Thank god there's not a full on Spyrer warband i'd have gone for this system then. Better for the pocket book. About time they brought back the Spyrers.
Since they said this was a “Dungeon Crawler” I think this is going to be a box Similar to Space Hulk, or Kill Team: Ashes of Faith. This will have the rules for the Spyrers, as well as Specialists for the other gangs (This is including Just van Saar) . So in the game proper, there will be Spyrer Gangs, Specialists for the other gangs, and an updated Genestealers Cult gang with Purestrains as their Specialists. But in this it is a Hybrid Spyrer + Van Saar, vs Gene Stealer Cult.
In the GW video at 0:55 I noticed an achilles ridgerunner. The last part of Ruins of Jardlan mentioned a convoy going down the underway. I wonder if those are going play a part, of it was just scenery. I don't like it being a paper mat instead of cardboard tiles, but I'm probably going to get it anyway.
It sounds like it's going to be more of a Blackstone Fortress, PvE style than normal Necromunda. You've got Spyrers and Van Saar with different goals and the Genestealers are an environmental hazard rather than a playable faction.
If it is not too $$ I might get 2 sets. It seems a few small steps to make this setting into a warhammer quest style game. Hopefully the current walls and columns fit into the paper mat areas.
Brood scum is an ok upgrade. But the vaan saar look great not the biggest fan of the paintjob gw did on the genestealers faces butvthats me sculpts look great though
I think they have hit the mark with necromunda to make it better again and the return of the Orrus spyre hunter's good thing about that is there not good or bad guy's there both plus I wonder what's the genestealer cult gang look like and new plus update gang's books
Surprised they bring a new Hardcover Rulebook so close after bringing out the thick one. Will the rules change? Or is the new thing in the new rulebook basically the Hive Secundus campaign?
the Models looks great , the box set is garbage , compared to what they have given in sets with terrain in the past and the expected price point this is not going to sell well

Love that they go with zone mortalis again. Easy to transport, beginner friendly. Just what we need to actually get players in.

The idea of using spyrers as special boss models for each gang in this scenario is a great way to bring the concept back.
Extremely excited by that Van Saar team, the aesthetics of the base team is a bit too clean practical/tactical but give them some capes? Sign me up.

Looks like just a starter set that will be way, way over priced for the value of a paper mat, soft cover book, and almost no terrain.
Hopefully, the price will be lower. But who knows, we'll see soon :D
