Ben is certainly the best chess lecturer on the planet. No one else has his ability to take grandmaster level ideas and explain them simply to lower rated players.
Game against Shakh is absolutely brutal, applying pressure and sacrificing material for an attack against one of the best players in the world. No fear, just pure skill.
Did any extraordinary past GM before engines play an unusual number of "computer" moves (e.g. Fischer, Kasparov, Tal, etc.)? I recall in your Fischer lecture, you'd show a crazy sacrifice or something and say, "This is the #1 engine move". Not sure if that was a case of Fischer playing an engine move or the engine playing a GM move.
Maribor is actually the 2nd largest city in the beautiful Slovenia. Very nice city as well, but I still like Ljubljana a bit more. Thank you for another great lecture, Ben!
As a lowly 1400 that really likes puzzles, I saw king f1 instantly. The idea of finding that move before the rook sac however... is crazy, like fox news
In first position the commentary went 1. Nh4 Bd6 2.Ng6 hxg6 3. hxg6 Qc7 4. Qh5 Be5 5 Qh7+ Kf8 6 Qh8+ Ke7 7. Qxg7 + Kd6 8 Qxc7?? + Kxc7 9 dxe5 “ I guess this rook ending is winning for white because of all the extra pawns” why not 8 dxe5 + winning the queen?
Credo / Creed is a strong belief or a principle. Ben has many: Never play f6; always play Bf1; always retreat etc. Yasser's credo is: If you are losing you might as well be up material Credo isn't a chess only word though. Anyone can have a credo about anything. YOU probably have a credo. However the word is usually only used when talking about someone else's strong beliefs.
All I can say is I m glad Tal's way of playing is coming back reinforced by computer tech. Good future for chess. If you use the computer all time to practice you should be picking up. By the way, I do thing it s not easy and few people can do it but if you go by what you are teaching namely, check all checks, captures and threats, it should not be impossible for a very talented player to see those moves.

You mean explain to the gawking rabble
you mean best lecturer in his chair
This might be my favorite lecture ever. Go Ben
"We have a lot of sponsored lectures coming up, so there will be a lot of Monday lectures like this one" - music to my ears!

18:24 Knight E7 is such a great find. Really nice lecture, thanks.
Not just Ne7, he had to see that 3 moves ago when he played Nh3 -> g6 -> e7. To even get that idea when your knight is on f3 is crazy
The New "King of End Game" was born. Nodirbek Abdussattorov.
I love Abdusattorov, he complicates everything
He's my favorite young player. I love his style and his demeanor at the board. Supreme confidence in himself.
I respect this video just for the concept. Ben, you are a legend in my eyes forever!
"He doesn't make all the engine moves, just the good ones"
Thank you GM Ben for this video!
good stuff. this is what we come for. keep it up, ben.
To all the people criticizing his name. Nodirbek? What a classy name, a kind of fashion 😂
Nodir means "rare" with a slight taste of precious, like in "rare earth metals". So, yes, classy!
That first interference and the last game was Brutal with a capital B. Romantic chess is back. Just mixed with the solid to go with it

Thrilled of this lecture, couldn't have been done better, thanks a lot! I am older than you, Ben, but still in the Double-older generation 😂
Will soon be in the become chess players, number 1 from Uzbekistan in the World
38:00 rd1 wasn't a computer move! That was a Morphy move, the old younger Finegold would have said.
Yesssss more please, i love these XD
Great lecture!

We can see the board!
Not only is he a great player, the USA is right there in his name!
just wanted to shout that we can see the board here
Let’s go
I CAN SEE THE BOARD!
The only accurate way to express a player's age is by the number of days.
Can I sponsor a lecture on Rufus and Dufus?
Future king
When is erigaisi Arjun's video Ben ?
I know Ben says that the new crop are playing like computers, but they seem to be playing Morphy-style for an advanced generation imo.
Rxe4 obviously
Missed opportunity to call it "Great Player of the Future"
The thing is Abdusattorov is a great player very right now.
Credo ? What he meant by Yasser sirawan credo

@@LukePettit thanks 🙏 for details. And credo means (I believe). In Italian language
أعتقد
Ben is usually pretty good with pronunciation. But... it's NOH dihr bek, not NOR dihr bek. He said NOR at least four times early on.
u ok bro? not that serious
He butchered the Indian names too lol. It's just the accent man, don't think too much.
Who is Shahryar?
mamedyarov
Joe mama
👍💪

He should change his name to make it easier
Узбекистан олга
his name is easy.
By watching his crazy moves, Nodirbek is just a kind of Fashion. Don't be jealous guys 😂
Is the world championship going to be on a trial this year ?
