Thanks Sam. I needed this. Looping looks easy. But, timing is everything. It takes patience and practice. I'm a work in progress for sure. You make it look quite easy. Great Job!!!!!!!
Great review, perfect for getting started with this pedal. I was always a bit confused on how sync mode and Pt1 / Pt2 worked but this has cleared it up for me.
Fantastic rundown of this pedal told me everything I needed to know, but missing the character and personality. That's why Degan is the man!!!! Cracks me up,.. I could listen to that guy sell an egg 😂
Amazing demo!!! Thank you for this! I have been using an RC 300 for a few years now and looking for something to upgrade to. Although i'm mostly an acoustic artist, the drum sounds and customization in this pedal or intriguing. I just might upgrade to this pedal with a few extra external control pedals. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT REVIEW.
I noticed that you had a tempo change in the last example is that something you can change on any of the pattern variations or do you have to find the patterns that are already programmed like that .and they are set like that .(obviously you can change the tempo I mean between part 1 and 2 )
Great video! I just picked one up and loving it. Question though, is there a way to have the drum out to full play over the loop in sync mode? As soon as the full starts, the loop stops. I noticed in the video you just played a little riff out to, but trying to think of applications where I’d want to riff out while still having the backing. Thanks!
Great video - quick question: What happens if track 1 and track 2 have different measures? (setting up for chorus and verse tracks) Will it still be sync'd up with the rhythm / drums?
What do you need to connect this thing to studio monitor speakers? Do we need an audio interface? A tutorial and walk through on all the connections and how to get the sound out of speakers would be nice.
I'd appreciate a run down of the cables required and where to get them. The only cable that came with the looper had two flat pins at one end and a round plug to fit into the box at the other. I guess the two pinned flat plug is for oriental outlets. The flat pins seem totally redundant. I have a Yamaha THR-30II wireless practise amp with a line6 relay that fits the guitar. How do I connect the looper through the guitar and amp? Never played electric before.
Do you need a separate amp for the looper? I have a Boss Katana 100 with the Boss channel selector and if I am playing with distortion lead are the looper drums going to sound tinny and distorted?
Do you know if you can erase a loop without it being audible? Example: you record a loop live but make a mistake and want to try again but dont want audience to hear it being played back for few seconds while it erases
If I have a bass guitar connected to the left channel input and a regular electric connected to the right channel input will they sum to mono on the mono out?
How many loops can we save ? Are they with the drum rhythms ? Can we save 2 different parts per bank or 3 different loops per bank without drums like rc 50.....please enlighten me !!
@@pissbabylong-beard8534 yep no luck, I’ve scoured the Internet looking for an answer and can’t find shit. It drives me fucking crazy, I’ve tried everything I can think of to get rid of it
You have to start playing immediately when you stomp the first layer in. After that you can stomp in your overdub at any time and your playing will accumulate everytime the first layer repeats. Hope that helps.
@@mark-stefaniw it does, and this is the correct answer, I finally went back into the shop where I bought it and asked the guy and he showed me exactly what you just said. You have to play right as you stomp. Took a little practice to get it right, but it’s going well now. Thank you for the response though
Hmm... I'm thinking that, instead of having this pattern 1/2 function, if you had the RC 5 instead, you could record an entire song as one long loop, right? Just playing it as you want to have it, intro, verse, chorus, verse and so on. That would also be possible, wouldn't it?
hello, what a nice demo about the Boss RC10R. Based on your demo I want to buy this one. I play bass guitar and think this thing is a nice addition to play with at home and make my own music. Question, I can record 6 hours of loops. Does that mean if 6 hours of recording I only need 1 memory space?. Or can I record 99 times 6 hours?. Greetings Erwin.
I am not sure I understand the need for the hold right button to sync because the drum beat is the same, so just keep playing. Or, can the drum beat be changed to make a song with different drum phrases?
In one mode the looper starts. In the non-sync mode you can run the drum loops without necessarily using the looper. This is not an exhaustive description of the differences of the sync options.
How long should i wait to see a "midi-looper"? No audio but midi events (for guitar synhts and/or keyboards) looped, so that i can change pattern on an arranger (or arranger module), or change the sound of the background chords (strings in the intro, hammond in the verse, synth brass in the chorus) without having the need to play always the same chords. Come on !!! Roland-Boss ! It's up to you !
CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP I have absolutley no idea how record one loop and then overdub it with a different guitar tone, whenever i record something on a clean chanel and then want to switch and overdub a distorted meledy, the whole piece changes to distortion, does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you Sam for been one of very few people to demonstrate a looper as a looper and not a backing track machine. Nice review.
Thanks Sam. I needed this. Looping looks easy. But, timing is everything. It takes patience and practice. I'm a work in progress for sure. You make it look quite easy. Great Job!!!!!!!
Perfect for new rc10r owners. Very informative, clear, concise - many thanks!
Only demo I could find with how to save what you've done, and understand it....top man.👍🇬🇧🎶🎸
This is maybe the most concise video I’ve seen on how to operate this pedal. I’d really like to see you demonstrate parallel mode
Once again great demonstration! Always straight forward and simple. Best demos around!
Definitely the best how-to video yet so far for a quick start!
What a friendly bloke. Nice looper.
Thank you Sam, 1st demo I've seen and one time through I actually have a firm idea of just what hell I was trying to do! thank you for simplifying!!!
Great review, perfect for getting started with this pedal. I was always a bit confused on how sync mode and Pt1 / Pt2 worked but this has cleared it up for me.
Great demo and sick playing! Thanks for the awesome tutorial!!
I just bought one. This is helpful and seems like a good purchase
Great demo! Love that this has a verse chorus style option. Very useful 👍
I’m hearing some Buckethead in that last jam. Nice work 🤘🏽🔥
Really helpful demo - thank you - got my 10R in the post today 😁👍🏻
Thank you for making this
So dope!!! I really like the second and the last song . It sounds really cool.
Fantastic rundown of this pedal told me everything I needed to know, but missing the character and personality.
That's why Degan is the man!!!! Cracks me up,.. I could listen to that guy sell an egg 😂
excellent introduction. thank you very much.
Thumbs up for intro hum.
Super best , to basic learning on drums, cymbals, too...solid's sound 's machines.
Watching this to learn to use my new RC-10R. Concise informative & helpful.
Cheers 👍
Nice Demo!!!

Can you set the time signature for any rhythm track, e.g., 11/8?

Question...can you have a Bass guitar and guitar connection to the Boss RC10r at the same time to lay different tracks
This is so useful, thank you

How does it loop vocals? Also is it suitable for smart modelling amps ?
Thanks 👍
Great demo thank you
Well done! Thank you!
Are we able to isolate the drum track to output B on this thing, like we can on the rc 500?
Yep I’m sold
Awesome!
very nice tutorial
How do you have the chords sound one way and the lead sound another way? E.g. chords have less distortion and then lead has more distortion.
Great review
Great video - quick question: What happens if track 1 and track 2 have different measures? (setting up for chorus and verse tracks)
Will it still be sync'd up with the rhythm / drums?
Nice. Good job 👍
Nice music Sam
But does it read the tempo of a loop and can you bring the drums in in sync after looping
Do I have to step on both buttons at the same time to stop the drums and my guitar?
Not according to this video : double tap on drum stops all if in sync mode.
The intro was 🔥...That white boy is welcome to any Black cook out..
Skin colour is irrelevant
Very racist comment

What effect are you using for bass sound? Pickups models/brand in the guitar?
Thanks for this demo. May I ask if the rc-5 can be connected to rc 10r as a midi sync? Thanks!
Yes, possible via midi TRS cable.
@@markharley99 thank you for your reply
Finally ordered my rc 10r today. Idk what took so long.
Thank you! 😎👍🎸
The last piece was great
What is your set up
Guitar amp effects
Must be going through PA to get that full range response
Great video thanks! Maybe I missed it, but is it possible to send the drums out only on channel B and loops/guitar on A?
Yes, set OUTPUT MODE to A:LOOP B:RHYTHM
@@joebowbeer thank you!
Love that husky overdrive on the last track
Great demo.
Excellent review.
Are there any decent loop pedals that let you mute and unmute any one of the overdubs not just the last one you did?
Hi. Once you have two tracks recorded, can you save both together in a memory slot?
Does these Boss loopers save the rhythm patch along with saved loop????
Nice video. Im almost getting one of these.
Just one question remains: Is there something that Boss RC-5 does that this does not?
Thanks
That was beautiful, thanks!
Great video! Is there a way to set it to not automatically record when changing to track 2? Thanks!
Thanks for your video

What voltage power adapter does it take?

I would like to know that too as it is quite annoying.
without looking at any user's manual, personnaly I owned the RC-3 (earlier, simpler version) and it was possible. So if it isnt on this one, it sucks.
Thank for you video. Do you know why your tempo went from 110 to 95 at 3:00?
If I have a bass guitar connected to the left channel input and a regular electric connected to the right channel input will they sum to mono on the mono out?
with the stereo, can you send the looping track to with one channel and have the live signal into a second channel?
Can I use it with a mic for my percussions, please?
Can you save the the drums with the loop to hear on the pc?
What about vocals? I litterally just got mine. 2 days ago and i have never used anything like this. All new to me.
Can lopper pedals record baselines as well as guitar tracks?
How many loops can we save ? Are they with the drum rhythms ? Can we save 2 different parts per bank or 3 different loops per bank without drums like rc 50.....please enlighten me !!
How do these loopers work when you change into the chorus or bridge? … Or can they?
What happens when you want to modulate to another key after setting up your guitar backing track loop??
New to all this so what are the plugs that need .Great info.
When I try to save a loop, when your display said "Executing", mine just says stop all. I can't figure out how to save a track.
Beauty
how to erase only track 2 in loop if i did something wrong without delete track 1?
How do I get rid of the obnoxious delay when just using the looper? There’s always about a 1-2 second delay as it starts the loop over
Have you figured it out yet? I’m having the same problem! Sucks when you don’t play exactly when it starts recording...

Hi Sam! Have you come across any problems with the RC-10R introducing increased hum into a set up?
Hi, how many times can I undo my loop track? Only once or can I 'get' back to start to first recorded loop ? Thanks.
Great☺️👍thank you really clear☺️👍👍👍👍✌️Al the best Sir☺️👍👌👌👌👌
How about how to hook everything up FIRST.....then go through features cheers
And how do you turn the sync to on

is he using a octaver for the bass?
Why didn't they make the other switch assignable if you wanted to say use it solely as a looper?

You're good.
Rc10 as a winner looper coz it can record 2 pattern include verse 1 and verse 2 song… other looper fail for this
Play up, Pompey!
