Yall are legit the best explorers. A real team of friends with proper banter and jokes. All the others are just fakes with streaming buddies who rearrange furniture for views. You lot keep it real. 100% epic. Well done on 100k. Now let's get you all to 1mil!!
Just so you know, mental health hospitals DO have pool tables (though usually behind a door that can lock if there's a risk to it being used to harm someone or property) and also smoking rooms were a thing in every MH hospital for years, they only turned those rooms into other things when the smoking ban came in. Smoking (or, not being allowed to) is the thing that causes the most kick offs and aggression on wards from my experience. You're already in a very bad place and a crisis mentally, nvm being told you have to go without your addiction, that usually comes about as a coping mechanism. Basically, they take away your stress relief, main coping strategy and refuse you access to it. You can only smoke off the entire grounds of the hospital now so if you're sectioned without any leave written up by a psychiatrist, there's no way you're smoking unless you're sneaky. I've seen people, and myself tbh, go to ridiculous lengths to still smoke while you're there. Just wanted to share that for anyone interested and thanks for the video guys.
We stayed in a B&B round the corner to this place last year and every day we drove past on our way out somewhere that angry welsh Guy was hanging around in his car watching everyone who drove or walked past!
11:38 that thing is called a “LEG” , used to open and close the curtains.. especially for the encore/ curtain call - where the curtains were opened and closed repeatedly. it’s where the term *Break a leg* comes from. Fanx For Askin
The whole system should have been preserved and updated. Care in the community never worked for many people and that is why we have mentally unstable people committing terrible crimes. These places were not all bad and describing them as asylums is outdated and provocative. I know my comment is 2 years too late but maybe some will read it and give it some thought.
I’m with Norton. But not just about these kinds of buildings. We’re so incredibly wasteful as a species. Everything is used for a short while and then discarded. Everything, big and small, that can be preserved, renewed or recycled, should be. But instead we just mass produce more and more things to discard.
love watching you guys from Canada, As a kid my mum worked at the Deva in Chester, so i got to go with here now and then to help clean ( at the staff social club. still there)we had to go through the hospital to get keys and stuff, and i met a few of the guys that stayed there. one guy was there because he was gay, ant another whos brother died in the war and coudnt cope. they were the nicest people i had met.

Visited this exact place yesterday and on opening YT tonight spookily this vid popped up straight away 🤔. It's so overgrown and more ceilings have fallen in since your visit. Amazing exploration none the less but can't see this place lasting much longer before it completely collapses.
I’ll never understand why people leave negative comments on your videos, they must not get the humour. My only negative comment would be that I’ve ran out of hell on earth to binge watch 🦑
Hey up just found your channel!! Great fun watching you lot keeping it real. Where yer from? I am originally from Sheffield but now live in Australia. 😊
pool tables are a common feature of insane asylums as are pianos and a day room full of chairs with a telly . some had an electronic lighter affixed to a wall push the button and it heats the coil . a bowling alley is also common as well as a crafts room and kitchen for the patients and a building for donated items such as clothing . a separate smoking room or a porch is not unusual . and a library and canteen and morgue, doctors lab . buildings for infirmed cripples and elderly . . and a studio for closed circuit tv production for weekly bingo games and such . maybe a printing press for an patient newsletter . and a ward for violent patients with straight jackets . how much chlorpromazine can you drink contests . a gymnasium with indoor basketball , even a weight room . a stage and theater for movies with a projector room and a pipe organ . an on grounds cemetery . the table with a hole in the middle : the hole might be for an umbrella pole
Johnny u r such a big kid. It does make me smile. How come the argument with the dudes in the van was in intro but never shown in vid?. I wanted to see what that was about.
I went here back in 2018 and it was pretty much in the same state, such an awesome explore and I feel sorry for those who try to explore it these days knowing how protected it is, there are maintenance corridors running under the floor which I walked through don’t know if they’re in this video as I’m only at 6 mins in
