I've always found playing against an isolated pawn much easier than playing with one, despite being an attacker. Very much appreciate a comprehensive rundown!
Interesting- I’m a very boring positional player and I’ve always felt more comfortable with the IQP! Maybe I’ve gotten mated too many times playing against the IQP before.
Yeah, highly enjoying it as well. (Missing the audience a little, like Arjun/Archer/etc, mainly etc. But even without a live audience, I'm highly enjoying the lecture-style content!)
This is a cool topic to have a lecture on - I knew the "abstract" benefits of each side, but the concrete examples really helped explain what to do as each side
I've always hated having the IQP, despite knowing that it could be good in many situations. A lesson on this topic is exactly what I need, and who better to get it from than Ben. ❤ as per usual.
I can't seem to catch Ben's lectures live on chesstv/twič whatever, but always enjoy at replays on yt... He is simply an Interesting teacher (and over all well educated guy)... One can hardly get bored... which is my general experiance with other chess streamers. Go Ben!
Thanks for this lecture, I like to play the queen's gambit and the tarrasch when ever the opportunity arises. I look forward to the next isolated queen pawn lecture 👍

Ben is acting a bit jittery. Speaking faster than normal. Licking his lips a lot, funny mouth twitches, etc. Not his usual relaxed, funny, smooth delivery. Sorry Ben, but I noticed.

9:35 today eventually doesn't happen. Ben is a genius at bringing a concept in a humorous way.
Always quality coming from GM Finegold! Thanks for this new focus on lecture style content.

Mikhail Tal, attacking master.
Playing blitz, which is all tactics.
MAN I WONDER WHO IS GOING TO WIN

Criminal that GM Finegold didn't link the St. Louis Chess Club en passant class for beginners, which i could not find on the ol search bar.

Love these positional lectures. Thank you!

22:20 When Tal offers a piece, taking it is usually a bad idea.
@@angc214 But not taking it is worse. When Tal sacrifices a piece, you’re in trouble
@@raf5984 You're playing Tal. You're screwed on move 1.
There’s an old saying: If Tal sacrifices, take then calculate. If Botvinnik sacs, calculate then take. If Petrosian sacs, resign
Top notch as usual, food for thought. Thanks Ben!
Amazing video!thanks Ben and sponsors !
Go Ben!! Watching your videos is one of my favorite ways to make my game better.
thank you so much for this video! I love the english opening deeply and feel unsure about a couple of IQP positions that occur
Thank you! Nice games and analysis, and always uniquely funny!
26:05 "Tal wasn't good at being healthy" yeah, no kidding. But damn, the man was good at life.
Thanks very much, Ben. It's great.
Great lecture!
Thank you

Your the best. I have stolen quite a few of your jokes this year👍thanks!
Suetin's exd5?? makes the game look like a prearranged win for White.

If you have twitter or facebook, Ben makes announcements on there about upcoming classes! - Ben’s Editor
@@GMBenjaminFinegold So, clicking the notification option which would notify me is pointless? Why do they even have that then?

First. Thanks for the video.
I feel like you can‘t even play chess right if you don‘t like IQP‘s.
Tarrasch said that, too. You shouldn’t play chess if you can’t play with an IQP.
“He who fears an isolated queen’s pawn should give up chess.”
engines can't detect isolated pawns
