Quite a few years ago at a bike show at the NEC Birmingham UK there was a cool looking bike with a huge stars and stripes tank on it, but the engine underneath was a V8, they didn't fire it up, if I could find the pic I'd link it but I bet it was loud. There was also a custom Bandit with full Hulk livery all over it in a cage with chains holding it lol.
This is how the motorcycle bug bit me also! I wasn't. and one day I was. Got my license and did my MSF course. Now all left is to get a bike and practice!

I bought a brand new BSA Rocket 3 back in 1969 in Ontario Canada, it cost me $1800.00. I believe it had 58 h.p. and I thought it was snappy. I started off with a 1959 Ariel Square 4 which was very smooth and I thought quick back in the day. I can only imagine what that new Rocket 3 is like.👍👍

I can’t remember how long I kept it but I ended up selling it and made nothing on it. Today it would be worth big bucks. I’m not sure which year I bought it but it was approximately 1965.
An underappreciated work of art. With the 3, they've hit the mark. Just as it is, it seems like it can easily be a daily do-it-all. And always a treat to look at and listen to and hop on. We all need a bigger garage.
If i ever win lotto, im buying a shed, a bunk bed, building a bar, pool tables, darts, bike lifts, tools, and at least 20 bikes, that i absolutely MUST have.
I’ve got the 2020 R and have to agree the front end is harsh on the bumpy B roads of the UK. Aside from that they are an amazing machine, the engine and balance of them is wizardry !!

If I ever get bored of my 1290 Super Duke I think this is the next logical upgrade. More manufacturers need to start mixing things up instead of pumping out the same engines.
I think you should buy an MV Brutale 1000RR. That is the logical progression from a Super Duke. You can't wheelie a rocket AND retain fork integrity...
To keep the pegs from scraping the ground, I would shave off 1" from the pegs and that should allow the bike to take harder immediate corners or sweeps while mountain carving...

I'm not a fan of the engine or exhaust sound, bigger doesn't mean better and it sounds "puny", but my _god_ this is the single best looking cruiser I have _ever_ seen.

Love my 3R, haven’t remapped but maps really well to more like 180rwhp, first 3 gears limited to 70% throttle, Rev limited in two top gears. Don’t need anymore. Tour with mates on cruisers, retros and hypers. Great cruiser/roadster 😎

For me the test is what distance you do and the purpose of your purchase. I have an upright riding BMW (R1250R), can ride all day. Had once a Suzuki GSX750, superb bike to ride, excellent handling, but had enough after 1 hour (arms ached). Had a previous BMW and truthfully rode from Hertfordshire to Skye pretty much non-stop save for fuel and eats. Bike did not miss a beat. The Rocket offers an upright position, but it looks like a missile one sits on. What is is like for maneuvering around a drive or in a garage.
I managed to get one of these in Ireland . Only 2 made it here into the north. I love it !! Nicely done Dan. The keyfob thing happens fairly regularly i find it's better in a top pocket. I even tried changing the battery. Always make sure you turn the fob off when you aren't riding it to save battery. I agree on the gt position. R is more comfy for me. I haven't really got used to the heat of the engine at slower speeds on warm days in the city. Very hot on the legs. I put a black screen on mine and the single seat pillion conversion. Will get the heated grips and tyre pressure sensor added at first service.
Fab motorcycle but how about doing a polished alloy version .......brown leather seat and luggage packs, oh and a bigger main clock ( Vincent style ) . Love to see that as a factory option.
I had a T160V back in the day. Bought new, it cost me £1360 in 1977. One of the Saudi export models. Wish I'd hung on to it.... Watching this video has made me want another bike after 34 years away!

The keyfob just needed a new battery. It was the same with mine when I picked up a new Rocket 3. You can turn the fob on and off and people forget and leave them on too long. Ride the R a decent distance (250 miles) on a day trip, and you'll want the GT.

I’ve always said the engine size doesn’t matter for a first bike it’s the size of the bike that matters. You don’t want a big bulky bike to learn on but a big engine can be fully controlled with throttle and clutch control.
Holy crap….165 HP at 6K RPM and redlines at 7K. Back in the 80’s I bought a 120HP Honda V65 (still have it….my wife piled a bunch of crap on it in the garage to discourage me from riding it….so I showed her, I bought a Harley) and thought that that was crazy horsepower. I’ve been on bikes all my life and my favorite was a ‘69 Triumph Bonneville…so I dig Triumphs.

I have the GT version added a quickshifter on it its a 2020 model bought it use with only 1800 km on it so almost new its my 3rd season riding it and boy do i like it so fast so torquey im still smilling when i ride it and its get attention from everybody on the road get thumbs up all the time or people come to me to ask question about the bike alway asking is it a 6 cylinders (no its a 3 cylinders) and dont forget this year the 2024 Harley CVO are 124 cubic inches and the Rocket have 153 ci just saying , you got alot of bike for your money. Those Rocket3s are so much fun. I try it once and could not take smile out of my face. Heavy like a horse, but what a ride! I did ride the BossHoss, but the Rocket3 is on another level. Much more fun much less scary.
I rode a Rocket lll Roadster for a couple of hours 10 years ago. Despite it being a fair bit heavier than the one you're on, it didn't feel heavy. Light on the move and light to pull off the side stand. At the time I really wanted to buy it.
My first car was actually a truck my Dad bought for me. A Chevrolet S-10 with a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine. He bought it so we could tow a boat to Canada from Ohio. This bike has the same power to tow a boat to Canada!
First thing I got installed was the sissy bar / backrest. Happy wife (or girlfriend), happy life! Then tail tidy, blinkers, DNA air filter, next will be the Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde exhaust once available. Then on to the dyno and get a custom tune for it. For the future, we might be looking at the TFC's titanium valves and the TTS Performance pistons. And another custom tune in that case. ;)

There is a company here in the US that tunes them to 265hp at the rear wheel with insane torque.

I rode a Rocket lll Roadster for a couple of hours 10 years ago. Despite it being a fair bit heavier than the one you're on, it didn't feel heavy. Light on the move and light to pull off the side stand. At the time I really wanted to buy it.
Wish they would do one of these al a Goldwing style, i for deffo would be interested. I have a 2020 GW at the mo.

My first car was actually a truck my Dad bought for me. A Chevrolet S-10 with a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine. He bought it so we could tow a boat to Canada from Ohio. This bike has the same power to tow a boat to Canada!
Lol what was it a canoe? Those trucks were so weak and had zero rear traction. Don't compare that pos to a wonderful machine like this.

This might just be the best looking bike ever in my opinion
First thing I got installed was the sissy bar / backrest. Happy wife (or girlfriend), happy life! Then tail tidy, blinkers, DNA air filter, next will be the Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde exhaust once available. Then on to the dyno and get a custom tune for it. For the future, we might be looking at the TFC's titanium valves and the TTS Performance pistons. And another custom tune in that case. ;)
I dream of buying my first bike and it being a triumph.

love the bike just the weight scares me if if you make a mistake and drop it youll need a crane just to get it upright again
