I love to watch you sew. You remind me of me. We make little mistakes along the way and it makes it so much easier to learn how to do a sewing project when Im not the only one who gets a little ahead of myself...love and blessings🌼🌼🌼🌼

I see this video is about two years old it did pop up on my video list so I am watching. I love to make pillow cases and your tutorial is great. I just wanted to say I sew over pins all the time. I learned to sew from my grandma and she sewed over her pins too. I think if sewiist were honest most sew over their needles too. Thank you for a great tutorial.

Very pretty pillow case and I always wanted to learn this technique! Thanks for being so genuine .....I get ahead of myself too. Its so much easier to learn how to do something when being taught by someone who is very gifted to sew but....not a perfect lady!

In my years of teaching I've learned that my students are much more relaxed and comfortable if I make mistakes. Helps me too - I don't have to try to be perfect! And the mistakes make good teaching moments because I have to show how to fix them!

I LOVE your video! I appreciate your attention to detail such as pressing between steps, especially pressing both sides of the cuff to avoid that extra “lip” on the back side! I hope you don’t mind that I share your video link to my Ryan’s Case for Smiles sewing volunteers!

this is awesome!! I'm making Christmas pillows for my 87 yr old parents. just something to bring some cheer. I love how these look and your video is great! nice, slow, clear for us beginners! BUT I need help with the width of cut pieces. it says WOF but my pieces are diff widths. can you tell me sizes to cut?

    • @SweetheartQuiltDesign

The width of fabric is usually about 43” but the sizes very a little. You can match them on one side or center them in the middle. After you sew the cuff on, turn and iron, you have to trim off the selvedge edges and you can make them all even when you trim.

@@SweetheartQuiltDesign Can I still use these directions without the small middle piece? I just want the case and the edge

@@lisadesmond2624yes. You would still sandwich together the cuff and the main piece as usual just eliminate the accent piece.

I can’t get my head around doing it with directional fabric, like the nemo fish, which to me looks wrong. I think the fish should face down and not along the pillow case.
