- so it turns out Jason has a bad trip or something (my guess is there was poison on the knife that vaas stabbed you with or something)
Here you go! Probably my favorite part of FarCry 3! there was another version here on youtube but the guy kept healing like 6 times and it pissed me off how many times he would try to stab the vaas shadows.
another version had a guy talking almost the whole time but every other word was like a curse word. it hurt my ears -____-

I love this scene, how it seems like Vaas was waiting for someone like Jason, someone worthy of killing him and taking his place.
Jason has become what Vaas was meant to be before Hoyt fucked him up.
It all comes down to Vaas last lines. He is in Jason's heart and in a way he is Jason's savior as without Vaas Jason would have never found out what he's capable of.
He nails Vaas to the cross and by that takes his place as a leader of the Rakyat, Vaas is reborn through Jason in this scene, what Vaas should have been, not what Hoyt turned him into.
It's a beautiful scene.
In fact what happens here is that Jason went crazy, when he killed Vaas, he began to see him anywhere, that's why Jason says "Why don't you die?" . The same thing that happened to Vaas in the story he told Jason at the last mission. "Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact ... same fucking thing ... over and over again expecting ... shit to change ... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, boom, I shot him. The thing is ... he was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these fucking pricks , everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing ... "

Vaas is just finding an excuse to end his suffering.
He literally warns you that his sister is going to turn you into a "warrior". He says "You are so fucked, Jason."
You ever notice how Vaas always talks like he's been abandoned and betrayed by his family? That's because Citra did exactly that to him.
Just as Citra fucked Vaas over, so will she fuck you over. The end of the game shows that more than anything.
Hoyt never fucked Vaas up, because his sister did the job waaay before Hoyt sunk his hooks into him.
Citra is the villain, she stripped Vaas of his humanity to a point where he couldn't even rely on his own family, and throughout the course of the game she is trying desperately to remove Jason from what makes him who he is, and he becomes more and more unhinged with each and every mission. By the end you are just as- if not more- fucked up that Vaas was.
There's a reason why we are given a critical decision at the end. We can give in to this awful fate, deny our identity and humanity, or we can break away like Vaas did. The only difference at that point is we have somewhere healthy to go, when Vaas had little else but Hoyt.
In a way you're right. You are becoming what Vaas should have been, but in the twisted vision of his sister, who is ultimately the real villain in all of this.

Vaas let him “live” like 3 times and still didn’t just give him a bullet in the head. Vaas could’ve killed Jason a long time ago at the beginning of the game but gave him 30 seconds to run.
And Far Cry 6 confirms that Vaas survived this encounter lmao

What seems to have happened is Obviously Jason was tripping balls and maybe he fought Vaas and wounded him but never killed him… or maybe he never fought vaas at all and Vaas got away.

This mission represents everything of what Far Cry 3 is made of, this game gave me moments I'll never forget and this is one of them.
Burning the Weed Plantage while Skrillex music is playing was such a gaming moment too. This game had it all. Great difficulty, awesome gameplay, gunsounds on point, starting as a traumatized boy, leaving the island as a badass not to fk with, long story, plottwist which wasn't obvious. Just nice.
I LOVE how Vass gives the "Fuck you" for sign language. When he says "You are so fucked jason"

I carved my own knife and added details of the knife jason uses, this is the most memorable moment in gaming history..also one of my most regretted moments, since the beginning of the game vaas was my favorite character in gaming history,

the music makes it feel like the last time you will ever see him and in his dream, you just slowly walk to his death, realizing that if you kill him, you will never see him, only being as him being trapped in your mind and leaving your mind to the vaas. i really see how emotional it is and i just never forget this theme. You killed the person that told you the definition of insanity and vaas killed the person that told him that. You joined the cycle and got to see what Vaas really is. A good guy that thought his actions were too sinful to death, and continued being evil.

I’m pretty sure Vaas wanted to kill Hoyt at first, but he couldn’t because he was too powerful, and he could never find a way to get him, so when Jason arrived to kill him, he knew what he was worthy of. He knew that if Jason made it this far, he could defeat Hoyt, and leave. so after was was dead, it became possible for him to deal with Hoyt. Far Cry 3 had a story, Only a game could tell...

Michael Mando killed this role. Showed what people with real talent can do when given free reign. So many lines and so much of Vaas' Iconic mannerisms like the little click at 1:45 and the speech patterns are all Mando's creation. Ubisoft knocked it out of the park with this and are struggling to find the ball again.

@Kiyra 4 nah, unfortunately it was confirmed that he died by Hoyt, and Vaas couldn't have gone anywhere off of the island (international criminal) he couldn't have stayed in pirate controlled areas (Hoyt would know he lives) and he couldn't stay in Islander areas (He'd be instantly killed, and his death would be celebrated.)

Since everything was a hallucination there's a possibility Vass never got stabbed by Jason
He could've run away from the Island in the meantime Jason slaughtered all his men, he could've gotten scared of Jason seeing his army die. Even though Citra says he killed him and some of his pirate army later in the game say he killed Vas he is still psychotic enough to fake his own death in a way. Bare in mind we never saw what happened during the transition of Jason getting unconscious and getting back to Citra. Countless of possibilities.
But like I said since everything around him was a hallucination I highly doubt he was only able to see Vass there and kill him. And I'm no fanboy of Vass in any way in case someone accuses me of being one

Cod for Life there is no way he died. How can he die when he clearly stabs jason and then he passed out. It clearly looks like jason was drugged and since he been wanting to kill vaas for the longest he just visualized it.

@@Angel-je3bh I feel like its one of Jasons "super saiyan" moments like when he fought hoyt it went slow in his mind but in reality, he killed both armed guards and hoyt within seconds, or else they wouldve shot him. Thats why hes truly one of the most badass video game characters in my opinion.

I'm curious as to what vass says if you don't shoot him .... he definitely tries to force you to kill him which means if that's the case then he's somewhat like the joker in the killing joke I see similarities only vass is more kept at showing the sensitive side of himself joker only once showed how broken he was and acknowledged it only once to batman I dunno why but I wonder what happens if you don't shoot him
If you don't shoot him immediately, and wait(after some time the game forces you to shoot him) he says things like "Put me out of this fuckin misery" "c'mon do it" et similia. Vaas is a interesting character, and I think he rapresents an alternate version of Jason. Like what you would become if in the ending, you choose to join Citra but she doesn't kill you after. I really think that he followed the same path as Jason, before going mad. Like in Killing Joke, with one very bad event that destroy an entire life. In most of the cutscenes, Vaas is not that kept in showing sensitive sides of himself tho. There is the one with Jason's girlfriend(that he tries to set on fire), where he has sort of a mental breakdown and starts talking about family and how your love for them fucks you over. That feels very "human" compared to a villain like Hoyt or Buck, that never let go they 'badass aplha guy' attitude.

I still believe Jason was hallucinating immensely during this fight, he more than likely stabbed vaas with a hypodermic needle and not the dragon blade.
Reason being is because at the start of the fight Vaas stabs Jason with the dragon blade, which is something that's impossible for him to have.
I think Jason imagined stabbing Vaas with the dragon blade but instead it was just the same needle he was stabbed with at the start.
We watch him pull it out of himself and carry it for the rest of the fight, this would explain how Vaas how is still alive in Far Cry 6. He injected Jason with something that caused him to hallucinate immensely.
Dont worry while Jason was Brandishing his knife high as shit vaas was playing desd and when he realized jason was in a drug trip he got.up and left realizing hes done

Plot twist: Vaas survived. He drugged Jason up using a syringe and all this battle was just an hallucination/dream. Think about it...They tried to kill eachother and each time they failed that's because they keep doing the exact same thing over and over and over again thinking next time it's gonna be different.
