit in A New Hope becomes the setting for a sort of chamber piece, creating tension and humour, and driving the story through character in a way that you just don’t get in any of the new ‘content’. George Lucas was a very ropey screenwriter but he knew how to create a simple and compelling adventure, and make very silly things seem exciting.

      The cockpit was built for a New Hope following the production blueprints but when George made the visual inspection he wanted the cockpit smaller. The prop department move the background lower and twisted it to the left side to compensate for the difference in radius. For Empire the built a new cockpit and added extra panels to the roof to make it deeper than the cockpit on A New Hope.

    Whenever I watch the scenes of Rey in the Millennium Falcon in 7 I just think, “I get she’s spent her life digging through ships for scrap, but I doubt a 60 year old freighter and the 30 year old shells of massive military vessels have much in common.”

    • @randallsanchez3161
      @randallsanchez3161 3 года назад

      @@ReySkywalker2 According to the novelization she would sneak onto all of the ships own by the food guy to learn how they worked. This is of course stupid as air and space craft are more complicated than a basic combustion engine and require detailed manuals. Aircraft maintenance school requires many months ore disassembly and reassembly. On top of that the Falcon was junked up and held little appeal to her. So why would she want to work on it?
      They explanations are pretty terrible. Had they just made her a regular spacecraft mechanic leading a crappy life it would have worked out much better than as a scavenger.

    • @ReySkywalker2
      @ReySkywalker2 3 года назад

      @@randallsanchez3161 How is that stupid? Nobody said they were basic combustion engines. Spending 14 years with literally nothing else to do but research into ships and pick them apart, Rey knowing some shit about ships makes sense.
      Rey didn’t want to work on it. Unkar Plutt, her “boss” made her. Remember Rey has to eat, you know. She would do any work for him as long as she got food for it. It was Unkars ship, after he stole it so, again, Rey knowing about the compressor, something she herself installed makes sense.

    • @randallsanchez3161
      @randallsanchez3161 3 года назад

      @@ReySkywalker2 Sorry buddy but complicated engines aren't something you just pick apart without formal training. Plutt never gave her that training but expected her to work on them is a bit sketchy. If she was a full blown mechanic it would have made sense. Installing a supercomperssor on an F16 is not the same as installing one on a turbofan engine. And you would trust some scav that tinkers with engines to fix that for you?
      Had Rey been some indentured servant mechanic it would have made more sense but instead they made her a Mary Sue action girl. She had to be able to kick butt like Skywalker. Oh wait, Skywalker got his butt slapped around and had character growth.
