It's a shame that this place wasn't fully added in RDR 2. Mexico can only be accessed through map glitches and there are no normal means of reaching this area. I decided to take a look at this Mexico and compare it to Mexico from the first game.

Mexico exists in the base game as you see it in the video. Its just unreachable without glitching there.

I doubt Rockstar will add Mexico because they didn't both adding San Fierro and Las Venturas to GTA 5. In my opinion, I'm ok with Mexico not being in Red Dead 2 because it was added, then it would make the first game pointless to play. On top of that, Saint Denis became my favorite area in the game because it felt like a new environment

Fact : All cities and POI's from Mexico in RDR2 do actually exist. They're in the game files but they're not placed on the map. They're invisible but they're here.
Yeah it was meant to be seen from a distance because they were low textured
El Presidio is there but when I was there, I went through everything like a ghost.
You can hear some leftover sound files, like dogs barking where settlements are supposed to be. You can hear them in this video, at the 2:25 mark.

If there is a red dead redemption 3, what would the Redemption part of the story be about and who? Doing Arthur's story again wouldn't really answer that question. I think they need to focus on another character in a different part of the world. So many states and areas were mentioned within the game, they could explore all new areas and new states. Let's get out of the 5 states they currently have a progress into new territory within the same universe.

I have no doubt that Mexico was originally gonna be an explorable place in rdr2 especially since they modeled el presido and how much detail there is out of bounds
El presidio is only for you to see Mexico from new Austin
Arthur was even supposed to be in New Austin.
Compared to New Austin and other areas it's clear that Mexico was never really re-modeled; only the vegetation and textures were updated. Makes me think Mexico was going to be included but was probably cut early on when they decided the story wouldn't take place in that area.
That's likely the case because evidence has been found within the files that Rockstar did plan on adding it but cut it quite early.
@@noru122 Nuevo Paraiso even has its own physics (albeit partial) , weather, and the area was actually expanded. There was way more solid land added west and south of the region which is odd considering it shouldn't be accessible.

Really hope they bring Mexico back, the battles at El Presidio in the original online were hilariously fun.

Doc P yeah man! Fight your guts out to make it to those cannons so you could blast people fighting on the hill tops. You could only stay at the cannons for a minute or so until someone scoped you. Awesome time fighting it out there, more than once had everyone in free roam battling it out there.
This and sieging the fort at Mount Cochinay were some of the most fun parts of my childhood, flat out. The sad thing is that RDR2 simply doesn't have a location of that caliber. I love this game, but Rockstar definitely botched it up.

As a 1st gen Mexican-American kid, Red Dead Redemption was a dream come true. It was awesome being able to show my dad John Marston riding on his horse hunting bounty’s along the border. It was even more epic seeing my heritage, and even the whole country where my family was from! It was awesome seeing the Mexican Civil War history story unfold before our eyes w the Rich Federal Army vs the Poor Rebels. It was unforgettable w you being in the midst of it all!. And i loved RDR2 w all my heart... but Man i would’ve loved to been able to have Arthur visit Mexico... Long Live Arthur Morgan y Viva Mexico hermanos
Anyone knife how John’s outfit fits weird in RD2 compared to the first game? It’s like it’s tighter and John is skinnier in RD2 while there’s some bagginess to his clothes in the first game

Well in the first game his clothes look worn and possibly used quite often to the point where he looks a lot more rougher. In the second game his clothes look newer. Makes sense. Passage of time can make clothes look different on someone. Especially if they are out in the elements
There's creases drawn in Rd1 makes it look baggy rdr2 is more realistic but doesn't simulate any baggieness well so clothes fit better on each person

As much as I really would like Mexico to be added at some point, honestly I’m just grateful of what we got. They didn’t have to add the entire state of West Elizabeth to the game. What they gave us was more than enough.

Why Rockstar is throwing all their focus onto online when they already have half the work done for mexico, I'll never understand. They could even half-ass it by just finishing the map and then throwing in some bounty boards/minor activities, release it as a moderately priced dlc and get away with literal millions.
maybe because they might be focusing in their next big project like say GTA 6 , you know Rockstar always take years to release new game , and when they do oh boy they generate millions of revenue , so I dont think that they are doing anything involving RDR at the moment
Online is really fun if you get into it and have friends to play with, but yeah they should make a Mexico DLC or at the very least add it to the next online update and make missions for it and everything

Well, with the game finally on PC now, modders can recreate the missing or unfinished parts from the original games map such as the mine and the rest of Mexico. In fact I would imagine a lot of the assets are already in the game since they ported over tons from the first. But the rest of the models could be ported over and the textures as well with a nice map mod. In fact since most of it already seems to be there it might take a dedicated map modder only a few weeks or months to work on it.

Nothing is coming lmao it's been over a year since this game released and there has been no change to the story whatsoever apart from a few small optimisations. Rockstar was probably planning on adding Mexico to rdr2 but cut it last min due to data limitations or something.

I have this small little feeling that in May of of 2020 the 10th year of RDR1 Rockstar is gonna have this event in Red Dead Online celebrating RDR1's 10 years. And in New Austin and West Elizabeth there are going to be fireworks everywhere and there are going to be overpriced legacy outfits from RDR1 and you might be able to travel to Mexico. It's just a guess though.

It is built yet according to story lore and common sense, but Mexico is cut content, not because it's not built yet, but because the company didnt have time to recreate it in rdr2.

For everyone saying Mexico was definitely going to be added, yeah no shit rockstar was so lazy that they didn’t even remove the Mexican music, when I glitched into the rocky desert I was surprised and hyped by the music
I don't think they were lazy, lazy people didn't spend 8 years developing the game. I think they just didn’t have enough time to come up with a plot for this place and write in all the characters and locations from the first game to save the timeline, etc. It would have been possible to have DLC, but unfortunately rockstar considers RDR2 a commercial failure, and the DLC for RDR1 failed in sales , so after this it is unlikely that we will get something from them.

heyimbryson I recently replayed both it and Undead Nightmare. Quite fitting that I started this decade playing RDR1 as a kid and ended it playing RDR2 as a man, and then to continue/end the story and come full circle with a replay of RDR.
Over a year after the game released still hoping they add Mexico. They prob will at some point as a lot of the areas are blanked out with no vegitation. I’m sure theyl wait till the game slows down with dlcs maby within the next 2-4 years and theyl just release it with whatever other content updates are out at the time. I’m sure it will become a reality.

For everyone who might be confused, Mexico is not an official part of RDR2. It is just a bunch of terrain and bushes, some buildings are there but not many. The is a glitch you can use to get there but it is pretty much just a waste of time.

They need to make a rd3 and have the story make u play as John marstons son after the ending and have you go into Mexico but make it bigger so you can explore more beauty, then add that for the rest of the map

@@peltomies6975 I don't know if they should do another prequel to the prequel. I honestly think it being set after RDR1 would work. See how Jack interacts to the world where the west has almost died off.
I think the next red dead game, if they do one, should be around the highest point of the wild west. With brand new characters and story, only having Easter eggs to reference the other Red Deads.
No Mexico, No Story DLC (Specifically Undead Nightmare 2 which I'm salty about)
Man Rockstar really dropped the ball in favor of a lame multiplayer. Gaming's biggest wasted opportunity.
There are clearly very minor details that the developers spent time working on (such as the dug out graves at Sepulcro. I suspect that whilst RDR2 was in development, they initially planned to include Mexico with New Austin. But time constraints obviously led to them scrapping those plans, or putting them on hold for future content releases
Rockstar could give Mexico as an update and I’d be happy without any other updates for 2 years lmao. I love mexico so much and Rockstar fucked up for not adding it.

So I think mexico was scrapped from story mode because of the plot cuz he never went to Mexico but i think your character was meant to spawn in Mexico and escape from there in a way since theres more stuff in the online files for mexico but they also scrapped that idea sadly and it sucks that we cant go back lol
All they really need to do is just add the roads, building, and peds everything else is there already
And the animals, I was dissapointed there were no bobcats in the game so I went to mexico to see if there was atleast some bobcats.
That really isnt all they have to do.... that is just the easiest part

I was exploring mexico yesterday using mods, i guess they imported the map from rdr1 since its the same engine, reworked new austin and added the new part of the map and just left mexico as is. Honestly they should make single player dlc that just recreates the story of the first game.
Also you can hear mexico music from the first game which i think means that they thought about adding mexico to the game but gave up on the idea since there would be no reason for mexico to be there and it would just make the game larger.
There is a chance that they will make mexico dlc but its more likely that it will be added to online rather than single player dlc.

I would love to see a Red Dead Redemption remaster. I heard something like that might not be possible unless they rebuild the game from the ground up due to the source code being lost (I think that’s what happened due to the engine they buses always changing, please correct me if I’m wrong).

Cat Doy I know, but it’s they same with New Austin too, the first game just had a certain atmosphere that made the game so loveable. (Not saying rdr2 isn’t as good, it’s definitely way better)
@@ronaldtheant Mainly cause in the first game most of the game was just desert West Elizabeth being a exception and areas like New Austin and Mexico had less vegetation in them to give off that you were in a western vibe. rdr2 has a lot more green areas and less desert and doesen't really give off the same western vibe of the first as the first had that spaghetti western vibe while this game kinda feels like it appeals to the more modern westerns.
@@RORofCinder I'm honestly really happy they did that. Developers should strive for new things in their sequels, new content, new engine, inproved gameplay etc but at the same time not making too different from their original game. And RDR2 did all of that perfectly.

I can see mexico being a DLC in the future. Almost everyone wants it and rockstar already have the map from the first RDR. All they have to do is touch it up a bit like they did with New Austin. It'll be cheap as fuck to do and they can charge you 30 bucks for it and you'll still buy it. It's a win win for rockstar really

how to reach mexico in rdr2?
For some reason being out of bounds is rdr2, especially in Mexico, gives me a liminal feeling. Probably because it's a desolate place that we were supposed to be in, but never was. It kind of makes me feel sad, because of the potential those places had in the game before they were scraped. I also feel like someone is there with me, but no one is.
The part when you first get to Mexico in rdr1 and this song plays is soo badass, you can't change my mind.

Funny how some of the places look worse in Red Dead Redemption 2. Yeah I know, these places were only meant to be seen from a distance as you were never meant to be able to get to these places without a bit of glitching past the boundary.
Imagine a remaster where you can play RDR2 then transition to RDR1 on this same expanded map without stop
i hate how they ruined punta orgullo in rdr2. in the original it has the beautiful white sand. and now it just looks ugly and ridiculous. nuevo paraiso was my favorite area in rdr 1. and i miss it in rdr2. but at the same time. i have a feeling that they would ruin it if they added it to rdr2.
