I hope this does justice for the screwdriver from my older video on it. Also, I know the screwdriver is mainly used for healing, but drill juggling is honestly my favorite part of it. Unfortunately, alt revolvers are a fraud, the alt piercer's piercing shot doesnt do more than 10% extra damage compared to normal piercer's piercing shot, you can also see the fraud the alt sharpshooter is by shooting the ricoshot vertically, to a Guttertank, the alt sharpshooter leaves the Guttertank at aproximately 30% of health, but when you shoot the 3 charges of the normal sharpshooter (vertically), the Guttertank litterally gets ERASED, same with the marksman, the normal marksman has divided coinshot for multiple enemies, and for a single enemy, both coinshots hit the same enemy dealing twice damage compared to alt marskman's coinshot

7:19 simple answer: Execution. Executing a drill juggle is much harder to pull off rather than just pointing and clickin with the other railguns. It takes time to master juggling and skill (mainly aiming at another enemy)

The screwdriver Railcannon was actually a life saver in P-2 when fighting Sisyphus for a very unusual reason: It kept my style meter going so I’d stay at a higher rating, making it easier to get back to Ultrakill and remove all my hard damage, which would instantly regenerate because of the Screwdriver’s blood.
that lightning strike mechanic might actually work with the jumpstart nailgun, in the wiki it states that the DrillShock combo (Overheat->Screwdriver->JumpStart) exists and it is particularly useful against bigger enemies like flesh prison since the jumpstart will also take out any eyes.

The lightning strike thing isn't exclusive to the Screwdriver. It also works if you use a magnet (I know it very well because i can't go one Leviathan fight without accidentally getting assisted by Zeus)
You need more likes, you actually revisited one of your older topics and got it right this time. Yep, screwdriving a big enemy is satisfying and useful for getting consistent heals, which makes it harder for enemies to kill you, and punching the screw deals good dmg as well. Well-edited and narrated video, looking forward to more!
its kinda good for high skill players bc without hard damage you become practically invincible which enables whole range of new risky plays (like drill juggle)
Even if i'm kind of a scrub myself, I think the fun of Ultrakill is that you can get away with using a lot of non-meta weapons and still have a lot of fun making enemies dead. Hell, I'm honestly tempted to go back to the vanilla revolver just cuz I don't like watching the style multiplier go from FRESH to STALE after one charged shot. On a single target
Bro, I recommend to you, not in a bad way, but for a good reason, that, before saying x weapon is bad, read the strategy on each weapon, u can read the strategy clicking the "Info" button on each weapon's tab, then you slide till u see a "Strategy" yellow title.
my main issue with the screwdriver is simply how much focus it requires to use effectively, which is why it isn't particularly good in cybergrind. arguably, the best way to use the erail and malrail are conductor and nuke, both take less than a second to pull off. for screw punching, you have to keep moving around enemies to keep the screw up, cause if the enemies die, you lose the screw. anything other than screw punching just isn't helpful for high levels of play: - mindflayer teleport; radflayers are kind of a joke and will just die on their own if you leave them be - bleed; just parry instead, blood isn't a great way of healing anyways, and it's not worth the possible conductor or nuke
I think the biggest flaw of the screwdriver rail isn't anything to do with the weapon itself- its the lack of obvious synergy with other weapons. It's got, what, slightly wider bleed area with fire, conductivity, and the punch-through with feedbacker. That's... about it. No direct, flashy and obvious synergy with another gun. Not like the other rails, which are hitscan and can therefore interact with coins, cores, and technically rockets. Coins especially is the big one. There's a couple of weapons like this, that have more direct utility but less synergy- like the cannonball rocket launcher. They're... less dynamic? I suppose is the word? With the other rails you set up and then let loose a huge spike of destruction. With the screw/cannon ball, you fire them and have to further work the effects to maximum output. To a degree that feels... kinda narrow. Maybe I can describe this better. Take screw juggling, as its probably the most involved mechanic with the screw. To use it you have to focus on it narrowly, like with coin punching. Now imagine coin punching was the only interactable coin mechanic and instead coins just did damage when you tossed them at an enemy and applied a debuff or something. Maybe caused enemies to shoot in random directions with friendly fire if you cover them with fire as well. Sure, coins would still be an incredibly good mechanic, but it wouldn't be dynamic like it currently is. I feel the screw driver lacks that flair. (And the cannonball for that matter). Like, give it the ability to home in on magnets. Or have super explosions make the screwdriver dislodge and auto-target another enemy (maybe in a cone from the center of the explosion). Something to increase the dynamic flair of the weapon and make other synergies worth considering. Doubly so for the poor cannonball. That thing has even less direct utility than the screwdriver and less synergies... Otherwise, yeah. Fantastic weapon.
Sure, the screwdriver doesn't have as much synergy or tech compared to other weapons, and it may be "less interesting" depending on the way you play, but the mechanics and tech it does have, like increased healing range and drill juggling are still enough to make the weapon unique and good on its own. It still offers a different playstyle and it takes practice to efficiently drill juggle, so I still believe it's fun, even if it doesn't have as much tech as some other weapons. Though I do agree with a few minor tweaks like what you said about the screwdriver drill homing in on magnets so that its easier to land on bosses like v2, I do mainly believe it's mostly fine as it is because it serves its purpose in the arsenal already as a healing source and possibly a weapon to shred tanky enemies.
i honestly just always use the screwdriver on really tanky enemeis that are easy to avoid like hideous masses while dealing with other enemies and when i get low i just jump over to the hideous mass to heal full again, it's amazing
the screwdriver is fine in itself, it's great for players who don't map out levels, and it's somewhat useful for the cyber grind. the problem is that it doesn't scale as well with skill. it's simple, and that's it's drawback. it doesn't have to be good or bad, it's not black and white. the screwdriver has it's use, but for people who can utilize the other railcannon variants in tandem with other weapons, the screwdriver just seems a bit misplaced. it's so simple, that i can't in my right mind deem it a "good weapon" per se, but it's not bad either.
I wanna believe that the Screwdriver is good for the reasons listed in the video, but truly, there are faster, more efficient ways to do everything the screwdriver does without having to bargain for the 16 second cooldown of a railcannon. PS, the Mindflayer counter is only so good while one or two Mindflayers are spawned. What do you do with three? Four? To me it seems I’d rather save my electric railcannon for a conduction combo after my jumpstart for a double conduction. Just feels more efficient.
The screwdriver's healing does become less useful once you're able to parry consistently so that's why skilled or experienced players dont really use it, especially since the other railcannons can deal insane damage, much more consistently than drill juggling. So its understandable why you may not see use in the screwdriver. But I do think it's worth it sometimes to pull off some good drill juggling as it's fun. For mindflayers though, I do think the screwdriver is good against radiant mindflayers as I think they should be killed first if they appear.
@@prep5181 Meh, I think radiant mindflayers are survivable. As long as you can maintain a steady speed and style inflow, you shouldn't worry about them until the Sentries and Virtues are dead, as it's just more efficient to kill them first (damage to health ratio wise). So I don't usually see a use for the screwdriver.
8:52 you're having radiant mindflayers in wave 35?? is radiance in cyber grind different in brutal or something because i play in violent and my highscore is 41 and i've never seen a radient mindflayer in my life
In 1v1 bosses? Depends on how often you need to parry a melee attack. Sisyphus/Minos/Gab2? Useless, you're far better off just learning to parry for both damage and healing. Now for fights like Cerberus, Hideous mass, V2 or Leviath where there's mutliple enemies or getting up close and punching enemies isn't advised by sane people, then it's very nice. Primarily because you'll get to take advantage of the healing without wasting either parry opportunities or the railgun charge.
I swear, it's my main RC, I rarely even use electric or malicious because I'm usually either whiplashing or rocket surfing anyway, can't say it is a perfect strategy but I got like wave 50 in cybergrind so like okay, I guess(considering it's like top 5000 something and there are a >million ultrakillers yea)
@@sapphirez1 Totally fair, everyone uses what they want in ultrakill since its start, basically. As I said, I'm pretty much always trying to whiplash or rocket surf so I don't have much wiggle room to lign up railcoils nor nukes(but those are indeed fire for flesh prison)
just one thing, a massive part of the screwdriver as well is its passive style gain. the current brutal cg wr holder (jaq/rizeri) said that she didn't even use it for healing mainly, just its passive style gain. sustaining style is very important, especially high waves where you can get hit by like a million different attacks any moment. other than that, i don't think you missed any points. good video
Screwdriver my GOAT! Ngl im not using blue or red Railcannon cuz am not a Marksman and Core eject enjoyer And that's why blue and red Railcannon is unless for me Also i love the bleed 👍
My argument for why the screwdriver is in this precarious position of good and bad is that better players find a lesser incentive for the screwdriver. You'll never see the screwdriver in speedruns because speed is key, and the main gimmick of the screwdriver lies in keeping the player alive for long enough. Better players find out that a better way to stay alive is to simply kill enemies faster, and so the screwdriver finds its niche in players with lesser skill. It's not a case of specific applications. Sure you can drill juggle with sentries but when you look at P% runs you find that the tech used for sentries is one of 3 things: Cannonball tech, overheat sawblade, or charged slab piercer and a coin. Sometimes there are variations but rarely would you see these variations because the methods are already optimal. These methods are more efficient. On the other end of the wall is players who try to play for style instead of efficiency. Drill juggling finds a niche in this section too, because you can juggle around the drill. It takes skill and it looks cool. In this same vein is chargebacks. It's cool but you need to wait a fair bit before pulling it off. It also takes skill, and it looks very cool. What I'm trying to say is that the screwdriver isn't a weapon known for efficiency. It is cool but you can kill things better than using the screwdriver. This is also why the electric railcannon isn't really used outside of railcoins.
Yeah, I was in this situation when i made my older video on the screwdriver, I hardly made use of the screwdriver excessive bleeding mechanic because I was too used to parrying bosses to heal which would also detach the drill from the enemy. Drill juggling might not be as easy as other methods since you have to constantly reposition yourself, but you can chain it infinitely and it's fun. Electric railcannon is also used mainly for conductor, especially in the cybergrind.
@@prep5181Yeah I get the sentiment with elec railcannon. Though I prefer just attaching a jumpstart wire to a weak enemy, putting some nails on em and finishing them off with the knuckleblaster. This is usually my go-to conductor setup (with 3 magnets placed down already ofc)
my take on the worst weapon is probably the blue nailgun? its an alright weapon but when compared to everything else it becomes more useless as time goes on
no it sucks and you've failed if you need ten minutes to explain otherwise. it's a very situational weapon that doesn't have any enemies weak to it like the SRS cannon, no damage scaling like the sawblades, no reward for letting it finish drilling like it did in very early versions of the game where it exploded after a certain time. you should have worn those 400 dislikes as a badge of honor, this community is notorious for yesmanning hakita's incompetency and i hate to see you get scared of dissenting the same people who look at the bare minimal content in each screenshot since 2022 and think it's okay. the singular damage is outclassed by a basic railcoin (and two alt marksman flashcoins, which takes less than two seconds), the healing factor and parrying for multi-target damage is outclassed by the sawed-on shotgun, the light enemy piercing attribute is barely practical. oh, it disables mindflayer teleportation? here's a better counter: TURN AROUND.
I agree with this. Most of the time you'll only see new players use this because they can't consistently regain health in other ways like parrying or dealing damage at close range, and those who don't know other ways to deal way better damage like coin adding with railcannon, srs cannon, overpump dashing etc
With screwdriver you can do feetpic-ing (basically, you kinda "do a photo of enemies feet", but irl you just parry screwdriver that was shot at enemies foot hitbox). Yeah, that's strange and yes, that's why screwdriver railgun is GOAT
how do people say that this has the lowest damage when it literally does more damage than the other 2 railcannons without the punch and has the ability to do infinite damage with enough time, skill and setup
Anti screw argument regard hard damage from whiplash: whip cancelling doesnt let much hard damage to build up, but i overall its a good weapon just like any other weapon from the game, decent damage with survivability purpose with some nice extra bits, and is great with jumpstart, so yeah, the weapon is good but the hard damage argument doesnt make sense for me
Nah, the real worst weapons in ULTRAKILL are the alt revolvers, they just do twice damage with their left click shot compared to normal revolvers, the right click shots are worst than their normal versions
I hope this does justice for the screwdriver from my older video on it. Also, I know the screwdriver is mainly used for healing, but drill juggling is honestly my favorite part of it.
Also, I forgot to mention that the range of bleeding increases even further when the screwdriver drill is embedded in an enemy that is on fire.

Overpump dash + knuckleblaster also works for sentries
Preppy
u use 3 alt shotgun and 3 alt pistols??
the beauty of ultrakill is that you can play with any weapon you want
screwdriver slander is not tolerated in this household
holy shit this guy is so good at this game. among my friends i'm the best ultrakill player yet the gameplay im seeing is so beyond mine
do the impossible see the invisible
Glad you've learned your mistakes. Now you can proceed as a bigger and wiser person. Also 1:46 is a stlyish way to end Sysiphus
we all hate malicious railcannon
Core nukes:
@sapphirez1 yeah I just discovered how good that is
Peak
You have sinned for using alt marksman
alt marksman is good u can watch my other vid on it if u dont believe me
Realbatman
So screwdriver has infinite damage as long as there are two enemies
yes
@prep5181 that's kind of a jojo reference
I used green rail+redshotgun alt
To beat sissyfus
my take on the worst weapon is probably the blue nailgun? its an alright weapon but when compared to everything else it becomes more useless as time goes on
No ways you say that , did you know about Conductor mechanic yet?
@@breathforvoidGreen and red nailgun does it better imo
@@slugcatsu I dont get it ? , magnet is helpful to me , or im just kind of guy to use all weapon in the game
@@breathforvoid You can still use magnets with the blue sawblade launcher though
@slugcatsu that is fair point , yeah I'm going to swap blue nailgun with the alt
Oh no, oh no, I feel bad now, I'm sorry man. I left multiple comments and was part of a comment thread explaining it too, I'm sorry bro, brogive me
you good bro, im also at fault for being so negative on the weapon in my old screwdriver vid
Now, if you haven't, first look at my apology, second, sawed on jackhammer vid?
i already did a video on the jackhammer and all its variant, but i might make a vid on the sawed on shotgun in the future
I would like to apologize to the screwdriver variation... I was unfamiliar with your game
finally, some justice for the screwdriver. now all we need is a weapon tierlist (or not it'll probably get a lot of hate :/)
no it sucks and you've failed if you need ten minutes to explain otherwise. it's a very situational weapon that doesn't have any enemies weak to it like the SRS cannon, no damage scaling like the sawblades, no reward for letting it finish drilling like it did in very early versions of the game where it exploded after a certain time. you should have worn those 400 dislikes as a badge of honor, this community is notorious for yesmanning hakita's incompetency and i hate to see you get scared of dissenting the same people who look at the bare minimal content in each screenshot since 2022 and think it's okay.
the singular damage is outclassed by a basic railcoin (and two alt marksman flashcoins, which takes less than two seconds), the healing factor and parrying for multi-target damage is outclassed by the sawed-on shotgun, the light enemy piercing attribute is barely practical. oh, it disables mindflayer teleportation? here's a better counter: TURN AROUND.
I agree with this. Most of the time you'll only see new players use this because they can't consistently regain health in other ways like parrying or dealing damage at close range, and those who don't know other ways to deal way better damage like coin adding with railcannon, srs cannon, overpump dashing etc
Gaming
ok
I hope this video turns at least someone’s opinion on this weapon around, it’s always been go imo but it’s extremely good now
Stubby nubby
With screwdriver you can do feetpic-ing (basically, you kinda "do a photo of enemies feet", but irl you just parry screwdriver that was shot at enemies foot hitbox). Yeah, that's strange and yes, that's why screwdriver railgun is GOAT
how do people say that this has the lowest damage when it literally does more damage than the other 2 railcannons without the punch and has the ability to do infinite damage with enough time, skill and setup
Anti screw argument regard hard damage from whiplash: whip cancelling doesnt let much hard damage to build up, but i overall its a good weapon just like any other weapon from the game, decent damage with survivability purpose with some nice extra bits, and is great with jumpstart, so yeah, the weapon is good but the hard damage argument doesnt make sense for me
green railcannon is legit the only one I use
A real man admits his mistakes. stand proud, you are a real man
Nah, the real worst weapons in ULTRAKILL are the alt revolvers, they just do twice damage with their left click shot compared to normal revolvers, the right click shots are worst than their normal versions
Thy sins are forgiven
