Saw him perform this tonite at University of Texas -Arlington grad celebration. He spoke and performed 3 songs, totally killed!! This song brings tears to my eyes every time, it's so painfully good to listen to.
You are right ms sonia and in addition to that, this song was inspired by Will i am's 9 yr-struggling relationship with someone when he was still poor and broke, the things they've been through to keep the relationship working and going despite the problems/arguments.
