- It’s no secret that the price of watches is rising. Gone are the days when a Rolex Submariner cost just a few thousand; with every passing wave of new releases comes a little kick in the pants of the RRP, and there’s no sign of it slowing. Whilst this seems like a blow to the average enthusiast, it’s just one perspective on the industry-take a different view, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

When you can’t even afford the affordable list 😭
Trill English I don’t know about you but I’m the kind that still has to save up for Seiko 5. It’s that bad 😭
Armani Quintas I’m with ya 🤜 lol Orient is “nice” for my budget lol.
ruclips.net/video/l981Yppew-c/видео.html
Get seiko automatic.. Well built and under $1000
Trill.E but then you realize that its a LUCURY WATCH and almost noone can afford that
This channel is very weird: you came here to unwind after a busy day, watching some ASMR-esque storytelling about beautiful things then get depressed knowing you can't afford them.
10/10 gonna come here again.
lol and it has 'cheaper' in the title. Tears on your pillow tonight courtesy of Watchfinder.
hangman13 This is the video you watch before you actually go out and buy one in 5 years when you can.
Take the 500 you were going to spend on a cheap watch and buy spx option contracts.. You might just get enough to buy a nice watch. I turned 300 into about 12k over a few months 👍 I'm wearing a planet ocean now vs the sarb I used to wear
@@jonathanrouse Then sell it when you can't afford to keep it anymore. . .
Well, perhaps it should serve as an eye opener: these are still mass market watches, meaning there is a “mass” of consumers willing to buy and able to afford them. The wealth in this world is much bigger than working class people (and the term is more not less inclusive these days!) seem to think. Perhaps it’s time for people to smell the coffee instead of slaving their whole life away for a few pennies, while a sizable chunk of the population buys things erroneously considered “expensive” without thinking it twice.
I think we need to rethink the meaning of the word "cheap"
I mean to be fair he used the word “cheaper”
😂😂😂exactly
like seriously that word is a killer word theses days

Same, bro)
Buy a Seiko.
The only place I’ve found for that is 49uNDER.com. Classic watches and all of them are less than $50. Surprised you don’t know about them.
Chris Lang because all of those watches are Ali-express/Wish garbage with movements costing about the same price as a can of coke
@@SK8TRvsCOPPS1o1 You obviously haven't bought a coke in a while ;-)
Anyway, you want something really cheap that can last decades: Seiko has watches in all price ranges.
ORIS and GS are nailing it this past several years.
True that
I think GS is too big imo
GLAD to hear, I received my Oris YESTERDAY and my GS is coming TOMORROW! Looks like TWO good decisions!
@@alalamari I'm getting my aquis clean ocean this week and I'm planning on getting a spring drive soon too
Antonio Venegas yeah I’m loving the Oris Artix Moonphase, I received Tuesday and goy my Grand Seiko Snowflake today.
I bought my Speedmaster Moonwatch about 15 years ago brand new on the high street for £1200. I love the watch and have worn it almost every day since but I cannot believe how crazy the price increases have been on these. My wages certainly have not kept pace with today's price for a Moonwatch that's for sure.
why not sell it

I think I'm in love with this channel. Best imagery, best story telling, best narrative, beautifully made videos, can't get enough!!!
The intro to this video and to every single watch you mentioned is like writing an essay and a topic sentence it’s just so good!!!
Best value luxury watch,
The Rolex Air King 5500
Its a proper Rolex in every sense, oyster case, perpetual winding, white gold hands on the later models, silver, black and blue dial options. It looks amazing on an orginal oyster bracelet, exotic or leather straps, i wear mine on a burgandy Crocodile which shows how versatile this watch can be.
Its accurate, simple in design, wear it to the gym or to the office, it's timeless, reliable and you can pick one up for less than £2000 if you look in the right places. I got mine from a reputable Rolex dealer for £1850 fully serviced with a 2 year warranty on the movement.
I bought my Air King for 2350 euros + shipping. I got bored on it pretty quikly so I sold for next person but still it is not a bad watch.
@Lucky Strike For me that Air king was like a entry level watch to this watch business. It was my second watch ever and my first watch was this 60e Tayroc I bought from sale. I made good amount of profit from it and it started my interest in this business so for a first "luxury watch" it would be good but it makes you to go for the big ones pretty quikly.
*SEIKO* is like *TOYOTA* in watch industries.
_Grand Seiko_ is like _Lexus_ in watch industries.
You are right,
Lexus and Grand Seiko market share might be equivalent, and irrelevant 🙂
@@alltheway99 Are you trolling or are you really this ignorant? Seiko is one of the biggest watch brands and Toyota is literally the richest automaker in the world.
@@LorianandLothric I edited my comment,
I had Lexus in mind. Toyota and Seiko are a different story, but Lexus... Is only in his fan's hearts, sales numbers and street presence state it clear,... So irrelevant 🙂
@@LorianandLothric I love Seiko and Toyota, they are 'honest' brands. They deliver good, reliable value.
Lexus,... Is just hype. People are not putting their money into it. But I guess each brand has it's fan boys 🙂

Fine review!
One of my favorites is the Sinn 104. Payable and precise
The Blancpain is amazing, I am actually looking into getting one. Thanks, as always amazing quality videos.
Best looking of the bunch shown today for sure, followed by the Oris, the Omega, the GS and, lastly the Rolex, in my opinion. But bang for bucks, for me it's (1) GS (2) Oris (3) Omega (4) Rolex (5) Blancpain.
Yeah, very nice
They also just released a Limited Edition Blancpain; it's quite wonderful.
Really? Watching all the mediocrity at 0:21, I thought it was a cheap brand watch, but I was surprised when it turned out to be a Blancpain ... what a disappointment!!
@@bannedaccount3752 Have you seen the attention to detail in the movement? You are talking about a 6000€ Blancpain and it is a flyback chrono with a very interesting date window and you can have that much from a horology figure like Blancpain for that money? For real I don't even know if we are talking about the same watch here.
Great video. Unique style and packed with detail in addition to being well narrated.
I recently bought my first Automatic watch. I ended up going with the Hamilton Khaki Pilot (Day/Date) and absolutely love it. It’s not a Rolex or an Omega but it’s a great watch for the price and I couldn’t be happier.
I just got one used like it very much. If you have a metal bracelet you'd like to sell let me know.
1:30 ran out of breath there lol
I love your videos, downright the best watch channel on youtube!
Amazing video, please make a part 2!!!
A masterpiece, great video. The Blancpain is always on my radar.

This channel is very calming.
If u have panic attacks and love watches this is the cure!
Hold up
I totally agree
I noticed I appreciate watches a lot more if I'm introduced to them by one of your videos than simply discovering them on a website. Thank you!
love such bargain watch videos, please keep it coming. thank you for another great video!
I have been watching almost every video on this channel. I just love it! But someday the narrator must do a facecam once. That voice is phenomenal!
What camera equipments are you using !? All these footages look astonishing.
Great list! Just bought a Speedmaster this year for all those same reasons and I love it! Maybe Blancpain next :)
Thank you for featuring a Blancpain
I know so little about them
Love the Blancpain. You can also get your hands on a decent Fifty Fathoms on a sailcloth strap for almost half retail used.
Junghans or nomos reviews would be amazing. Affordable and great looking
There's a couple of Nomos videos on this channel but one of them is focusing on the lambda (not quite affordable haha) and the other is showing how the other Glashutte watches have more detailed hand finishing.
Love the Club Campus and Neomatik. Can’t get past the minute markers though
Hi,I just love the educative stuff on watches done by you.My most favourite is The Ulysse Nardin from its inception to right now.Is it possible to do a clip on that??
I've never been a massive fan of Oris watches but recently I saw an Oris sixty-five in person and despite not liking any individual part there's something about the piece that is just beautiful and I am now going to save up and buy one, would love to see a review of it too
'Like that one guy in your office with one who tells the story to anyone within hearing distance'

Absolutely. Hasn't watchfinder been bought by Richemont? This is very unprofessional. I'm considering unsubscribing.

Don’t buy a watch because of the branding. Buy a watch that is appropriate for you to own and that is practical as it is enjoyable for you.

This is my favorite channel. The narration, videography and macro videography are top notch.
Love your videos. Could you please do a video on Annual Calendar complications, from cheap to holy crap!
I really love the citizen eco diver, it’s beautiful accurate and reliable and I use it for working out and surfing
Love the GS. I would also add Zenith El Primero to this list
This is an amazing watch channel👍 .. I can dream😁 and when I do make it I know that you and team have already done all the research needed so I can make a good decision on my first luxury watch.
I love my Oysterquartz. The ticking is hypnotizing, the case feels bigger than it is (because of the lugs) and it gets recognized by those who know and those who don’t (need to know) have no idea what it is. Been wearing mine since i was 15.
Could you make a video that shows difference between quartz vs fine quartz?
Oris has been killing it. Easily the nicest luxury watch in its price range.
@@ItsPlutonium noice
Probably true. And it is an independent house so that says something.
@@ItsPlutonium What are you? 12 years old or just a stupid troll?
I’ve personally seen some issues with Oris watches Quality wise; bezel inserts popping off, crown stems breaking, misaligned date wheels, etc. In the same price range but a different range of watches, Nomos Glashutte always outdo themselves in creating great watches at a great price point. still love Oris designs but no Oris for me for a while.
@@erikv1974 how many oris watches have you owned?
beautiful camera work. keep it up!
Love the look & what Oris be making lately.
I would love to see you review the Rolex Milgauss original and re-issue.
That BP is just stunning!
I’ve had a pretty good impression of the Nixon Sentry. It isn’t necessarily the cheapest, but it’s definitely less than a lot of other watches. It’s a simple timekeeper with a revolving calendar, stainless steel and mineral crystal. It isn’t spectacular, but it’s not bad, it’s just a good watch. $140 for a decent timepiece.
Thank you for such a passionate and at the same time rational reportage. Quartz watch mechanism is as alive and real as mechanism with a spring and balance... I think Tag Heuer wristwatches are very good deal.
3:48 I can listen to that Oysterquartz ticking away all day long.
When i hear the bit*h ticking i know i need to be doing something
Watching this wearing my week old longines hydroconquest auto. My first luxury everyday watch. In fact i got it and a 30mm conquest auto for my wife brand new from an AD for less than £1600. I see that as a real bargain
As always... great video!
I’ve been wearing my Oysterquartz every day for 35 years. Looks and runs as new.
Hi Gerald. I'm planning to buy an Oysterquartz. How is the servicing?
@@dwighthoward54321 you don't
What if it gets broken? I suppose it would be expensive to have it fixed
Dwight Howard it’s reasonably expensive but if you’re buying preowned just make sure that the watch has both the box and all papers, it is not stupidly cheap and also it’s good to contact a local luxury watch repairer and ask them to review the watch before you buy it which might run you a couple hundred.
@@dwighthoward54321 probably no spare parts available
That Blancpain is quite outstanding indeed. Good catch.
Excellent review as always
The El Primero 38mm can be found for a "good" price regarding its 5 Hz movement and history ! Damasko, Sinn, Laco and Stowa are making amazing pieces too : my choice over all of them is the Damasko DC58 black : 7750, shock proof, magnetic proof, scratch proof case, negative pressure resistant, WR 10 bar and pusher that can apparently be used under water even if I would not try, ... used by EADS pilots. All this goodness for 2.000 EUR ! But they also make in house movement these days !
It's a good day when watchfinder releases a new video.
Last time I was this early, well I wasn't actually, it's been only few seconds since you've uploaded this.
My bargain-watch is Tudor BB58, love that blancpain! Really stylish 😍
I have two watches I havent worn for years. But I love this channel. Bravo.
Oh, when my Omega Bond Seamaster GMT cost £1920 at Watches of Switzerland... That was only 12 years ago.
I still dream of GS snowflake....
Tested one yesterday. Beautiful dial, but have issue on the titanium - too light for my liking. Be hunting for a GS white dial SD GMT, or a Hi-Beat next year in Japan
Alexander Yuan agreed. Disconcertingly light. Put me off it completely.
yeah it's light but i like it. The lightness and the dial it's a plus for me. What i don't like is the size. But i Blame my small hand for that one.
Grand Seiko Quartz € 2000. Longines VHP Quartz € 1000. € 2000 for a quartz movement is always very, very expensive. 10,000 blacpain is simply ridiculous. But everyone decides. This is why there are thousands of watch models
@@maangel952 quartz?
Hey Watchfinder, love your videos. Could you do an in depth review of the JLC Master Control watch with the sector dial. Can't find many out there and less information. Was it a limited edition. That is one beautiful watch. Blue hands. Silver dial. Gold rotor on back. I want one. Need a review.
Always wanted a Blancpain flyback since the day i had no luxury watches at all , now i own several and that Blancpain Flyback is first on the list! What a beautiful piece!
What's even more of a bargain is the Citizen Chronomaster line, please review one if you can!
How about reviewing Credor, maybe something like Eichi II or the Sonnerie
mdr893
Those watches are too hard to get a hold of.
Great video. Grand Seiko and the Blancpain are the ones for me. I own a Grand Seiko GMT and I love it. Never owned a Blancpain before but I am saving for one after this video :)
That Oris Chroris is perfect. Arrow colored seconds hand and squared off minute and hour hand is simply perfection.
Guess who's here early? Love the quality of your uploads

the Blancpain is really beautiful
Great video as always. Thanks.
I own an Jules Jurgensen w/Diamonds around the bezel and on the 12-3-6 and 9 in 14kt white gold. Picked it up in the after market some 5-6 ago. Found out that it's now selling for double the price I paid. Underrated watch company in my opinion
Got myself a omega Speedmaster Reduced used for $1.5k in great condition! Definitely affordable compared to a new omega Speedmaster sapphire sandwich lol
Should i get it or get black bay 58 ?
Isnt that like a shit watch though?

DutchClawz do you really have to say that... As long as he is enjoying his Speedy Reduced, who cares?
Would love to see some more from Ball. Personally my favorite being the engineer II Arabic white dial.
This was a good one... thanks!
I like this channel. It shares info on watches one aspires to. The yearning for one, causes something to stir within, a motivator. When you get to where you want to be, then you reward yourself with that upmarket watch. Sure, one will never in their right mind buy an $850,000 platinum diamond encrusted watch as it is deemed risky in losing a gem and this the value freefall plummets. But one will buy a very well handcrafted watch that is one part practical and another part art and that comes with a fair premium. Again a time piece that inspires and aspires and acquiring it and wearing it as the reward for ambition. Importantly, let it be something you use every day to give it character, else it is a museum piece in a vault. A worn watch tells a story.
Love Blancpain, one of my favorite brands, really an underated true luxury watch brand⌚
@James Tudor Yeah, I definitely wouldn't say it's underpriced.
My favourite?
A used Omega Seamaster Master 300 in stainless steel.
You can get them for less then 3000£.
It is modern, with an amazing complication, it is incredibly pretty, it comes from Omega and honestly I can't see why it isn't more popular.
It is a modern take on one of the true classics. Hard to go wrong with that.
But why not buy new 300m, much superior in technology and with inhouse movement, if it's quite possible to get it brand new from AD for just a little more cash? (especially if buying tax-free or negotiating the price)
@@alexanders.380 you realise the Master 300 has the same movement as the regular 300?
What complication
The clock has no complications, but I agree with you and your choice.
Why is it not more popular? easy. Most people think that if the watch is more expensive will be better. and, rolex, a brand without social history, promotes a whole luxury environment that arouses desire. Valjoux was never better than Lemania ... but everyone decides. And about the urban legend about 904 l versus 316 l, I invite everyone to learn more about it. Atlas Steel website, for example, and the real properties of each material.
904 l is no better than 316 l. It has more resistance to acid attack. I didn't know anyone who threw their watch into a glass of sulfuric acid. but if I have known allergies with 904. that is why it is not used in implants and 316 l is used. there is no difference between 316L and 904L steel in terms of strength and hardness. Both have a similar Rockwell hardness (HRB) that is less than 95 and their tensile strength is approximately 490 MPa.
I studied physics and I regret the false information. Anyway, I'm too old for this and I'm sorry I wrote so much.
Great video. I recently bought a rolex airking 114234 for £3000 great watch the craftsman ship an detail is second to none
Bought my first Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Chrono from Watchfinder in Toronto about 4 years ago. Love it and have been offered at least 25% more than I paid for it a couple of times. If that’s not a great deal/bargain then I don’t know what is.
The reason the Oysterquartz is so cheap is because most people can't/won't service it and rolex has stopped producing parts for it.
It's a ticking timebomb (no pun intended)
Ah that explains why my local pre-owned watch specialist has been seeing an increase in Oysterquartz models lately. Some looked like a good deal, but I'm not a quartz person, now I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger.
@@neoth8647 They're definitely cool and unique in the sense that no quartz movement has that same design, but you'd have to be a gambler on a level far above my comfort level!
Yeah it is a good point but I feel like the biggest point is that it has Quartz movement which is let alone a terrible thing for you. Imagine if someone's look inside your watch and then they say, "Nice Rolex" and afterwards they read the last previous words left, "OysterQuartz" The word, "Quartz" really made even a guy who is not into watches know how cheap the watch actually is. No matter original or not, the Quartz movement is not the perfect idea usually in a luxury watch.
@@crownfedora5355 FPJ elegante ? Not luxury enough for you?

I love my Omega Speedmaster. Bought a used one for around US$800 at the advice of my friends.
I prefer swiss traditional brands, but that GS looked really good.
I quite fancy the Blancpain
Oris, Nomos and Tudor are great watches that don't require a six figure salary. Anyway, one watch really worth watching (pun not intended) for me has to be an Omega Speedmasters Reduced. Could pick them up for around 1500-2500. Love the design and the 38.5mm case is a deal breaker.
The Ulysse Nardin San Marco Dual Time is great value also I think when purchased used. Great finish, heritage and complications for brand new Longines money. Hope it gets a feature here to confirm my thoughts haha 😀

The reason Oris has those low prices is in the movement, sellita movements may look the same as an ETA but quality is the key, through time you will find problems that rarely an ETA would have.
I recommend try to avoid Selita movements, for that kind of money you may find a very good used watch, with the better ETA movements

Rolex doesn't make their own hands? I guess that means there's another company to share the blame for that disaster of a GMT hand we saw in an earlier Watchfinder video. Still no excuse for the abysmal QC on Rolex's part.
I still can’t believe that slipped past Rolex on a precious metal watch that expensive, not that I would complain if I was given one and the hand looked like that

Very interesting how we humans (well at least some of us) learn every day until we die. A year or two ago I did not understand why would anyone buy a Seiko for few thousands when there is Panerai, Omega, or Rolex, especially not the one that looks almost the same as $100 Seiko 5. Now after two years of thinking about watches at all I totally get it, Grand Seiko is magnificent in every way.
This somewhat translate to car design as well, one needs to grow and learn how to appreciate great design not only flashy and popular and what an average uninterested ignorant sees and likes. There is a path that leads you from lusting over generic BMW or Audi, and starting to appreciate beautiful design of an "ugly and awkward" Lancia.
Not that there is something wrong with Rolex or Omega, oh au contraire. Just everyone knows about them, you do not even need to be a watch enthusiast to be familiar with those two brands and their flashy and over present and over advertised designs, but to appreciate Grand Seiko the one should know at least something about watches.
