People ask how Valve can make a game than can one-up Half Life 2. This is how.
I wouldn't be apposed at all, MGRR was a huge jump in absurdity from the weird but usually reserved action wise MGS games but turned out great as it's own thing and I imagine the same could work for other series if handled right.
Plus, a quality black sheep addition would certainly be above another decade of a cliffhanger.

Headcanon:
Considering he survived black Mesa with nothing but a crowbar according to the people of the Half Life universe, it is likely there are people who'd believe Gordon could do this
Knowing in Xen he had been bouncing around alot, especially those weird trampolines, It does make sense.
Plus the long jump module probably wasn’t removed, but Kleiner probably didn’t care to remove it I think

...I actually like the idea of Gordon using the gravity gun to power his suit, gives him the ability to lift heavier objects. And using it as a high/long jump module was a nice touch.

@@mdd4296 In my last playthrough of HL2 with MMod on the gas station road block on Highway 17 I got pinned down in the left side garage and hopped on one of the large tractor wheels lying there and bounced my way through the hole in the ceiling by shooting the wheel with the gravity gun.

The only thing that mighrve been cooler was if he somehow did use the crowbar but somehow wrenched the leg off

This is how people talk about Gordon Freeman during the time between Half Life 1 and 2. Like how when Russell told Alyx that Freeman fought back the resonance cascade and the military in Black Mesa using only his crowbar because that’s what the story had evolved into at that point.
It's like the opening scene of the movie Desperado. Russell walks into a random bar with some Civil Protection, orders a beer, and then tells the story.
Combine: We have an army of striders and genetically modified soldiers with advance technology weapons. What do you guys have?

This animation is genuinely incredible. It’s smooth as butter, fast, weighty and makes creative use Half Life equipment to do some of the crazy shit from revengance. Props to whoever created this absolute masterpiece.

Gordon using the Gravity Gun Like the 'Long Jump Module' should be added as a Option in 'Half-Life 2: Overcharged'
They could probably recycle the Tau gun again and have it used as a booster along with chel’s leg modules

I was so hype when Gman got out of the Advisor and suddenly become ripped as shit and started to beat the shit out of Gordon, simultaneously explaining his plan to destroy his employers by their own tools, like, I would have never expected of Valve to make his in-game invulnerability to be remotely cannon, let alone a setup for the final boss!

The camera angles were so accurate that for half a moment I actually thought this was a MGR mod
Holy shit, lets take a moment to admire the sounds and SFX in this its on point and in perfect sync. The sounds is what does it for me and you can even hear the gravity gun when Gordon uses it to power up and jump.
Indeed, the details are incredible. For me, it's the quiet explosion noises panned strategically in the last 4 seconds. Or how it starts with what sounds like a remixed version of LG Orbifold.

Gordon didn't cut a strider leg, he stopped one. Also, the massive jump was from a gravity gun assisted hop.

I love how the crowbar is technically the best melee weapon in half-life it’s the first weapon u find and it’s the only(I think so) melee weapon in the the first game and the fact that it’s used here as the sword that Raiden uses is pretty cool

The single improvement to this masterpiece I can possibly think of would be the addition of a rating screen like MGR has in-game. Otherwise, this is _fucking awesome._

Would be amazing if the strider was shooting its cannon more. Imagine Gordon deflecting its shots with his crowbar as he's running up its leg in mid-air.
I have one thing to add to that: the weapons are firing incorrectly. The larger of the two guns is the autocannon while the small one is the one that has to charge up before firing. The weapons are switched around

The first one: *Gordon hits breen across the face with the crowbar, only for Breen to chuckle.* What did I just say? *and Gordon is hit into the wall by Breen*
Second: *Gordon leans forward, getting caught by Breen. Breen pats his back, thinking he did get through to the mute phsycho that is Gorden. Gordon then grabs Breen, and tossed him over his head, into a terminal.*
Maybe give Breen his own version of the HEV suit.

In all seriousness, that reminds me of the Beta HL2 where the Consul would turn into an abomination of flesh and technology just to be inmortal.
The animation is actually fucking perfect, mad props to you for taking the time to animate this masterpiece so well.
Many people believe that in that scene, Raiden blocks Ray's sword, but in reality he STAMPS the sword and pushes with his other hand.
Everybody be talking about how amazing Freeman is, but nobody talking about how indestructable that crowbar is

@@Dashinix except it isn't, because that particular crowbar gets disintegrated in the Citadel when Gordon goes through that gravity manipulation chamber that supercharges his gravity gun.

The fact that Gordon isn't cutting it's leg at 00:25 and just uses a single attack to kill the strider is sooo much more badass than the original imo.
BTW, you can do that in game too, if you don't press the attack button during the running part.
I would have loved that if he did hit the leg with the crowbar and the iconic sound effect was played for each heat
Imagine that during the Stryder sequence, when you're supposed to be finding the rocket launcher, you activate this cutscene by hitting the Stryder with your crowbar as it melees you with its legs

I love the idea that all the crazy shit Gordon does in fan animation and speedrunning videos is all because it's the suit seeing it as the best way to survive the hazardous environment.
For some reason in the source engine world the perception of size and depth is much better than in mgrr.
Which makes the enemies far more scary.
