Good to see I'm not the only one finding more issues with my series the more I dig. Your one sure seems to have had a harsh life. The new camera quality is so much better, looking forward to watching the build in a good resolution. :)
Our 2 both had hard lives, hence the need to meld them together to have enough usable parts to do one build. Camera is much better but the mic/audio is rubbish when its in its protective case (which is much needed). I have ordered an external condensor mic to overcome that problem, should be here by workshop day this weekend hopefully :-)
the best antirust inhibitor i have found for inside Landrover chassis. is a good dose of thick black diesel waste .oil twice .a year the. more dust that sticks the better
Yer na Warren, old school but probably a bad idea as the sump oil is inherently acidic and can contain emulsified water, both will increase rather than prevent corrosion. Dirt and soil that attach to the sump oil will also maintain high moisture content, high electrical conductivity, high acidity and high dissolved salts which all increase corrosion. Sump oil and soil mix is like a corrosion poultice! A clean chassis with an appropriate inhibitor will extend the life of you chassis.
The work on this LR chassis only goes to show how much easier it is to maintain a channel-section chassis generally found on American and Japanese trucks.
Hi Steve, another great video, I'm watching them as I come across them, keep safe mate, best regards from Melbourne.
Thank you Les, glad you are enjoying the episodes. Hopefully Victoria will be back to normal soon and you can get out and about on some adventures.

Hidden issues? That's every resto project I've ever done. At the time it's a pain. When you look back, it's part of the fun.

Bonjour, saurais-tu me dire où se trouve le numéro de chassis ? Merci
It varies from series to series
I find it strange how people can work in the grime in buttoned down long sleeves, unless it is very cold, which I doubt
It does get cold here
