For anyone that sees this who has donated to us via paypal - firstly thank you! Your donations are still going straight to Project Awesome. Secondy I did not list you in the credits for this little side story - you will all get a proper shout out in the next proper episode! While I'm at it, many thanks to everyone that has carried on supporting us in any way even by just watching the videos! Cheers Max
"I have a plan for this!" "Yeah. Does it involve the digger?" isn't that far off though! Or his final words: "The important thing's now: which hedge do we put these in for the next two years?"
Just binge watched the entire Project Awesome series for no specific reason other than it's totally nuts and entertaining in a uniquely 'eccentric brit' way. One unexpected bonus for me (and I'm not sure Max will like this...) is that I make scale millitary models, and Project Awesome provides a fantastic opportunity to observe a timelapse of how a millitary paint job fades and weathers. I totally admire your crazy dedication and look forward to the day that it's all done and finished! (Oh except that bit still needs fixing and I'll have to replace this other bit after I've done whatever it is that I need to do to make that other bit work, and... well that shouldn't have just happened!). All power to you guys... long live Project Awesome!!
What an absolute treat.......also that high hedge is just the job for absorbing the noise , fumes and blastng granules...another great informative and entertaining video from your goodself .
Mark must love having you as a friend max, gets to come round and play with all the your toys. When I was a kid I had a friend who lived 3 doors down who’s dad bought him all the good stuff like swimming pool, bouncy castle, a proper football goal with line markings on his lawn and we all basically lived at his house. I can only imagine it being like that 🤣
Project Awesome is too awesome to remain a project. The world is a smidge better for having people like you two in it. Dance electronica church organ music on a cold war truck built in a forest.... is, well, inspirational. Please fix it or explain what the sticking points are; someone might be able to help overcome a hurdle. Best of luck in all your endeavors.
As someone that suffers from OCD neat freakomnia and runs naked in his fields when he see's a wardrobe in colour, style and length format with shoes to match at its base. This video was a horror movie for me. On the other hand it was very funny and fascinating at the same time, not the engineering parts but how Marks hair and beard survived being sucked into those moving parts. I shall now go and shower. Keep it up boys. Bravo!.
Maximus.... I'm so glad to show this to my other half to prove I am not the only one with a place and bits of plant like yours...... Respect to you my friend.
Always worth it to see a rare Soviet beastie in all her glory, you should do a spares run to somewhere like the Chernobyl exclusion zone where abs stacks of abandoned Zim's lay there. All radiation free but just rusting quietly.
Well this illustrates a problem we all encounter from time to time, a straightforward project needs a week of tidying up sorting out and finding things first. At least you had a willing helper and the banter was helping to pass the time as you dug back to the generator set...
This video really cheered me up. What a twosome. I just imagine all those landrover parts and bits of engine all waiting their turn in the hedge, praying for the day they hear Max say that magic word 'let's take these parts to the workshop'
these videos are very cathartic to watch. being with a good mate, doing some solid work on solid earth. the way its been done for millennia. keep up the good work!
An enthralling tribute to patience, persistence and ingenuity. I could watch hours of this. And I kept thinking “when Max is gone the hedges will reclaim every inch.”
I love your place something in every hedge but you know where everything is it's brilliant always a surprise when a video comes never know what we are going to see
Watching you two giving life back to the hedgerows gives me hope with all the cr@p I need to sort out. I could listen to the banter for hours. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to see your wearing a helmet and visor, a friend of mine has recently lost his eye with one of these! the nozzle exploded and went through his mask! Don't think it was as tough as yours.
Brilliant; the old crew back in action! =;-)) Tell you what; once Craddocks runs out of Landy parts, people in the know will be beating a path to your gate, Max.
@Maximus Ironthumper, if your blasting outside, might be worth while using Copper Slag as that is a use once media and then you don't have problem with Silica from the sand.
I think we've learned more about your life on this video that all the others put together lol! Would love to see some drone footage of your yard Max, might find some stuff even you'd forgotten about :-) Have a great weekend!
I pissed my pants laughing when Mark says at 4:00 minutes in "If your caught skinny dipping in Ireland.... That's a valid defense in court isn't it? Maximus: Nooo! :D
Think you're gonna need a hedge fund for the errr storage hedges :o good to see I'm not the only one that keeps a 2&1/4 lump around, not sure why, I'll never use it :)
New to your channel, Havent watched everything, but I might be out of turn here, but you should give that massey a good hug, pretty faithful mate for you, doesnt get much quid pro quo.
I particularly liked the built in carrying handle in the middle of the Zil roof. Can you get out of that helmet on your own or would you suffocate if the generator runs out if diesel and your mate has wandered off for a cuppa?
i hope you guys are laughing half as much as i did .. now put that roof back on the truck , put the blasting gear on the truck , mobile blast anywhere . gave a thumbs up .... carry on .
@@Ragnar8504 Somewhere on BOM's channel, there's a parallel conversation going on about hand-made knives and installing organ pipes into an ex military truck...😃
Boys and their toys. Good to see the curious mincer back with his lockdown beard, and, to appreciate the only good reason to be wearing masks for the last year. Great content, thank you.
Well, apart from reducing the risk of infecting your granny and then watching her die a slow, agonising, lonely death from Corona virus of course. I guess you forgot about that ......?!
I get the feeling that Mark has a lot of anxiety being on your property with everything thrown around. He's in a video and suddenly engines are properly stored on pallets, strapped down and moved (inside a building?) and other things are moved around the yard and things look more tidy. Poor Mark and his anxiety 😂😂😂
Hello Max, As always you get the job done... the big question is where to you store the engines you put on pallet, hopefully not another hedge... lol. Take care. Paul,,

Mark saying "Why do you grow this stuff?" was comedy gold.

I do enjoy the banter between you and Mark! It makes it feel as though the World is getting back to normal again! Thanks both!

You no it surprised me how much the hedges take over and just berry everything 👍👍👍
Love the two mates banter. Its like 10year olds with big boys toys as all projects should be, fun in the sun with your mates. Lovely stuff
Fab vid, great fun, unbelievable how those old Diesel engines fire up after years of neglect.

Can't wait to see the next step in this project! Somehow I've just discovered it recently after watching your channel for a long time. Good stuff!

So good to see you two back on screen together! Doesn't matter what you two are up to! Always a good watch!
Yes! Spungel trumpet himself is back! How good was that!?! Thanks lads. Much entertainment there. 😁👍👊😎
That's a good sand blaster I think it's old but it does a brilliant job, good video 👍👍

I love your place something in every hedge but you know where everything is it's brilliant always a surprise when a video comes never know what we are going to see
Hahaha... Love it!! Which hedge.... Hahaha
I do wish my hedges had as much cool stuff in them as yours do
When you were talking about the compressor, I was wondering if it was buried under a mountain of crap. I wasn't disappointed, great video as usual.

So far, I've enjoyed all your vids, Max. When you two get together, the chat and banter is even more fun and relatable. Cheers.
For people who find crate engines a little out of their price range, we now have pallet engines ready for shipping!

Very interesting Max 👍
Great entertainment, the front grill and roof came up amazing.

Stick an old axil under compressor so its easier to move . We know your clever enough to do it . Cheers from Australia
Nice one thank you, very therapeutic 👍

I Laughed out loud. Because I am doing things exactly the same way. Thanx Max and Mark.
Just love the machine gun powered tip truck
We enjoyed that, Dad was shouting instructions at you
I love the way everything looks old and knackered apart from you guys.
Brilliant video, informative and funny 😂👍🏼

Lol.. you've just won the youtube restoration sandblast competition
Hey max, ever thinking of projects awesome - side project II building a big storage shed to stop all your treasures getting so rusty?? 🤣
Think you're gonna need a hedge fund for the errr storage hedges :o good to see I'm not the only one that keeps a 2&1/4 lump around, not sure why, I'll never use it :)
I would say that the difficulty level of giving this equipment functioning again is comparable to the effort required to raise Lazarus
Love it brilliant thanks lads
cheers max
Splendid stuff! Always fun and inspiring. Just a side note, I think the barbers are open now.......
Glad to see the “A-Team” back together, talking of A’s, Project Awesome? 😉👍🏻🛠
Enjoyed that. Great stuff.
Mark sporting a proper pirate beard. I mean.. proparrgh.
I half expected Mark to fly away with a jet pack.

Nova 2000 $650 US Dollars WOW no wonder Max is proud of it
You should build a big wooden or concrete room like u did for the smelting tools to catch that sand and re-use it
Perhaps the next thing to shotblast is the shotblaster itself...
This is Max' channel and not BOM though. Not sure if that's going to be considered necessary.
@@Ragnar8504 Oh, alright then. (How about welding some sort of bracket to it though? 😚)
@@graememorrison333 That seems quite possible. Even with the aid of CAD templates.

At 17 minutes it looks like something from Dr. Who, just with better lighting.
You guys should Really consider blasting as a part time job and really fix up that diesel compressor!
Ooh is that a 2.25P with SU carb I spot? I can see a new project around that 😂
I will have to wAtch it again and look out for the motor, I was too busy drooling over the gearbox and transfer case laying on the ground!

Biggest requirement when blasting with air-cooled diesel compressor .. no neighbours 😂😂.. sadly I bought an old compressor before I realised that 😂😂😬🙉
Tough stuff, but that did look like fun!
