@@garri5108 that's also your opinion. It's definitely not comparable imo. Vander Graaf Generator is not my cup of tea nor Peter Hammill ..at all. Tool has their own sound; they have created their own genre.
They are a holy gift. I recognize this chance to celebrate being alive and listening.
Sometimes music finds us when we need it, sometimes it finds us when we're finally ready for it.
I didn't even realize you never reacted to this song.. that's wild. there's still no other band like them on this earth! Me and my husband have seen them 7 times in the last 4 years and it's not enough! I can't wait to see them again.

Also it turns out that this dude can actually sing plus he has that poets chip on his shoulder where he can make things edgy, powerful, beautiful and intriguing all at the same time. These guys are second to none ✌️
I was just mentioning to my wife the other day that there are multiple Tool songs with frogs. One of my most powerful real life nature sound experiences was frogs. It was an overwhelming sound. So weird that you mentioned it lol.
For me, 2024 has been the year of Tool. I have watched all your Tool reactions Nick and Alexia, and I have become a huge Tool fan, culminating with me seeing them live in Manchester in June. It was an amazing gig, a gig like no other I have seen, and I am fascinated by them. I have Fear Inoculum and 10,000 Days on CD and am working backwards through their catalogue so this will be my next purchase; but only once I fully understand those two albums. There's so much to process, listening to Tool, and you're absolutely right, they are unique.
I don't for one minute pretend to be able to dissect and analyse Maynard's lyrics, but it's interesting that the alternative spelling of parabol is parable, and of course, in the Bible, Jesus Christ's descriptive stories throughout the New Testament were called parables. So the 'holy' reference in the lyrics are quite thought provoking.

I love this video so much! I sent this song not just for the beauty of the music and superb musicianship of the band members, but also in hopes that the message of the song would be apparent and reach you! I had no idea it would actually happen the way it did. It had me crying as well. This song and this band helped me and still helps me through tough times. Times of doubt, times of fear, times of anxiety! I love you both dearly! This was a special video and experience for me! Very cool stuff. I just finished my 4th time watching! Love to all here!❤❤

This 2 track songs parabol/parabola are my favorite from that album! You guys should check out the next Tool song “Pneuma”. That may be one of their best songs they ever wrote.

@@NicknLex Puscifer's discography is chocked full of great music! They also do 2-3 different versions of many of their songs so you get different angles of a composition, it's genius really!

3 years ago, you reacted to Jambi, another one of my favourite Tool songs. But since I'm very ambivalent about Tool, I can copy my comment from back then.
Eric, this is just my honest opinion ☹
"This is a fantastic song, Lateralus is my favourite Tool album ! But : I don't know nothing about the musicians and somehow I don't feel like, I want to know them closer. And I will write now 3 things, for which Tool fans will hate me: 1. many Tool fans seem to be very intolerant, every time I read comments about bands that sound similar, Tool fans start whining as if everybody else had stolen their music. Can you imagine Black Sabbath fans would do so? They wouldn't do anything else than whining all their live. 2. I don't like the marketing strategy of the last album, 83 Euro is not worth to pay for any album, and the band should be glad that there are "older" people like me who go to the store and buy the "physical" CD. And 3. is about Danny Carey: he is a fantastic drummer, but he is not the best, because in music there is no best; I taught my son already in Kindergarden. There are so many other fantastic drummers as Portnoy, Mangini, Minnemann, Cobham, White, Mouzon, Moon, Bonham, Paice and and and ... it's just a question of personal taste and I think it is ridiculous and childish, if a music critic writes in a concert review: All drummers look like amateurs next to Danny ... how stupid to write something like that. OK Tool army, now you can start bashing .. I can stand it and you won't change my opinion :-))))))))))
