Really glad to have heard the advice about the locking of the elbows. I'm only a little over a year into my lifting career, and will remember this for all the gains to come!
Thank you for your video! I'm a long term gym goer and I have been locking out my elbows even at high weight and had massive bruises at the bottom of my triceps (guessing the tendons) and my elbows always hurt a lot. You're the only source on the internet that gave me insight into what I was doing wrong. Appreciate you Fouad X
Thank you guys for the clarification regarding narrow/wide grip difference. I tried both today and did feel like it hit like the explanation, but to get affirmation of what I had felt, got on the internet and searched about it and second video I look at; we have Prof. Fouad clarifying the issue! :) LIIIIFFFFTTTT !!!
Great information brotha. I really like how you indicated that a wider hand placement on the bar will put more focus on the long head. I find that far too many people complicate exercises, especially when doing their triceps and biceps by utilizing needless overhead or curl positions. I always feel my long head activated during wide grip and reverse grip press downs.
I just did triceps this morning and wish I knew this. Maybe I'll do it during lunch when I hit biceps. It's ok, I didn't plan on using my arms this weekend anyway.
Great advise re: elbow tendonitis and exactly what I've been battling as I am coming up on 2 yrs of dedicated weight lifting (after 40 years of dedicated rock climbing). You are the only one who I've heard discuss this and hence, I'm a subscriber now. Thanks man!
I saw the hand rope replaced with the bar grip and I was like what the? Tried it out and my goodness! This activated my triceps like never before! Love the bar much more than the rope.
2:00 I like how he tells you not to do that without giving a rationally explanation as to why. That work out is the mother of all tricep workouts. There is a reason why the pros do it
Look to evan centopani tricep video. Doing the things that you are not suggesting. But his triceps have insane amount of pure straitions. What about that?
I understand the benefit of stepping in at the end for the cheat reps, but be aware that in that position if the cable snaps the bar will hit you right underneath your jaw.
This guy is actually wrong. The close grip works your lateral head not medial. Also locking out your elbows for a split second is been proven to actually strengthen the joints. As long as you don’t lockout and then hold the weight there. For instance when people squat they lockout and will then hold the weight for a few seconds before they go down for another rep. This is bad because the weight is being held for more than a split second to help you rest.
Actually he makes a good point, when going really heavy i.e 8-9 plates locking out does put strain on my elbow joint. I tend to only lockout when i do my dropset at half my max to really break down the muscle.

Older lifters (35+) should also consider not-locking out, even if they are still pushing light weights.
When I grip the straight bar I only feel the bar on my putter palm when I keep my wrists perfectly forward

Is there a way to hit both heads or should I just do both variations back To back

Dont lock the elbow is the worst advice ever
If that's the worst advice you've ever received, you'll be alright in life 😜
Karlito fitness Ive already noticed the elbow pain and I havent hit 2 years yet. Rather save my elbow then have the biggest tricep possible.
Actually he makes a good point, when going really heavy i.e 8-9 plates locking out does put strain on my elbow joint. I tend to only lockout when i do my dropset at half my max to really break down the muscle.
