At 13 in 1970 taking my SL 70 to the Honda dealership for maintenance of any kind wasn’t something I even considered. I genuinely didn’t think that was even a thing. Tires, chains, plugs, levers, oil, filters, etc all done at home. When the frame cracked from jumping, dad took it to some guy to weld it.
If you want to get the rear wheel aligned ..just move the adjusters until the chain is centered on the rear sprocket when spining by hand getting same spacing on each side .
Align the rear wheel by rotating it while on the stand. If there are clicking noises, the sprocket teeth tips are hitting the chain outer cover.... adjust until there are no clicking noises.
Okay I get that the chain has to move 30-40 mm but with how much pressure? Like it’s going to move different amounts depending on how much pressure I put on it.
Press the bottom part of the chain up as far as it can go without the top part lifting. Search for a video titled 'How To: Standard Motorcycle Swingarm Chain Adjustment' from Dave Moss Tuning if yo need a video example.
People don't realised your video is a guide , chain slack to be confirmed by owner hand book , thanks for the time you took to make the video. My honest opinion is the hate comments are People are never wrong, I see it on my own channel 👍
Once your alignment is right you just need to turn the tensioners evenly ie half a turn each side 46k and 17 years out of the OEM chain and sprockets 🤙 rubber side down.
Terrible or at least inaccurate (literally) advice (the tick marks on the swing arm are notoriously inaccurate). The tip I liked is to find an industrial fluorescent tube and lay it alongside the rear tire. That will show where it's pointing. Fiddle with it a little until left and right sides are pointing at the same thing in relation to the front tire, and your rear tire is aligned. The rear tire is more important than allining things by the chain, which doesn't make any sense to me. * And you will absolutely have tight and slack sections of the chain. Spin the back tire until you find the tightest place and use that to measure the slack. And don't tighten it to the max of the spec, do it rather to the middle. The tighter you make it, the sooner you will stretch your chain out.
Another good tip: invest in some quality aftermarket chain adjusters as well as an alignment tool. I myself and a few other people went to Lightech and had issues but overall they’re a good investment. I switched to some from Gilles and haven’t looked back. Whichever maker you go with is a great investment, they make the job of adjusting and alignment so much easier. At the very least, spend the $15 on an alignment tool like the one from motion pro and be happy
I've known guys that ride with 2 inches of slack. I tried telling them but they're stubborn. I mean, they ride with no mirrors and won't listen about that either.
You don’t have to do all that extra bs when aligning your wheel. Use those tick marks where the tensioner is and make sure they’re the same on both sides.
Slack is bike dependent bro .. for an MT-07 you're looking between 51-55mm Just be careful, 30-40mm would have my chain whipping my ass on the freeway 😂
"Sometimes there's 80 more of the tyre you can use" any litre bike rider that has chicken strip's like that and still has a go at straight line heroes, needs to be on tricycle! Get your pedal on and maybe service your indicator elements while you're at it!
so i guess those hatch marks and adjustment bolt on the swing arm are there just for giggles? get TF outa here with that BS iv'e been road racing for 35+ years you give really bad advice to new rider .
Lmao, your vids have been poppin up and I gotta say man, ur funny af. Ur little shots at people are pretty entertaining.
Glad you’re not offended 😂
@@adobomotowe love you 😂😂😂😂 you are crazy
Hey hey let’s leave my pegging business to myself and my spare time ok 😂
So you’re “anal like that” huh? 😂

Remember to measure slack at multiple points of the chain, you could have a tight spot in chain.
That means you needa replace chain

For alignment, measure the threads in the bolt for adjusters. They use the same bolts for each side.
As long as each bolt has the exact same number of threads, or are exactly equal length
Hell naw
Your awesome man I been watching your videos for a couple years now I absolutely love the wrap vids keep it up man you do great work
Bro i died when ya said pegged omfg so true.
My dad always leaves his bikes really loose the chain kick always baffles me when I go on a ride on his bike
Or just replace worn out chain and check the rear sprokects if it is "sharkfin" meaning it needs to be replaced.

Great advice just one nitpickn 1 inchcloser to 25mm
25.4mm

Getting pegged 😢😂😂😂 broo that was out nowhere !
"Mines closer to one inch"
Thank you ADOBO MOTO Godspeed..
Looking his rear wheel wear mark! Dude didn’t even corner his bike! Bet he’s riding like my Father who is 72 years old.
Me having a skill issue; If my chain is pulling left side closer is that an adjustment screw issue?
What if your 1 to 2 mm off in aligning the rear tire?
bruuhh this is the thing i needed to know thanks
just adjusted mine i think i got it all aligned
what about one sided swing arm?
I believe they're even easier.. They're self aligned. The wheel only moves back and forth being in alignment all the time
It doesn’t need alignment because it only moves in 1 direction (back and forth)
I use a caliper on each tensioner to align mine
That's genius!
Thanks
@@RuledByMars just make sure to double check after you tighten the axle bolt 😎
I have a lot of slack in my chain because I’m a fat ass and it tightens down when I sit down
why isn't the monoshock centered?
rearset mounts arent always the same on both sides.
Went once to the dealer when I ist started to ride for a chain adjustment. When it needed it again I said fuk this and taught myself 😂
Attention other idiots: not every bike has the same chain tension. Check yours on the swing arm sticker.
1 inch... 25.5mm... just saying. Love your content and keep on the gsxer jokes coming😂
I see you couldn't help but mention the "pegs" again.🤨

That's what the manual says to do. I have been doing that for 6 years, and I have not had any trouble yet.

Mabuhay ka bro
Bagsik ng bike mo👍
Chain tension isn't fixed for every bike and every chain, go read owner manual for more detail or that info on swing arm for basic!
I've known guys that ride with 2 inches of slack. I tried telling them but they're stubborn. I mean, they ride with no mirrors and won't listen about that either.
NO SABÍA QUE LOS SUDIS SABÍAN DE APRILIAS DEPORTIVAS !!!
Still surprised people go to a mechanic to adjust their slack 😂
I'm a mechanic, some people can't even swap their own tyres with a spare wheel...
bruh things something expands in the back 🤣
That is the sloppiest chain I’ve ever seen.. but I ride a gixxer so I keep mine so tight it doesn’t even move.. but it adds extra speed
Let's make video for splendor
1” = 25.4mm
So many extra steps! Just get an alignment tool.
One inch=2.25cm or 22.5 mm. That’s not 30 millimeters😂
One inch =25.4mm. Where tf did you get 2.25 from?
Lods pinoy kaba?

So we're the idiots 🤣😂🤣😂
Motion pro wheel alignment tool
24.5mm = 1"
Aprilia has info table stickers all over the bike..kinda cheesy bro.
😂😂😂
The rear tire should be os the ground and compressed by the rider

More like putting a hole through your crankcase. Lmao

The actual best way is to use a laser instead of a measuring tape

Idc what the factory says you shouldn't either because they don't do shit right its built to break
That's why you buy ducati so you dont got to deal with wheel alinment!
Your slack is incorrect my way of measurement
