Pontiac 1926 - 2010
I’ve got a mint 1984 Trans Am. It still looks modern. Handles like it’s on rails. Love that car.
Sniff, I miss you Pontiac.
Me too
Chills! Children of the 70s and 80s, ride!
Bring back Pontiac and Oldsmobile!!
Nah, Oldsmobile was never in fashion, hell it has the word OLD in it. The epitome of boomer cars
"Ride, Pontiac, Ride!" "We built excitement!" "Pontiac!"
SOLD!
"What do you mean?"
@@joeerickson516 That i would buy any pontiac with this kind of commercial. They cant do even commercials anymore
cringe CRINGEEEEEEE
@@foxyplaysgames113What, you couldn't catch "The Bandit"? 😂
Awesome video brother Pontiac (my most favorite GM brand) was not only GM's Mopar but also America's BMW as well.
When you see all that history. All that performance. And how big a part of our lives Pontiac was, I just don’t understand how you walk away from that. So, I didn’t. Still got my 70. And she still kills it wherever she goes. Maybe someday GM will recognize us and bring her back. I mean they’ve been giving us the bird already. Now give us one we want! 😊
Pontiac Lives!
Still hard to believe it’s gone!
This would make a great Super Bowl Ad!!!!!
Thank you for sharing so much with this footage. I did not think I would be moved watching it, but I was.
"We built excitement!" "Pontiac!"
I miss these commercials!
I wish they should bring back Pontiac, because it’s one of our only childhood car company since they made great models like, Grand Am, Trans Am/Firebird, GTO, Sunbird, Sunfire, Vibe, Fiero, 6000, Bonneville and Aztek. I wanted these models to be Electrified with those red light scanner that are mounted in the hood, like the one they used from KITT from Knight Rider. Pontiac is a drive for excitement of our history of the General Motors’ car company in the country that we had in our hearts of this beloved company.
I MISS THAT INDIAN!!😮😮😢😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤PONTIAC!!
Patrick Stewart on the narration! Couldn't get much cooler.
This is probably one of the best ad combos with heart beating music to get you to feel what Pontiac was all about.
If there was ever a way to add or modernize this video even further, it would include Pontiacs such as the SLP's Firehawk, the 30th anniversary T/A, the GTP GTX 300 grand prix, Bonneville SSEI, G8 GXP, the firebird formula 400 LS6, among the additional Pontiacs that won in racing series from the mid 90's onward to bring complete closure from performance beginning to end....
"That was, this is, and forever will be Pontiac!"
Firebird forever!
R.I.P.
Always loved pontiac. Bring back the grand prix and g8 . 2 of my favorite models same with solstice
Pontiac will never die! You Got It, Pontiac!
Awesome Visuals! Cool Track ! Thanks 👍
"Get on your pontiac and ride!"
PONTIAC!!!
chills
Ricky Craven made me love this song more.... Watch the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 and you'll see what I mean. The last Pontiac NASCAR win that was epic.
I found out at the end of the ad is the concept design of the 1998 Pontiac Sunfire
@@shaneharrisnj3484 I think it was a mistake for Pontiac to do...
@@shaneharrisnj3484 I respect your opinion, though it would have put more money into the pockets of GM and Pontiac, which would have been a win-win situation
Sing Actor & Actress Song Very Nice
I Like Richard Petty Number 43 Stp Pontiac Grand Prix From The 80s And Early 90s
What was the yellow car at the end?
But on another note, if they brought Pontiac back with that song and visual I don’t think there would be a dry eye in the building.
It’s the 1990 concept version of the Sunfire. The production version didn’t quite live up to the concept, but when it arrived for the 1995 model year as a replacement for the Sunbird, it did at least borrow some styling cues (particularly those taillights).
RIP Fire chicken...
Sad they do not exist anymore
Yes, but at least they are not being electrified like the current management of GM.
GM killed all the good brands and now we just have Chevrolet! Sad when you think about it.. Oldsmobile and Pontiac would have been better to keep around alot longer!
If the best was yet to come in the form of Aztek, thanks but no, thanks. The car that the designers who designed the front, never met with the ones who designed the rear end. Other than that, this was a serious line up back in the days in late 80s even though nothing would be comparable with the cars we have today. I mean, cars and not batteries on wheels. Oh, btw and the only time after Knight Rider that we could see a Bird flying in this commercial.
81-87 got no love at ALL !!! Just skipped over that whole era haha y’all did show Richard’s but for 2 seconds 😂😂😂😂😂
The best was not to come
Unfortunately you are right. However I am glad they are gone since GM is all about EV's, which is completely against what Pontiac was all about.
@@wordenentertainment1997They DID have one last hurrah with the rebadged Holdens and the Solstice (that hardtop G6 wasn’t bad either, I don’t care that it was based on the Malibu), but it was too little, too late. Bob Lutz fought the feds hard to keep it, but they weren’t gonna get that bailout unless he killed off some brands. It was just getting good again, but it was hard to justify the existence of a performance brand that hadn’t been consistently selling for decades as we were heading into the worst recession since the 1930s.
Pontiac will always Ride and As for GM ,You suck for canceling Pontiac
Amen to that! I've got to say GM starting to really go downhill in 1982 when they cancelled Pontiac's V8s and cheapening everything from that point on. To the classic and true GM died when Pontiac died in 2010. The GM from that point on and especially modern day is not the same brand I've always liked. When they announced they would go all electric, I've lost all respect for modern GM. Actually makes me happy that Pontiac is gone since they would've gone all electric if they stayed, which would've been against what Pontiac was all about to me and many other enthusiasts. My 79 and 80 T/As, as well as my 84 GP will always ride for many more years, while an electric GM product will likely be long gone in the future.
As far as im concerned the stopped making them in 1988
what is the model in 1:49 ?
'89 or '90 Sunbird LE.
@@LeftyStratPlayer thanks brother
@@dimisploub1697 YW! 👍
Grand Prix ?
Which artist did this song?
It’s “Red Hot”.. the female lead voice is Alannah Myles (yes, that one) and the male part is sung by Mark Campbell who sang "Johnny B. Goode" in "Back To The Future". Hope that helps 🙂
The 80s pontiacs had nothing on the 60s.....
What is your relationship between your brother and sister Nikolas?
We are all very close.
Was this from a VHS tape Nikolas?
Not sure, got it off of a Pontiac Facebook page
Likely a video disc if it was a dealer promotional video
Best is yet to come.....Aztek...lol
I think if only it want for that plastic cladding the aztec could have been a very different story
To be fair, the fourth-gen Firebird/Trans Am, GTO, G8 and Solstice were also in the future.
@@aidaaliten8817You should see the original concept. It wasn’t half bad before the bean counters got ahold of it.
Spock???
Close, it's Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
They should bring back Pontiac as an EV performance brand. Like the 1980's vibes of the brand make it affordable but they brought back the hummer that cost over $100,000. I have a 2004 Pontiac Aztek whatever you say about it no problems for me now it's just old the frame is so rusted they cant lift it up and work on it anymore and it will be my last gm vehicle ever I will keep my word and looking at Ford for my next new car too many mistakes gm made over the years they should of killed of buick instead
Honestly, I wouldn't bring back Pontiac nowadays. EV's have proven to be failure and Pontiac was never about electric cars. When Pontiac died, the classic GM died with it. I will never own an EV. Gas-powered cars for life!
