      And im looking for something with sturdy build quality because i put my stuff through alot of rough and tumble.

    • @steveforbes9302
      @steveforbes9302 Год назад +4

      @@thegeth4293 Personally, I can't bring myself to recommend this based on my experience with it now, in hindsight that is. Mine worked fine for a few weeks, then AWCC started shitting the bed (sometimes wouldn't start at all even after reboot), games wouldnt run properly (memory leaks and stuttering) when they would run fine on my old laptop. CPU would throttle hard almost instantly with any load. Did 3 clean installs of windows 11 to try weed it out, but to no avail.
      I can however recommend the Dell warranty/support. After a month and a half of back and forth with tech support trying to figure out what the problems were, they agreed to a full refund. I'm sure not everyone has this experience with theirs, but these are just my opinions.

    I bought x17 R1 (11th Gen) last year
    and have been using it for over a year now. I would say, the review is accurate. The x17 is thin but not really portable anyway, because it's still very large, chonky, and heavy. The performance is just okay (for its class and price). The 4-fan design doesn't really help much, you can get the same result from 2 larger fans with good Fin, Pipes, and/or Vapor Chamber.
    It definitely has flaws, but it's not a bad laptop.
    For most people, Lenovo Legion, Asus, MSI, might be a better pick (for price and performance). Get this Alienware if you like its unique look, design, and premium quality. I love it a lot. Also, RTX 3080 Ti Laptop is not really worth in general (for other laptops too), 3070 Ti is the best deal.

A 15 inch machine plus its massive powerbrick is all I can carry around in my bag. There are some limitations on the customization options for this laptop. For roughly $3,580 these are the limitations as far as choices. To make a long story short, you cannot customize this laptop according to your own wishes. If you choose more hard drive, or Windows 11 Pro, there are trade-offs. The specs listed below are for the 4K Screen. The NVIDA 3080 Ti is not available with this set-up. I hope this makes sense, but if you log onto the Dell website and check the options for this laptop, you will understand what I am saying:
    12TH GEN INTEL COR I9 12900H PROCESSOR
    1 TB M-2 PCLE NVME SSD
    32 GB RAM
    WINDOWS 11 HOME ENGLISH
    NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 GRAPHICS CARD
    17.3 UHD 3480 X 2160 120 HZ SCREEN
    LUNAR LIGHT
    ALIENWARE X SERIES THIN KEYBOARD
    Also, I am wondering which Dell docking station would be compatible with this laptop. Thanks.

      All X15 and X17 with 3070 and above have liquid metal stock. Yes, the left speaker makes cracking sound which kind of annoying even changing new speaker won't fix it (reports from many people on the internet), some people fix it using tissue paper and stick it on the left speaker but I haven't tried it out yet so don't know if that work. I am currently waiting to replace a new speaker to see if that help.

    Something is definitely off with that Cinebench score. My X15R2 i9 12900H scored 18300 in multi-core, far higher than this. There must be driver issues or something, because there’s no way my machine should out-perform the X17 to that degree. Unless they decided to just cripple the cpu and go all out on the gpu, but in a cpu-only workload it should run full-force

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  2 года назад +2

      It could be the difference in testing? We test multi-core 3x on 10 mins and average the score. A single run will typically result in a higher score. We haven't had the x15 to compare results though.

    • @jedisoldier
