Today I am going to show you how to get out of the map in Red Dead Redemption 2 and explore Mexico. Mexico is a secret location in Red Dead Redemption 2 that is not normally accessible. But in this video I show you a Red Dead Redemption 2 glitch that allows us to cross over into and how to unlock Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2. @@vent9409 I guess so too. I got strong feeling R* is planing a solo DLC around "Cowboy vs aliens" theme, and mexico could be the main map of it (and then would be added in online). But if they cancel this project (or any story dlc) they will at least open Mexico's map for red dead online. Anyhow Mexico is coming. It was very likely looking at the physical map given with special and ultimate edition, it is now sure thing as we can access to it. :)

The fact that the out of map scenery is detailed and walkable just goes to show how incredible detailed this game is. Easily one of the greatest games ever made.

Xbone x already has a remastered rdr. It's called the 360 version and it runs with 4k upscaled graphics and looks and plays better then rdr2. Ok, it plays better, not looks better. It's also a better game, with better characters and a better story. Undead nightmare only helps.

"El Presidio" is the only mexican side city you can see from the US side. That's why only the outside walls have some "Decent" textures and also why is the only city that appears in Mexico.

@@Hoez513 I'm betting when they were earlier in the development process they built everything intending it to be playable just like New Austin. Then the guys working on Mexico may have got word it would only been seen from a distance because turns out even without it the map is already the size of the entire northwest hemisphere 😂.

I'm late but you can get into Mexico as Arthur pretty easily. It involves going off the map going around New Austin, finding the beginning of the San Luis River, and swimming to the opposite side. You risk getting sniped if you travel too close to the New Austin border so I like to travel alongside the untextured land. Once you get to the San Luis River you won't get sniped as long as you stay on the opposite side in Mexico. You can also find wild horses off the map so you don't have to make the travel on foot if you can't find a way to bring your horse.
How do you get off the map?

I was master prestige in red dead redemption one online im excited to see what the mounts are and the level system or what will money do online i hope its not like gta 5 and i hope money doesnt matter like that
So basically Mexico is empty because players weren't meant to go to it, El Presidio is there but empty, poorly textured, and missing bits up close because players were only meant to be able to see it from far away. It's interesting they included a cut out tunnel thing where the railroad tunnel went through the mountain in the original game, that as well as all the other textured open space in Mexico is a wonder why rockstar included it, maybe they do have future plans for it.

Actually, Rockstar has no plans to develop the game whatsoever. So they're just going to keep the servers running only because they want you to buy gold currency.
I think they wanted to do something with Mexico during the production of RDR2, hence why it’s so detailed

You can jump off the edge on the far southwest side of Guarma where the corner is with waves. If you climb that mountain with low res textures you will find another bigger mountain behind it. I think it is the highest point of the map you can get to. Hope you find it cuz the view is awesome!!!
There is so much unused terrain in both mexico and Guarma. I thought it was just for the background but then there's more behind all that. They could be planning to fill it all in one day for DLC.

I think the atmosphere of it is perfect aside from armadillo obviously, but there's literally nothing to do there besides explore. there's 4 points of interests, two legendary fish, around 7 dinosaur bones, 6-8 exclusive animals, one useless treasure hunt that's only remotely worth doing if you're going for a full compendium playthrough, another mustang, one revolver that's just a factory-designed version of one of the early game revolvers, 2 bounty posters, and basically one exclusive herb. it would be cool if it actually had some content. nothing too fancy either. maybe just some new weapons and horses exclusive to tumbleweed. speaking of tumbleweed and armadillo, it's cool that tumbleweed is populated, but the cholera outbreak in armadillo is just so dumb. they could've done way more with that town. but aside from all of those negatives, I love New Austin. it's cool that rockstar even decided to remaster it in RDR2. I can even look past all of these negatives because it's supposed to be a much smaller part of the game. the main focus is the main map.
And Guarma which is like, a waste of space because it takes an hour to get through, maybe 45 minutes if you speedrun it and there's no way to get back once you leave. And don't forget the animals that are exclusive to Guarma and are part of the compendium.
I quite like the old rdr1 map a lot better. In rdr2 it’s quite barren but in rdr1 it’s full of stuff to do and see. While in comparison rdr2s map is massive but a lot of it is mountains that have literally nothing to do.
Not liking Mexico is news to me! Still remember listen to Far Away for the first time as you ride into Mexico with the sunset. Probably my favorite part of the entire game.

You can get to Mexico at the very start of the game. You take one of the small boats into Flat Iron Lake and jump from the small boat to one of the bigger CPU boats heading south. The boat will go close enough to the Mexico border that if another boat crosses between you and the border, you can shoot the occupants, swim to the next boat, and row it to shore.
But won’t Pinkertons start shooting at you from Blackwater? Also, Rockstar made it so that you can’t be on boats in New Austin. They knew that people would try to use boats to get to Mexico so they made it to where goats will instantly sink in New Austin.

Listen people , Rockstar wouldn't have made this much detail in Mexico just to say it's for a backdrop . If this was a back drop , they wouldve made a small amount of land and make you glitch through the ground and back to the regular map . They have to be making this for a dlc or just a bonus place to travel to . Or else they wouldn't have made Armadillo or Rio Bravo or Gap tooth Breach or Tumbleweed accessable . There wasn't even story missions near Armadillo or Tumbleweed . Why would they make this accessable ? It's obvious maybe when Red Dead Online comes out or some other dlc comes out , Mexico would eventually become accessable . They wouldn't have designed that city and tunnelway in Mexico if we weren't allowed there. So let's hope it'll be accessable in the future of single player and not just online .

They added another New Austin sniper into Mexico. However, you are killed instantly unlike the New Austin sniper.
Just so you guys know, animals do spawn outside of the map. Birds, ram, and even horses. I was running outside around the map going up along side the left of the map when I discovered animals and horses they don't move from their spot but you can get a horse and move them.

Personally, I think they might have somehow reused the map from RDR1, improved New Austin and West Elizabeth and added the new areas, but left Mexico untouched save for a general texture overhaul they must have done on the whole RDR1 map. That's probably why it's there, and unfinished.
I really hope they end up using Mexico though, if only for an Online map expansion. Lots of potential there, and it's already partly done; they wouldn't have to make it entirely from scratch.
If they weren’t planning to remaster Mexico like they did with New Austin, they would’ve just let us go to Blackwater, Great Plains, and Tall Trees. If they were willing to recreate New Austin, then they gotta have future plans for Mexico. If I was a developer and my boss told me I had to recreate the map of a previous title but leave one region out, I wouldn’t have done it unless they told me they had plans for it as future content.
Secret graves, secret trains, secret maps. Red Dead Redemption 2 has a lot of secrets.
Just imagine glitching into this place then recreate the " Far away " part of the 1st game.

Pretty sure its just a low quality version meant to be scenery so it looks realistic from new austin. Alot of games do it, in batman Arkham night you can see and glitch to low quality versions of the locations of all the previous games

Agreed, this seems fairly obvious. We already have the unused map of New Austin that will likely be used in online.
That would explain why it's so low textured, but it would be a missed opportunity on R*.
New Austin isn't fun. Nobody used New Austin in RDR Free Roam except for Pike's Basin. All the fun was had in Mexico. El Presidio, in particular. If R* doesn't open Mexico up at some point then the MP will suffer imo.

Luke Dalley Maybe RockStar was going to make Mexico playable with towns and missions and the such but couldn’t really get it in on time or didn’t really have much inspiration to make it as good as the rest of the game, so at least they’ve put the sound files in.

Here’s my theory aside from online play, I honestly believe they were testing their limits as far as how big they could make maps for a story mode. This is actually insane to sit and think about because Mexico was huge in red dead redemption. To think that they were able to include that in an already massive story map, is impressive. Now just image if they were able to do that, what gta 6 is going to be like. I’ve heard rumors that they could possible try to make a whole state, a few states or even all of the US. Even heard about all of the UK as well or overseas story.
I heard it's gonna cover the entire earth, better yet we will get to mars and explore the entire mars as well

Doesn't work anymore. In history mode the horse doesn't try to climb the edge, and in Online mode, if the character goes too high he dies "falling from the horse" :-(

New Austin, staying at the river, looking over to Mexico, seeing hills, sand, grass, mountains -> thats the reason why it is there. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you don’t want to use cheat code to get a horse to ruin your achievements, don’t! You don’t have to. You can run a little ways around to the side of tumbleweed and you can find animals that won’t move when you go near them (including horses) you can hop and one and take it and just use those! Like so people can see
Or just make a separate save game. Wouldn't that work too? I've done that and can still unlock achievements on my non-cheat save.

They patched it. Right when online came out too. I think you instantly die now if you end up outside the map, so no out of map glitches are gonna survive.

I’ll bet money that Rockstar made this land so detailed but intended it to be inaccessible because they want to make a Mexico DLC online/ in the story, like smuggling things across the border and etc.
It would go been really cool if they actually put it in the game, it could have more story missions for after you finish the epilogue

As huge as RDR2 is, Rockstar could've easily included a remastered version of RDR in with the Ultimate Edition for only a few more Gigs of data. I always thought that RDR looked fantastic, imagine it in 4K Ultra HD
You can already play RDR1 in native 4K on Xbox One X and it looks fantastic.
STEEZER I have a PS4, so nope. But my point remains the same, the original RDR was about 600 MB of data for PS3. A remastered version included in with Ultimate Edition of RDR2 for PS4 would probably only have added 4-6 Gigs to it's already 100 Gig size if that.
Perhaps Rockstar has a remastered version in the works as a DLC. Not many people still have PS3 or XBOX 360 I suspect, so from a money making stand point an updated version for the latest generation consoles would probably sell very well.

It's just a scenery that you can see from New Austin, it has no purpose other than making it realistic from a distance. That's why only El Presidio is rendered, you wouldn't be able to see any other RDR1 Mexico location from the riverbank anyway. If anything, this video actually proves there won't be any DLC in Mexico or whatever, because there's nothing there to see except simple elements whose purpose is to be seen from New Austin.

On the 1.0 version. I actually managed to get my horse up with me. I ran a way for a couple minutes, ran back. Spammed the whistle button, and my horse was up there

They patched this. You can still go up the ravine, but as soon as you get up, the game kills you instantly.

It seems like they were either planning on having Mexico in full in RDR2 and ran out of time/money to do it, or they really just mashed the old map together with the new map and instead of deleting anything (just in case for DLC) they left in that entire area. Crazy.
