windows is blocking rufus from making changes to the usb it then removes the partition and i have to reformat in disk part. pain in the a** aside from this good video man.

I was wondering if there is anything i can do to unbrick my slim PS3 without an E3 flasher. THIS WORKED BRO FOR EVERYONE STUCK ON "Initializing download operations" I had the same issue, just clear browsing history, cookies, and cache, close out your internet browser, restart your PS3, and try to load via http again, it should work. Hope this helps!

I deep cleaned my ps3 as the fan was way too noisy, and i mean deep cleaned the thing stripped down hoover and re paste the chips, the amount of fluff and junk on the fins of the cooler was gross lol no wonder it was noisy. Just saying it might be getting a little hot ? or your ps3`s video chip is on its way out but you say it only does it on XMB! does it do it on anything else like when playing games etc. To me its the software at fault might be a setting to change something to do with sync or output settings.

When I load patch via http nothing downloads. I followed all the steps. What happens if I load patch from file or download patch file ?

quick side note for the safe mode update install: use an official controller, it will NOT work with most 3rd party controllers
