Probably gonna start doing longer animations. its getting more fun.
The Gordon Freeman model used in this animation is NOW available to be subscribed to/downloaded off the workshop or via blend file. Brusstrigger, THG, and I have worked very hard on this model and we feel it is now ready for release! have fun, and please share this with others!

a side note: I'm having computer problems (my monitors just shut off after a while and my fans spin up. this is completely random I still don't know whats causing it) and I do not currently have a wage-like job (working on it) I'm afraid I might have to replace something soon so if you can, just spending 3 dollars a month for some wips and early videos on my patreon or just a dollar for youtube memberships would be extremely helpful. obviously sharing my animations around would be extremely helpful as well.

Considering the way the Vortigaunts view time, they likely always saw Gordon as a friend and savior, but couldn't express this during the Black Mesa incident due to the Nihilanth's control over them.

Not really, if we take into account what Gman states about the Vortigaunts in Episode 2.
"There was a time they cared nothing for miss Vance, when their only experience of humanity was a crowbar coming at them down a steel corridor."
Gman basically means that back in Black Mesa, when Gordon was killing them, Vortigaunts did not care for any humans.

Im pretty sure you're thinking of the brain damaged Vortigaunt from HL:Alyx, he's separated from the vortessence, that's why he views time differently

That vortigaunt probably reminded gordon like how he pretty much killed most of the vorts at black mesa, now the vorts view him as an ally and a chosen one, he pretty much felt guilty even if hes silent in the game

I'm not sure which game this was mentioned, but some vorigans wold sacrifice themselves getting captured by the combine to get information on nova prospekt for their kin.

I like how everyone appreciates the main scene but I really love how that one combine dies slumped over on the chair. It's ridiculous, funny/awkward-looking and yet realistic at the same time. Well done.
It caught me off guard when Freeman talks, but then I realized that line was Jk Simmons's Omni-man. Wisely done.
Absolutely phenomenal work. It's interesting to consider a player character feeling remorse over killing enemies that turn to friends in the following game. It's like if Master Chief ever expressed regret for killing elites.
Except there's absolutely no reason Chief should ever feel bad, the Elites *chose* to destroy humanity. If anything it would be the complete opposite. This is why context is important and why you can't just rip off ideas and shove them into a completely different setting.
This probably lines up with the lore from HL1, though I have to say I also really love the silent 'arc' or just general moment of development you get for Gordon in Black Mesa, where at first he's confused seeing the Vorts all timid and avoiding him in the village, before the controllers show up, and at that very moment, it finally clicks for him.
This whole time, they never wanted to hurt anyone, someone else did. Remorse will have to wait, for at that very moment, he resolves to get them out of there on top of his existing mission to destroy the Nihilanth and save Earth, and I really, really adore how despite the complete absence of dialogue, this character moment remains incredibly impactful.

any and all HL fan made lore animation will always be just so good, because we goddamn know valve won't give us any ;-;
The xen section in 1 may be one of the worst levels in the game, but I’ll never forget the “factory” portion of it. The vortigaunts don’t attack you. At all. Even if you attack them first. They just keep doing their factory tasks while ignoring their surroundings. They don’t even have self preservation. It makes it so abundantly clear that they’re doing everything against their will. They only attack once the mind control wears off and they’re left scared and confused. I’m so glad that they made them allies in the second game and its episodes. Even when I was a little kid when I first played these games I understood what was happening to them in-universe and it made the already deep narrative even deeper.
From Gordans point of view, he watched his friends and coworkers get slaughtered by vorts. Then, he saw them being tortured, enslaved, and used as fodder against him by the Nihilanth.
He comes back to Earth and finds them once again enslaved by the combine, who torture them just as their old master did. Only this time, humans are suffering the same fate, and the combine are even more ruthless.
The resistance has recruited the help of a few vorts that have escaped, and these surprisingly peaceful and intelligent creatures consider Gordan their savior, for he was the one who gave them freedom.
He has gone from hating these monsters, to sympathizing with them, and, understanding their strengths as powerful allies against their mutual enemy.

Remember, there is a theory with strong evidence, (before the canonical changes, anyway) that the Vorts are the enemies all along. Back when tyhe r/halflife sub was amazing, someone connected pieces of dialogue from all the vorts to piece strong evidence, and I cannot find it anymore.

Sounds like someone took what makes G Man so interesting and unpredictable and just transplanted that onto the Vortigaunts for literally no reason. "Oh, dude, they stopped G Man! That must mean they have their own agenda!"

Those Combine Guards had no chance. Despite Overwatch giving them advance warning to "lock their position" (prepare for combat) and issuing sacrifice code 10-5-8-9-3 (stop him even if it means your death), they still couldn't beat the one free man. Plot armour asf

The only thing I feel is that maybe the oil drum hitting the combine should've had some more umph to it. A bit more metal on metal or some soft, but stiff surface. Not sure how to get such an audio clip though without trying to generate one.

I knew it was going to be omni-man
I like to think that this is how Gordon's psyche likely was back at Black Mesa and in Xen given the nihilanth's control and their hostility back on Earth 20 years prior, but being completely passive in Xen and during HL2's events. Time probably barely passes in Stasis so seeing the Vortigaunts be proper allies to him rather than being on the edge of the coin would be pretty jarring. Omni-Man's lines here captures how he could've felt well. Also I love the technical detail of the video feeds being dogwater VHS in quality, it'd make sense that technology would barely progress given the Combine's occupation even if they've got vastly superior tech, video quality to them probably wasn't even on their mind

Yeah, nah. I doubt that Gordon cared much about Vorts until after the events of Episode 2. If anything, he was probably on edge whenever one was near, pretty much like any HL1 veteran player playing HL2 for the first time.
Dude may be MIT Graduate with PhD, but he would still be processing the sh*t he had gone through.
From his POV, less than a week would have gone by since he first witnessed these same creatures mercilessly killing his friends and colleagues at Black Mesa.
