- Is your front fork binding or are you unsure if the alignment of your front axle is correct?
99% of the time this comes down to not having your front suspension forks not sitting in their most relaxed position.
In this video you will see a step by step guide how to properly mount the front wheel of your motorcycle to make sure the front forks are parallel to each other.
I'm using a Honda CRF300L but the idea will very similar on many other motorcycles.

Thanks for checking it out! Would love to hear your feedback!
Great job being thorough and giving good explanations on what you're doing and why. Thanks!!!
My pleasure!
Great explanation. Also, that little important part about not wiggling the handle bars after alignment! And before retightening of bolts.
easy to understand and very useful. Thank you bro
Thanks for the comment, Boris!
Hi Italo, yet another great information video and Thank You for the education about the front fork / wheel spindle potential misalignment.
I learnt something new today!
Thanks as always for the comment, Adrian!
Great explanation! Thank you for another awesome video
Glad you liked it, Russell!
Legend, thank you. I just changed front wheel and was confused about this part. I honestly know almost how to do my bike entirely thanks to your videos!
Great to hear, mate!! That’s the goal! I want to build up a series of videos showing every detail about on maintenance on the CRF300L!
Cheers
Greetings,
As always another brilliant detailed video production 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸
Why would I have to do this alignment, any type of symptoms, or do I have to do this every 6 months? (What is the reason)
Keep producing more videos about the CRF.
Hi Roberto!
Thanks for the positive comment!
This should be standard procedure when tightening the front axle. Always do the axle first, compress the suspension then finish with the pinch bolts.
If the axle is not aligned you would increase the wear of the front suspension bushings
15 Nm, non 22
In my manual it's 22Nm for pinch bolts. Just make sure to tighten them several times one after the other because they influence each other by deforming the base metal.
On mine also says 22nm
@@RoiaMoto The manual also reports 29 Nm for the lower fork bridge, which is clearly a mistake, every mechanic knows it, even the 22 Nm for the leg is too much, there is no point in tightening that much, and you risk ruining the thread.
Thanks for sharing! Wasn’t aware about that
