- Its Alive! 1st Test drive and rip in my LS3 T56 3rd Gen Iroc-Z Camaro after fresh Rebuild. Things sounds mean! Fitech Ultimate LS 70051 kit first test drive was a success. Worked out a few small bugs and kit has been working flawlessly so far.
Bro when you where spinning on the interstate I was hype right with you haha! Good shit I just purchased my 87 iroc last Sunday!
Good stuff man. That burn out felt so good. Congrats on the New Iroc-Z that's a awesome platform and lots of fun.
Purchasing mine this Sunday!
Just got mines last week
@@Brandon-LSXjust got mine two weeks ago, 1985 z28 with a brand new 383 stroker hyd roller alum H/I with long tubes and a rebuilt 5spd manual. Someday I hope to be able to move up to an ls7.

Lol man I know that feel brotha finishing a fresh build and having it do exactly what you hoped and prayed it would, beautiful car keep it shiny, loud, and fast.
It's a awesome feeling 😎 Shiny, Loud & Fast are my top 3!
Glad u got it going man, felt bad when the first motor crapped out. Minor setback for a major comeback! 💯💯
Thanks Man. Sometimes you gotta learn the hardway but its definitely bigger and better this time round.
@@Brandon-LSX motor it should of came with in the 80s or good old 350 sbc all of em
I felt that excitement @ 8:42!! Happy for you!
That was the best part.
Outstanding brother!!!! I've had 3 IROC Z cars!!!! Seeing this is going to make me get number 4!!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!!!
Beautiful car and build bro! Major props, but please level out the stance lol it’s soooo high in the front end lord have mercy lol
Thanks Man. You don't like the 4x4 look haha. I definitely will be addressing that in my next videos already have the parts.
Iroc LSX I think it looks nice 👍🏼
@@Brandon-LSX i was gonna say the same exact thing lol I guess everyone mostly was thinking the same I see, but the back sits pretty nicely I think so I thought maybe you had a air lift on the front being the lowness that these cars have in the front regardless cuz of the Z28 package and ground effects.
Ya I just installed the stock springs so everything needed to settle. I also lost alot of weight from the swap and it also raised the front quite a bit. I've definitely got the stance right now stay tuned you guys are going to dig it.
It will level out over time once the shocks settle…..I had the same problem when I put a LS in my nova….it literally looked like there was no motor in it….after a couple months and a lsa supercharger it now sits correct
Bro your excitement is so joyous to watch!
Bad ass build. These 3rd gens are coming back into style and a build like this just makes them that much cooler. Just gonna point out that duration of a cam makes it "big" not the lift a 224 duration is smaller that a 232 duration even though the 224 could have 600 lift and the 232 can have 550 lift the 232 would still be a "bigger" can based on amount of vacuum the engine is pulling during idle and power range.
Very nice happy for you .I have a 89 red IROC with a texas speed perf.LS3 ,
Cam lift is 629 / 615 4L80E fully built 2800 stall and a 9" with 410 gears with sticky NITTOs It`s a blast every day driver.
Thanks. That's a nice setup you have there. Man they are a blast to drive. My 9 inch will be here this week I have 411s to install can't wait to get some gears in this thing.
Great job, rightfully proud of your self.
I love the 80s themed music!
Fun time back in them 80's
I love it and your reactions are priceless great build!
Awsome video, glad that you finaly got to enjoy the car on the road, nice work and a truly awsome lookin camaro
Thanks Me to it's been along time coming.
Your reaction when you get on it a little is amazing!
That was the best part I'm glad I caught that on video lol.
@@Brandon-LSX how’s it holding up since the swap? Still a beast?
@@FireinUrEye She's holding up good. I've got about 3000 miles and hard miles at that. Still pulling strong and haven't been beat on the street yet lol.
“I can’t get on it too hard.”
*does 2nd gear burnout* lol
My will power was weak.😄
Nice work. I had a 89 iroc back in 1990 I put a 456 rear auburn posi with a bow tie 450hp roller motor aluminum ported polished heads 632 lift cam tci 3 speed trans with 3500 stall speed converter with the lock switch to act as overdrive, roll bar lowered the car custom true dual exhaust flo-masters with headers rebuilt dash with all auto meter gauges car ran low 11's but my biggest mistake was not installing new wiring harness and dealt with electrical issues msd box worked well but overall going to do this again but as an older guy got my brain wired better LOL and will do a complete resto-mod and design a monster. I was 20yrs old when I did my first car and have owned well over 150 ars since and right now driving 17 c7 zo6 and its a blast so far but loved the Iroc platform, great car, and you have done an awesome job so far. Keep at it man looks Great.
Nice Man sounds like it was a ripper for sure. I got rid of all the engine wiring harness replaced with new. The interior harness has been hacked up pretty good from previous owners. I've been slowly getting a handle on it.
@@Brandon-LSX Nice, yeah take your time and hold on to that car. I wish I kept mine but I was a young guy at the time. I am going to build one soon, but yeah you are doing it right no doubt.. Roll bar 4 point was great for rigidity and over all looks. Lots of aftermarket performance parts for 3rd gen so take the time and build a Beast.. Good Luck!! Fun car no doubt!!
I'm loving it. I definitely get a ton of interest everytime I take it out. Cage with harness bars and good seats is my next upgrade. These seats and seat belts are kinda worthless as you can see by the video haha.
@@Brandon-LSX Easy way to lower that car is just one ring around springs and cut and nice and low can go 1.5 times around and cut but it will be super low but still perfectly drivable
That is so damn clean, wow! Looks and sounds amazing 👍
Thanks I appreciate it. It's finally nice to get to enjoy it.
This gets me so pumped to start my own build
Thanks
I noticed the service engine light was on. I have a 89 iroc I just had the engine completely gone thru with bigger cam, headers and higher psi injectors and all emission junk that killed the muscle cars in the 80's and had the chip done by a company out of Mooresville NC. And my service engine light stays on. Runs good thou. Rally nice ride u have and great engine build. 👍
Love the Car, I literally just found an 89 Iroc today while I was on Route at work. Gonna go make an offer this weekend
Sweet that's some good luck. They are fun cars.
bro thats sick. I applaud you on the build. i hope soon someday to do my own build. thats one sweet ride!!!!
Thanks man.
Love this! My crate ls3 is getting cammed ,heads ported and rings gapped for the LSA charger. My car should of been done years ago but glad I took my time and got and did everything the way I wanted. Thirdgens Rule 🤙
Nice the LSA is going to be rowdy. Definitely worth it taking your time and doing it right.
I have a red 91 formula. With t56. It has a 383 12.5 comp megasquirted. I feel you pride. Nothing better then doing it yourself. Your car looks and sound beautiful. I also live in Minnesota. Get it out and enjoy it before winter comes.
I know winter is coming fast.
I know exactly how you feel when your car accelerates like that. It's those little moments that make life worth living. I hope to make a similar video with my car soon!
Your right those moments are priceless. Tag me in your video when you get it up.
@@Brandon-LSX I'll try to remember! I am just now getting my motor finished, so it'll be a while.
Recently tracked down my old high school car, from Iowa to its current owner in California. An 87 trans am I owned from 93 til 99. It's a f'n disaster. I wanted to buy it back and LS swap it but though I decent with body and paint I am no good under the hood and wouldnt even know where to start. Can't find anyone in my small Iowa town to even talk about it. I wish I had learned more mechanic skills when I was younger!
Nice congrats on tracking down your old car. With youtube and 3rd gen fourms there's plenty of info to get it done that's how I learned.
Nice job!
Looks really good.
Can’t wait to see some videos when you can get on it.
Thanks once the snow melts I'll be doing some action videos. Hopefully I can hit the track this year.
Great build you were very exited woo hoo hoo.
Glad to see it back on the road he’ll yeah
Thanks Man
Iroc LSX that’s a bad bitch bro I miss my 85 iroc tht I had for 15 years
Got my 91 RS .. just doing a lifter, header, cam on the 305 .. for now .. love it man ... Hope to have the feeling like you on that interstate entrance .. keep ripping man 👍👍
Thanks Man. I can't wait to get it out more and hit some cars shows. There will be some cool upcoming content.
@@Brandon-LSX awesome looking forward to it!! Also love the coolent, wiperwash delete ... Very clean look
@@mholla6209 It definitely cleans up the engine bay alot.
the engine looks beautiful in that engine bay. nicely done
Thanks I appreciate it 🙏
With a ls roller lift cam there is no "break in" period. As soon as I first start the motor the rings are bedded in and you can run it hard as u want.
8:40 pure joy
She's beautiful, 3rd Gens aremy preference as well. I sold my 92 rs in 2022 to start on the 5.3 LS swap in my 06 rt magnum wagon with a dead hemi . My 92 was clean and ran like new and all stock except her chrome 20 irocs so she didn't need her 305 swapped for an LS . I'm looking for another black 91 or 92 rs hardtop and may get a proj to use my other 5.3 swap I have . I love the 5.3 motors and all 3 of my burbans I have and drive are 5.3s (03,07 & 2010). I don't understand why I see more fox body stangs with LS swaps than 3rd Gen camaro ls swaps but there are 10k stangs of every body style with LS swaps rolling around or at strips
Nice ride that's tough
Very clean looking IROC.
Thanks Hopefully I can get some better shots uploaded here soon with the hood on.
BADASS!!! Anybody else notice how low the gas and diesel was back then?
The good old days!
Hell yeah!!! 💪🏽
You need to get some red fuzzy dice for your rear view.
This is a sick gen 3!! Great job man! I just picked up a sweet 83 Z28 HO in great condition that had already been swapped with a small block 350. Working on fixing it up with the 350 for now, but want to LS swap it down the road. Hope mine turns out as good as yours looks and sounds in the end!
Thanks Man. It will just have to put the time and work into it. These are awesome cars.
Live from BP!
Great looking and great sounding car.
Thanks you should hear it now with the mufflex 4 inch on it.
@@Brandon-LSX I actually watched the video just now and it's even better!! Just a great car in general.
Congrats. I love 3rd gens
Speed density uses map sensor and rpm sensor.. the vehicle speed sensor will not be effected... awesome car btw.. well done.. just got done rebuilding my ls3 aswell.
Thanks Man it's a labor of love. I was wondering if the speed sensor would affect the Decel open for iding down when stopping or something but didn't seem to affect anything. There's some settings on the Fitech handheld I'll play around with see if I can get it to read correctly.
Yaaaaa maan!!!! I got an 89iroc z justvthe exactly same colors as yours and very clean too I'm about to be ready to install ls3 in it 😜😜😜😜 from Pennsylvania
Nice Man your going to love the LS3 power plant. The 6.2L lays it down.
You should make a coffee table out of the old block. Clean it up first then make a garage table out of it.
That's actually crossed my mind.
Very nice rock and hell of job on build and install couldn't have done it better my damn self
Thanks Man it turned out pretty sweet.
It sure did give had a few that nice but all stock last build was lt1 vette 93 getting c4 zr1 next
I hope that fitech system works well still. I'm fixing to use one for my 3rd gen build
Chingon ese tercerita con corazon nuevo..nada como esa carroceria con potencia moderna.
Sounds good! Thing has some power!!
Definitely a step up from the LS1.
Yea this video is bad ass
Thanks Man.

Sweet! gotta love it, my time is coming, 83 Z28 LS swap. ENJOY
Awesome you'll enjoy it.
fucking badass!!! sick ,clean car

@@Brandon-LSX i know, ive been at mine for 4-5 years and still rocking the sbc...
Nice, dude.
Thanks
@@Brandon-LSX I just got a white on red 91 z28 with a new 305 TPI and trans. I'm going to drive her the way she is for now but an LS swipe 6.0 is where I'm leaning. This is the 5th 3rd Gen I've owned. My first car was an 86 IROC-Z in high school.
Nice!!! Very clean I’m doing genV swap right now to my third gen
Nice thats going to be sick.
Man fix wheel arch gap issue and it's golden.
Ya definitely had that on the list. With the UMI cross member and all aluminum block I shed 180 pounds off the front end raised it up alot.
If you took your springs off at all they just might not be seated in the upper Perch properly. I had the same issue with mine, I put lowering springs on and it actually lifted the front. I went back and they weren’t seated in the upper properly. Now it sits real nice.
Clean build btw, I’m starting my swap soon
@@ast1756 I did have them out I wounder in I didn't get them seated right. I'll have to double check that thanks for the heads up
You had me laughing at 8:33. I got a 84 z28. Ttops, 5speed. 355, big cam, true duals. I go sideways everywhere I go. 😆 mine will have the ls t56 swap someday.... probably the day my 355 or t5 let's go... I'm betting on the t5 to shit the bed first.
That part was priceless 😆 These cars were built to go sideways. The LS is definitely a good choice for 3rd gens.
It looks sooooo good
Thanks Man. I'm glad other people are digging it to.
This is my dream build but in Black and an electronic dash
Black would been nice but the red sure does pop.
Blue black red you can't go wrong
Very nice, where did you get your LED headlights from?
That thing is Bitchin’!!!!!!
Thanks Man
like the 4" lift kit XD
What transmission are you running?
Good shit!!! Im planning on throwing a ls1 into my 89 camaro
Ls1s are fun to. Just upgraded from an Ls1
If you ever want to go for a cruise im always willing to with other 3rd geners. We have to stick together.
I'm down forsure. I have Minnesota Fbody FB page. I've been doing the coon Rapids cruise and trying to get a 3rd gen cruise going.
@@Brandon-LSX I dont do Facebook but my weekend are always free to cruise and hangout with fellow car guys. My son would love to see other cars. He is more of a car guy then me and he is only . Let me know when you guys have a get together i could swing by. I live in St. Paul. Have a good one.
great job man! it's always a good feeling on something you built. is your EFI not tied into the car obd? get rid of the SES bulb if not. and a short throw shifter will improve the driving experience. man i miss my camaro. too nervous to drive it around with all the wacko's out there.
Thank you. Ya I agree short throw shifter would be nice. I also do need to get rid of all the warnings lights on dash.
That’s really really nice
Thanks I appreciate it.
This thing is nasty 😷 you did a amazing job
Thanks I appreciate it.
Would love to send some pics but I do not know how.. LOL
Not sure you can on RUclips unfortunately 😕
Is that the Bill's off East River Road in Champlin?
Yes it is good eye.
Good job bro!!
Thanks man.
daaamn brother, got that lift kit on the 'maro?
Right haha definitely got that stance sitting alot better check it out on my new video.
bad ass video brother
Thanks Man.
Those rings seat within 60 seconds of running..
Yo, your up in Brooklyn c somewhere eh? We will def have to meet up sometime this year. I've got a 84 z, built up nicely. Nice street car. Buddy has a 84 z also, resto, very nice cars. Be 3 mint zs lined up.
I'm down to meet up man. I've got a local Facebook group called Minnesota F body's we are getting some meets going this year. Also want to get some 3rd meet up and get some cool RUclips footage.
Love it
Thanks.
How long did the swap take? Did you run into any problems?
Man I want to go T56 in my 88 Monte Carlo SS so bad lol
It's worth it!
Oh yeah I know but getting the T56 will be hard with prices right now and growing kids at home. So far I have the 5.3 with wire harness and computer then tax time I’m buying the Holley Hooker Headers LS G-Body swap kit and after that the polished aluminum Hi-Rise LS intake and BTR Camshaft kit. I’m praying I do find a good T56 that’s affordable but if not I’ll just have to use a 4L60E until I do.
Badass !
Thanks Man.
This is sick man. Question is it lowered? If so how’s the exhaust clearance? Wheels what size and width front and back? Did you go with long tubes also?
Not lowered stock height. I'll probably drop the front 1.5 inch this winter. Have plenty of clearance with exhaust. Running speed engineering long tubes headers.
Iroc LSX cool thanks bud. Deff seems like from the research I’ve done those headers are the way to go as the don’t give the clearance issues like other ones do when lowered. You got an ig I’d like to give you a follow.
Yes speed engineering are hard to beat and there affordable. Don't do IG sorry don't have enough time to keep up with it.
Did you have to use sub frame connectors since the car is a T-Top ??
Where did you get the motor mounts for the swap, im gonna start a LS swap on mine soon?
There UMI adjustable motor mounts. Summit has them.
beautiful,if only i could afford the $10,000-$15,000 to ls/t56 swap my trans am
It definitely adds up quick.
Sweet doom soundtrack lol cars great
Awesome car man! I’m looking to sell my two camaros I have and finally get me the third gen I been wanting for years.
Thanks. 3rd gens are pretty awesome. They have great body lines to. I would love a 1st gen Camaro but there out of my price range.
Iroc LSX Yeah my dad had a 69 Z28 when I was a kid. Very nice cars. But something about the third gens caught my eye when I was younger. I guess being born in the 80’s helped that cause too lol.
nice car man 3rd gen classic red with polished Iroc wheels I want to get My 91 RS upgraded, the vision is Ls6, TKX 5 speed, GTA dana rearend,. I was wondering why no one uses the TPI front mount airbox? not a big fan of the straight pipe CAI, I would rather have an enclosed airbox taping air from infront of the rad with tapered intake boot for volisity
Nice that sounds like a fun build man. Yeah I wish I could run the stock tpi cold air return. Unfortunately the LS3 would lose a good amount of hp do to the restricted flow. I wish someone made one with a 4ich tube on it that would be awesome.
@@Brandon-LSX everyone and their brother has a 3D printer these days someone could scan that stock part tweak the dimensions and print one out in the day with the ram air ducting and all
@@paulburkey2 I would buy one!
Nice Build... I can't get on it too hard because it's a brand new engine Lol.
Thanks. I couldn't resist 😆
Your car just called me, and it wants it's lowering springs. It wants then NOW. It wants them BAD. Also told me it will blow it self up again if it doesn't get them ASAP. So, just a heads up bud.
Definitely 😄. We'll I finally got around to the 1.5inch drop springs up front. Definitely sits alot better now. It's in the other video on my channel.
Bad ass car bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I’m in the market in buying an iroc-z what major things should I look for when purchasing one? I also want to do an Ls swap on in the near future. 💪🏼
Thanks Man. We'll if you plan on doing a swap in the future I would say the most important thing would be a clean body/paint to start with. Makesure the floor pans are solid and frame is straight and go from there.
Thanks bro an for Ls swap references I’m subscribed to ur channel for info on the swap
Appreciate the support if you have any questions let me know.
Thanks bro I sure will hit u up
Sweet iroc. I just bought a 85 iroc and am looking to do the same thing. How much hp you think that ls3 is making? What size wheels are those?
Thanks man. My guess on hp is probably 460 to the wheel.
@@Brandon-LSX is there a better way I can reach you to talk about your build in more depth and pick your brain for a couple of questions? I would greatly appreciate it and it would give me a sense of direction on my build
Yes go on FB and Join a group called Minnesota Fbodys. I'm the admin.
Looks like the front end has a lift kit....
😄 Yes that's already getting figured out stay tuned for next video.
Nice. Good setup. You going to lower the front end down at least an inch? That gap up front between the fender and tire is huge!!
Ya it definitely needs to be dropped some. With all the weight savings up front I shed about 180lbs off the front. This winter that first on my list.
Iroc LSX Cool. Yup yup. Mine raised up a bit when I put the new 406 in it and moved the battery to the trunk. 180 pounds is an awesome amount of weight to loose. Good job. This winter I want to figure out a way to pull out about 100 pounds out of the car so I can offset the upcoming roll bar setup and it’s weight. You built a nice car man. I know the feeling of that first drive and the satisfaction! Good job
Thanks man appreciate it. I plan on putting a small harnesses bar back Cage this winter.
This car is so sweet inside and out. Did you do the work yourself? Sounds amazing too
Thank you yes all the work was done in my garage. Was a great learning experience and my first build.

Perfect Clean Camaro
Gotta love ceramic coating!
@@Brandon-LSX What product do you use?
Hey man did you leave the stock fuel tank in it, if so do you have in tank pump?
Yes running the stock fuel tank. I'm using the aeromotive 340 intake pump hooks right to the stock se ding unit. You will want to use braided lines that can handle the psi instead of stock system.
@@Brandon-LSX Alright sweet thanks man im gonna get that for my build
Sorry I didn't understand, how many horsepower your Iroc-Z is now?
Probably around 460 to the wheel.

That thing needs to be lowered but awesome build... I want to do one
It's in the works now. The front gap is definitely hideous lol.
i lowered mine, stance is killer but its fucking annoying to drive
where did you get the T56 and what mods did you make to it?
Picked up the T56 from Facebook marketplace. Its a little noisy in neutral but every thing seems to work fine.
That is a beautiful build it’s getting me back into working on my swap
I’m using the fitech as well have you messed with any of the settings iac or no?
Yes I've had to adjust and set the iac steps. I've been thinking about making a video on the process since there's not much out the on the LS system.
Iroc LSX oh nice
Yea I was having issues with mine not staying between 3-10 and I was having a really bad hanging idle then it started bogging on me really bad when gassing it
So I got a new computer hopefully I don’t have that problem
@@lsxfirebird5580 I was having similar issues. My iacs would jump around after I set them and my idle would be high after driving. I was running a cheap throttle body and that turned out to be my issue. I installed the fitech 92mm throttle bodys and car idles and runs great now. I would recommend using the fitech 92mm throttle body designed for the system if you can't get your issues figured out. Also make sure your tps sensor is reading 0% when setting iacs and make sure to turn idle set mode to on with handheld to lock in tps to 0%.
Iroc LSX
Yea I’m using the 92mm they sent me with the kit
Cool I’m gonna try to do those steps I lost all interest after I received my new computer but seeing your video really makes me want to get it going again
@@lsxfirebird5580 OK try this. When I first got my fitech throttle body I couldn't get my iac steps set properly. Everytime I turned the screw the tps % would increase and the iacs wouldn't drop below 50. If you look on the throttle body the TPS sensor can be screwed in to 2 different locations. I actually had to remove the tps rotate it slightly then screw into new position. After I did that my iacs and tps% would drop down in range then I could set it properly.
What's the tire size on 18" Iroc Rims? 245x 40 18 or 245x 35 18? Thk
245 40 18
