Yeah the SDMax seems a little iffy sometimes. I'm going to try to play some multi-disk Phantasie on it. See how that goes.

Great comparison! How do they compare to the SD-Cartridge based solutions? I have the SDrive but probably would have gotten the SIO2SD going back. Just rare glitches.

I would say they’re inferior when compared to the UnoCart (which unfortunately seems to be unavailable atm), but superior when compared to Lotharek‘s SIDE2 cartridge. The SIDE2 cartridge only offers some benefits when you have a modded/upgraded device or if you manage to get it running in Hard-Drive-mode (which I wasn’t able to achieve). If you just use it as a game loader, then the only format you can use is XEX. ATR files on the other hand won’t work. So, in that regard the SIO2SD is much better.
Should the UnoCart ever become available again, then all I can say is: grab it! That one recognises even CAR-formats, and thus enables you to run the educational master cartridge. Plus, it seems to offer internal RAM to load games that exceed 48/64k. I was able to run 256k software on a standard 800XL - which is pretty amazing.

I have the max version, and screwed it up in minutes, lol. Accidentally got into the config screen, and now can't get back into it.

That's a pity! Was there no support or advice available on any of the forums?

@@rcw-europe I got in touch with the builder, and he told me how to recalibrate the screen. It works fine on my A400 now.
