Man I loved those riffs! So funky bluesy and catchy! Attractive style to my ears. Anyway, this pedal appears to be the absolute freaking BEST looper in creation. Players have been dying to have a multi track looper for verses and choruses, instead of just repeating the same thing, but the boss rc 300 breaks the bank and is huge! So an actual song with a simple structure can actually be built with this rc10r! Im solddd and will start saving up to be a proud owner. Awesome demo!
@@untamedgorealist So, I was going to get some kind of looper. I saw this and thought it was so cool! But then...I saw the Aeros Loop Studio which is even sicker! That was like $600 though so I was saving up for it. But then, I ended up getting and Axe Fx II XL+ (Yes even though the Axe Fx III is out, too expensive for features I dont even know how to use). And so, I'll go to my DAW, record the parts, activate the loop and just jam over it if I need to play over a repetitive melody or something. I wanted it for live stuff because I dont have a band. But now! I realize... I can record all the instrumentals into my DAW myself and just play/sing along! Like record the rhythm guitars, drums, bass and harmony vox, and then live I actually just play live lead guitar (or vice versa I'll record leads and play rhythm)along with the instrumental track and sing! So instead of a repeating loop, I can just compose an entire song, bring my laptop, plug into the FOH speakers, and just play my guitar and sing along as a 1 man band as opposed to playing a loop over and over
@@brianleechee in short youre using a backing track. Sometimes some venues are against backing tracks and they want the muscian to perform everything live by looping. Some cruise lines allow backing tracks and some dont.
@@AchintyaSingh Yeah well, I'd probably get the Aeros Loop Studio for looping cause you can do like 6 tracks and switch between sections like verse chorus etc. But yeah if I record an instrumental, and play it through the monitors and sing and play over it like a backing track, I didnt know venues didnt like that
@eechee the reason why venues don't like backing tracks is there is no limit to how much layers/tracks you can put in a backing track. And sometimes even a bad player can get away by fake playing.. Even if he messes up strumming , the other tracks would still be playing and he might get unnoticed. Talking from an audience perspective also, they'll thing where is the keyboard , bass , drums sound coming from. But most of the people now know what a looper is, thanks to instagram. So everyone loves a looping guitarist who can do everything (drums, lead, rhythm ,singing) on his own that too live in front of them. It also elevates musicianship and set you apart from normal campfire guitarist. Cruise lines prefer looping solo musicians over normal strumming ones.

Great Video but I have a question. Can I run the drums and bass (via an octave pedal) to one output say to a sound system mixer but then run the the guitar through the second output to a guitar amp? If so this would be perfect for me. Thanks for your help! Tony
On this looper, its always drums first, then layer on that. On other loopers the drums can follow your guitar part, But this is still nice. (and use an octave pedal to do a "bass" part..etc..
It probably comes down to preference. I have used pedals that follow your playing to establish a drum tempo but those tend to kinda slow down the process a bit. Having this set up the way it is lets you just set (or tap in) the tempo you want and have it locked in before you even get the whole process started.
Hi guys, after waiting since July I finally got to buy a RC-10R today. But I'm having a hard time with Rhythm Coverter software, it doesnt recognize the correct pattern in the Phrase Memory, instead it just shows the same pattern every time which is your factory default, the "Funk 8Beat" even though I have saved/written the phrase memory with a different pattern. It's very frustrating, I can't find any contact window at Boss website?? how am I supposed to get support?
Please help me! I bought a Boss Katana 100 guitar amp, and I am lost because I do not have loops! My question is: Should I buy a single looping pedal or a guitar processor like the Zoom G1? Help!!!!
(EDIT: since posting this comment there have been firmware updates. Some issues are claimed to have been fixed.) I recommend waiting for a significant firmware update before buying the RC-10R. Don't trust the advertisements. Everything about the RC-10R is slightly clunky and semi-working at best, starting from the most basic syncing and control features. It cannot even sync its rhythms to _your_ playing (which is a basic thing) - you have to make yourself a slave of the mechanical sounding rhythm machine (which plays a dumb CRASH accent cymbal in the first beat of practically EVERY rhythm pattern). Switching between parts 1/2 is very easy to get wrong, creating a dumb empty bar, you have to tell the pedal about the switch almost a full bar in advance. The "full MIDI" setup isn't really full: the pedal doesn't even receive or transmit system realtime start/stop messages. And it won't sync its beats to the incoming MIDI clock, it just gets a tempo, leaving the actual syncing to the user's manual timing. The only semi-working way to use the RC-10R is to not use any sounds from the internal rhythm machine, volume 0, and by syncing to an external MIDI clock from another device, and even then it's error-prone. AND you really need an external two-button foot switch. Maybe for a home practicing tool it's OK if it's the only one you have, but there are cheaper better loopers for that. I must say I regret foolishly believing BOSS's advertising videos. It's not what they make it look like. I've continued using the older RC-30 much more, because it's a no-nonsense looper. No part 1/2 switches and no external MIDI sync, but what it does do is sensible.
@@bobbyfoxx2443 It completely depends on what and how you want to do. And whatever you buy, most probably you'll change your mind after awhile. If money is not a problem, try something?
This pedal does EXACTLY what Boss advertises it to do. Have you noticed that all the official promotional material focuses on this as a guitar focused pedal and nothing else?
