  • 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 | Top 10 Best Bits and a few not-so-good bits.
    Having spent a bit of time with the new #Triumph #Rocket3 GT before, during and after lockdown as well as ridden the bike on the press launch in November 2019, I've got to know the bike well enough to point out what makes it so unique, as well as those little niggly bits that aren't so great.
    Here's the link to the full review including videos from the model's introduction at Triumph HQ (and an interview with Head of Brand, Miles Perkins) and from the press launch in Tenerife: www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial...

    Picked up my new Rocket GT last week and put 400 miles on it. The only fly in the ointment is that the list of devices that are compatible with the $900 bluetooth module is extremely limited. The only two Android phones are the S8 and S9, both of which have been discontinued by Samsung. My headset, the Sena SRL Neotec 11, is also not compatible. The dealer, Mosites in North Versailles, PA has refunded me both the price of the bluetooth component and the labor involved in installing it. Excellent Customer Service at Mosites. Triumph After Sales in Atlanta was very supportive and coordinated with the dealer. In addition, they are going to escalate the problem with Triumph UK. Be careful if you need the bluetooth! Otherwise, its the best bike that I have ever ridden!

    Hello! I am curious about one aspect of the bike and that is the open rear tire. As someone who has ridden through my share of rain and sloppy roads I was wondering if you experienced lots of wet and slop being kicked up off the road and up your backside since there is no fender there to slow it up. If there was one thing I would change it would be to add a full fender on the back. Thank you for your review.

My dealer has one GT and every time I am there, I can not stop looking at it. It looks like an artwork. The engineering, the craftsmanship, the details, can put many to shame. I need to ask the dealer to test run it for a long hwy/city run. I am 6'4" , 34" inseam. It can make or break for me.

      No flaws at all except stiffly sprung suspension that will give you a jolting ride over bad bumps on a second rate back road. However this is pretty much par for course on many large cruiser or power cruiser type motorcycles.

      @bennettsbikesocial  4 года назад +2

      Helen and I did about 50 miles on it the other day. As the rider, I'd say it handles incredibly well given its size, but it's hard to turn around, and even coming out of blind junctions is a bit of a challenge given its ponderous turning circle when you're two-up.
      Overtakes are of course awesome, but I found the bar vibration started to get a bit tiring after a while. The suspension is also clearly (and unsurprisingly) having to work hard to manage that weight, and over bumpy Fen roads it can literally kick you out of the seat - I was launched a good six inches out at one point, to the accompaniment of a scream from my wife, Helen. At this price, I'd have liked to at least seen a semi-active rear shock to help deal with the mass of this thing.
      Helen loved it at first, but mainly because she likes to show off. By the end of the ride though, like me, she thought the novelty had worn off, especially after a pounding on the back roads; it's always worse for the pillion as they're over the rear wheel.
      It's an incredible machine, but I think the Grand Tourer label is pushing it; wind blast, vibration, weight and suspension would make it a tiring long-distance bike, especially two up (and you've not got much storage space in those soft panniers and the 3kg-capacity rear rack).
      But if you're not going to be doing big tours, it is still a stunning machine. Horses for courses really - personally, this wouldn't work for me as my only bike, but for reference, my three are a BMW S1000XR, a 1999 Kawasaki ZX-6R and a custom Honda Grom. Cheers, John

      It's not that it's not possible, by any stretch, but I can think of more enjoyable two-up machines. Depends what you want to do with it really... I'd always recommend a test-ride for yourself of anything that tempts you; all we can do is point out things to consider. John

    You are way too concerned with what people think and what they say. That's a personal insecurity that you have. I'm watching your review because I'm interested in purchasing a comfortable cruiser with style that I like and I don't care what anyone else thinks about my choice.

    This is a rad bike but I think Triumph has been to cleaver with it with electronics and keyless ignition, sometimes less is more on a bike like this and the guys that are going to buy it will be older and don't want all the gizmos. Tc, abs and cruise control is all it needs..

    Over £20k for a bike is taking things too far. They are pricing the everyday motorcyclist out of the market.

      To be fair, this isn't an everyday motorcycle. Here's a more affordable one... ruclips.net/video/yY0WHWrYOb0/видео.html
