i got the fuecoco box recently cause he was my starter and i wanted the pin and i found it at target and while i was already planning on getting the other two for the pins (and to actually get koraidon since i played scarlet lmao) its nice to know that the promo cards are different as well lmao
Yes. Miraidon and Koraidon are legendaries, but as someone who has 180+ hours in game, they really have no reason to be legendary other than the fact that they are on the boxart (being a important character on the story isnt a requirement so i wont count)
I think it's super neat that they made the "box legendaries" only really legendary by comparison, like, I'd consider all the Paradoxes pseudo legends and the fact that they only pulled two Koraidon/Miraidon makes them legendary by proxy? but like, there's really no other lore reason for them to be legendary and that's Super neat to me actually
What’s crazy for me personally as a collector is that one day at target picked up a random one of these fuecoco boxes and My Mom and I got some Starbucks in the little section of target and I decided to open it, Got my first ever Alt Art from a Silver Tempest Pack on a whim and if I’m not mistaken every pack had a hit. Idk if I just got really lucky with that or what.
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the EXs were from the Black and White era Edit: For everyone mentioning that exs were from gen 3 you’re right but I was referring to the uppercase EXs since there were multiple times that he said they were from X and Y
The capital EX cards were from black and white, lowercase ex cards were from ruby and Sapphire along with delta species which were the original tera pokemon
4:18 Japanese Pokémon cards have had silver borders since the ADV era (EX era starting from EX Ruby and Sapphire to EX Hidden Legends) while international releases at that time still have yellow borders and the E-reader strip which was dropped shortly in EX Hidden Legends.
You could almost think of the ex as a mix from the old ex and the EX from xy. Maybe its to try and mix nostalgia for both. Like I grew uo with xy EX. IDK. that's what I think at least

I'm not that impressed with the cards either. Silver borders are fine! Its the holo foil that looks cheap af and keeps getting worse as the years go on. If its a money issue, get rid of reverse holos and guaranty a holo in every pack instead.
I prefer ex Pokémon compared to V GX and EX Pokémon because I feel like the big basic Pokémon meta feels accelerated. But I do like them when they have cool art

I’m gonna miss the yellow bordered cards but I can’t lie the way they made the cards look like the Japanese sets are really nice
I think on holos and ultra rares the new borders will look awesome, It will just be kinda sad to not see them on all the other cards too.

I went to okinawa on january and was looking everywhere for scarlet/violet pokemon cards
