I re drove the AC version straight after RF2 trial and I can honestly say I’ll never use the AC version ever again and I deleted the AC rip version for RF2 as again it’s not even comparable.
Rfactor 2 in vr is easier to run than ac or not? What wheel are you using? Because I can't find the right feeling with mine, every cars need to be changed in the ffb setting and this bother me a lot
Lorenzo Clara AC is definately more demanding in VR compared to RF2 but both are easy to set up and launch in VR. I do find my fan blows hot air in AC and RF2 its always cool air. I use the CSL elite wheel with either standard rim or mclaren rim. I got my RF2 wheel settings from a google search and it works universally in all cars. I found the smoothing needs to be dropped to 10 or 12, I believe I’m on 10. AC and RF2 are my two fave sims by far, but if I could only have one it would definately be RF2. The ffb, the sounds and the vr are all dialled into my personal taste and the one thing that really bugs me about AC are that a lot of kerbs feel like they are made of ice and you spin off. Compared to real life where you see drivers ride the kerbs with ease in AC the kerbs feel like a banana skin in mario kart. Search in google for RF2 FFB settings and you won’t have any problems. But setting up FFB in RF2 blind is a total nightmare as the options they give you and title don’t make any sense at all.

Looks astoundingly accurate to the real deal. Ever since I played the ported AC version of this track in rFactor 2 I knew its sim engine and tyre model was vastly superior to AC, but it was only when I did a few laps of the real thing that it became overtly obvious. This new version of the track looks like it captures way more track detail and nuance - especially the elevation changes, which are such a huge part of it. Those grip levels you're responding to are very much there in real life. Taking it in a super or track-specced car, the effect of the downforce is much more pronounced than the weird glidy behavior you get in AC.

This DLC is definitely going to bring me back to rF2 for a while, and I've been wanting to try the new 330P4 and GT40MKIV mods too, so that could be a hectic combo with this track - one which they actually raced in 1967 with no barriers on the side of the track because they were insane in the 60s.

Great video thanks. rF2's version of Nordschleife combined with the driving feel of their sim is outstanding. I recently got back into sim racing after a 10 year sabbatical, my first port of call was Assetto Corsa and in the absence of anything else I thought it was great if a little nervous in the handling department. I thought I'd give rF2 a shot when this track became available, wow! The difference is incredible, AC feels like it's very slippery in comparison. Or rather once you've made a mistake you're on ice suddenly. rF2 on the other hand allows you to correct the car in a much more realistic manner. Obviously you can still bin it if you're going crazy but with AC I found that even when driving well within both the cars and my own limits, it's still highly unpredictable, and uncorrectable. For me the most enjoyable driving experience available today in sim racing.
It is definitely worth the money. This version of the Nordschleife really confirms why it's called the "green hell". And it also looks amazing, especially considering the age of rFactor 2.
