I bought the R version. Absolutely love it. To me there is no better motorcycle to ride. It's like riding a rhino with power that runs like a gazelle. Fast and smooth. A fantastic bike.

Under hard acceleration, do you feel slight shaking? Road-tested one yesterday and it would shake a little under hard acceleration. I assumed it was the traction control kicking in, I was in Sport mode.

This gent celebrates the English language in his narratives, as well as staying with only that what is pertinent to the subject. A breath of fresh air I enjoyed from start to finish. Kudos my Aussie brother. Being unable to walk or stand very well hurts worse knowing I can't saddle one up. If not for that I'd have one tomorrow.

Couldn't agree with you more about the professionalism of this presentation. The narration was spot on and his enthusiasm came through in a big way.
Good news for you is that the motorcycle industry has so many exciting products for the older physically challenged rider. Ural sidecar or any hack can very easily get you back on the saddle. Harley_Davidson Tri-Glide is a very attractive model. And there are plenty of trike fabricators out there offering both traditional trike layouts as well as the avant guard "reverse trike" style. Of course there also the Auto-Cycle class which includes the Polaris Slingshot, Vanderhall and the classic Morgan 3-Wheeler.
What intrigues this 58 year-old-man is The Tilting Works front end set-up. This is a reverse trike type has a front end that articulates and closely mimics the traditional 2-wheel motorcycle but offers the stability of 3-wheels. Tilting Works even has an option "no need to put you feet down lock" position for when the rider has to stop at the traffic light!
If you are on a budget, (and these days who isn't!) look into MTC Voyager Trike Conversion kit. Best bang for the buck.
Good Luck and hope to see on the road. Remember, it's not what you ride, it's that you ride!~GeneralT

I bought the 3R a year ago and have now installed the GT seats and sissy bar, forward pegs, handle bars with heated grips. quick shifter. bluetooth and small wind shield. I'm by no means flush with cash but my wife let me buy it and worked hard and paid it off in 1 year. I recently had an exhaust specialist work on my exhaust and now it sounds like it should, brrrapp. I couldn't be happier with it. I am thrilled every time I ride it. I ride mostly in rain mode because in sport mode it accellerates way too fast lol. I put it in sport mode if I'm feeling gnarly and leave everything in the dust.

I was going to comment that it probably doesn't handle well, because of the mass of the engine being so high above the axles, but I saw how you could throw it into the turns. Difficult to believe, but very nice. Great looking bike, too.

Great review....just ran across this on you tube. My son has a 2020 Triumph Rocket III GT. It has been a flawless bike. He now has over 10,000 miles on it. You can't describe in print or video just how impressive the power and torque are on this bike. In addition, it has one of the best stock seats on the market. Every now and then I'll hop off my 2019 Goldwing DCT (non-tour) and get on the Rocket when I need to elevate my heart rate just a bit ; )

Great review. I purchased a used 2020 GT 3 with 334 miles. Actually, I won money in Vegas and after getting back to Dallas I bought the bike. The price was $17,250 out the door with tax and other charges. The bike appears new. Not a scratch. I'm 68 and I'm keeping my Rocket in my Man Cave. I have other toys as well. I love this machine. I have owned 32 bikes since 1970 incuding 2 Boss Hoss bikes. The Boss Hoss, although big and heavy, could not out accelerate the Rocket and are not well made. More home-made in quality. Triumph is top notch.

Ive just bought a 1900 Yamaha Roadliner. I considered Goldwing, Electra Glide, Rocket 3. I have a zx14r as well for long distance sporty riding.. So I live in the WA wheatbelt where a big motor two up with comfort is at home. I sold my 18 yo 1500 Nomad and imported a F6b from Queensland. ....say Hi to Team Moto Brisbane...The ergonomics of that and the horrendous wind buffeting....despite adding a higher screen ....made me loathe the thing. I tried to trade it on an Electra glide but it was on consignment at Albany Harley. At the time they had no second stock. Anyway I swapped f6b for a low mileage Roadliner. It is 50 kg lighter than my old Nomad and the front gives precise control at low speed instead of wobble wobble wobble....especially with a passenger. Now here comes the revamped lighter Rocket 3....of course I want one now. The way massive motors transform a cruiser is unreal. No effort long striding. Plus the technology that reduces the weight and makes them so balanced. That Rocket 3 takes the tech to a new level. Ive had Triumphs and the engineers have always known what they are doing. The competency is obvious. I did not like the motor on Triumphs big cruisers as I test rode some. The handling and finish however is excellent. The Wings and the 1800 BMW restrict legs with the horizontally opposed motors. I had a triple 995 Sprint which had the torque of a vtwin but more top end. Ive liked Triumphs since I rode a high compression 1965 Bonnie in 1972. At the time it felt like a Rocket.

I’m pretty picky about how a new bike is designed , everything the Brit engineers and designers have done on this bike is top notch ! The only accessory I would put on this bike that could be removed quickly would be a passenger seat and sissy bar for two up ridding ! It’s a masterpiece !

Excellent bike review mate, after having VMax for a summer and the thing nearly kicking me off at nearly every fast corner, then Kawasaki VN 1500 I certainly missed the torque. Not liking the look of the 2300cc version of the Rocket, this beast has the lot, monster torque and stunning to look at and until your road test not sure how it would handle but you put it through some fast corners and it was a breeze for such a monster, nothing out there that can compete on looks are torque absolute beauty definitely treating myself life’s to short n too.

One would think Triump would build a full out touring machine with choice of fairings and latest electronic doodads based on the very potent Rocket III platform to take on Harley-Davidson, Indian, Honda and such, since the engine and chassis components for such a bike already exists...probably with some engine tweaking for more torque at lower rpms. Triumph would garner a sizable segment of the touring market with such a bike.
