Sigh Neo Roanoke's windam was known as full boost windam. It was at least on par with the impulse in the force silhouette option. Also I would say that the full boost windam was NOT able to deal with the Freedom solo. Kira for WHATEVER reason constantly held HIMSELF back much more against it (I know why but I'm not spoiling it for ppl who haven't seen it go watch!) when he decided to take him down it only cost Kira his shield while he blew off the windams arms and flight pack in two shots. Nice vid man.
Doubt it would be that profitable, there's a huge fan following of the original UC timeline so there's a lot of people (myself included) who are willing to buy every version of the GM I can get my hands on. Can't say the same for Seed sadly. Additionally, there just isn't that many variations of the Dagger unit. Once again comparing to the GMs, the sheer amount of variations (Ground type, space type, sniper, etc) means Bandai can easily put out twenty different versions of the kit from a single mold. So yeah, it all comes down to profit unfortunitly.
This is awsome. Can you do a video on the Zeon and Zaft's Gouf units next, please? I don't know why but they have really intrigued. solider - "We need reinforcements stat!" Captain - "Send out the GOUFs" XD.
Given that the Freedom was designed from the ground up to absolutely /slaughter/ mooks in mass lots the fact that a mook suit can stand up to it at all is kinda telling. It's a recent revelation, but looking at the way they were designed and what we see of their performance and taking into account that they had a dedicated transport platform for just the two of them I believe that the Freedom and Justice were designed as super weapons. The Freedom would massacre the enemy at range and the Justice would hang out as a bodyguard to the Freedom and deal with anything that got past its barrage and the Eternal would be transport. The Providence was either intended as proof against the two being turned against ZAFT's leadership or an additional bodyguard unit...though given the limitations of BV War I, I think it might well have been a custom suit designed for Rau himself.
@@barrybend7189 Freedom , Justice , Testament , Regenerate and Providence was the succesor of Dreadnought gundam that was built base on data of Blizt , Aegis , Buster and Duel
@@canisblack The Providence Gundam was actually designed to fill a nearly identical combat role to the Justice. Both were designed as close combat Mobile Suits, but where the Justice was far more mobile, the Providence was far more durable, having the heaviest armor rating of the original ZGMF-X series G-Weapons, with the possible exception of the modular Regenerate Gundam. After the Providence was assigned to Rau le Creuset following the skirmish at the Mendel Colony, however, Rau ordered the Providence Gundam be retooled for his personal use. This meant outfitting the close-combat intended Providence with an improved version of the Dreadnought's Disconnected Rapid Armament Group Overlook Operation Network System and gun drones for omni-directional combat. Because the Providence was already mostly completed when this happened, some of the parts for the new DRAGOON System could not be properly internalized within the machine's frame, with the standout detail of the near ramshackle nature of this retooling being the six quantum communication cables running from the new backpack to the machine's chest.

I love mobile suits. I adore robutts, your channel is definitively the official page for all mobile suit development history. Shed light where there is ignorance amongst the fandom and endow us with your knowledge.
the daggers were more capable than depicted in the show, but i gotta say that the most criminally under depicted mobile suit would have to be the the orbs M1 Astrays. these things were absolute BEASTS performance wise, with capabilities similar to the gundams but less heavily armored (they lacked phase shift because orb couldnt get their hands on the tech until kira and co landed in their laps, but later it was added to the commander variants) though they did possess laminated armor. these suits suffered not from performance issues but rather pilot ones. when the orb came under attack from their former "allies" their pilots lacked real combat experiance. and they suffered heavy casualties because of this. its a real shame too, because after kira got ahold of the os and adjusted it, he didnt just make it usable by natural pilots, he enhanced it. ive always thought that the M1 was just never given a proper chance to shine in seed, it and the suits that were designed from her have always been the most powerful main line mobile suits of any major faction in universe, and continue to be one of my top favorite "grunt" suits in all of gundam.
M1 astray never depicted having laminated armor or PS armor, also there are no commander variant, even jean carry use white colored standard M1. It performance never on par with gundam either, M1 only slightly better than strike dagger in term of speed n weaker than GUAIZ. Even the 4 prototype astray performance is lower than the original 5 GAT-X gundam
SEED was promoted as a 0079 reboot, nothing surprising there (especially when it's also supposed to be a carbine/weaker version of the original thing).
@@周生生-f1f well by traditional definitions yes, but can we apply traditional meaning for "carbine" to a beam weapon? I figured it's simply to mean smaller-than-rifle in this case? I do wonder how the size and power difference of the original weapons stack up against all the remakes, reboots, alt universes though...
@@Feiora You can probably say the barrel is a mirror reflector or a magnetic coil that helps stabilizing and accelerating the particles (minovsky or GN or other particles), so a longer barrel gives the beam more oomph, can handle a bigger beam output (because more barrel mass helps absorbing the heat generated) and/or precision at the expense of size and power consumption. Either way it's science fiction with giant robots, they can explain it in any way they like.

It’s amazing to think how fast they cranked out the Dagger line. Especially when you factor in its replacement the Windam just an few years later. It’s like releasing all the GM variants and jumping to the Jegan by Stardust Memory.
I guess this was the result of the two factions still existing by the end of the conflict in an uneasy peace period which made these continuous MS advancements necessary. In the case of UC, the defeat of Zeon resulted in MS development slowing down quite a bit as the only threat they had to deal with was the occasional remnants.
To be fair, they weren't dealing with short funded-bankrupt nations funding a few mega companies that were making these machines like in the UC. These were fully funded by their nations who seemed to be fine on the money/resources side (not that we got a deep dive into more than ORB which had multiple rich families running it and Z.A.F.T. which was similar.)
Engineer: windom has considerable increase in performance compared to Dagger L In reality: Get destroyed on everyday occasion the same way everytime (stock videos i presume) 😂😂😂
Specs on a chart are one thing, how the PILOT performs is a whole different matter, you can give grunts or aces spiffy suits, but if they can't fully utilize all the suit's stats then its a wasted resource and a dead pilot...
For Astray I think probably complicated.... Like Dreadnought version nickname X-Astray,Outframe Astray ,Delta Astray and Turn Delta Astray(which never been on Astray original development)
The 105 Dagger returns in SEED Freedom, and it's a quite common sight, being used by the Eurasian Federation and Blue Cosmos remnants. My assumption is that due to how good the performance was for the 105 Dagger, the Earth Alliance decided to mass produce it as its mainstay mobile suit, replacing the Dagger L, its successor. Behind the scenes though, is that the modelers didn't have enough time to make a 3D model of the Dagger L, as I presume that the 105 Dagger was added to give more variety for the Earth Alliance suits in there.
Saw preorder for the 1/144 Windam and then came here to watch this. I'm hyped. I always thought it was one of the coolest looking grunt suits when I watched SEED and Destiny as a kid.
The Earth Alliance had a lot of cool mobile suits like the Windam and N Dagger N, and not to mention their line of mobile armors like the Moebius Zero, Exus, Skygrasper (whether or not you consider it a mobile armor, it still deserves a special mention), and Euclid. It's just a shame that, much like ZAFT, they were run by megalomaniacal, mouth foaming villains. The SEED series could have been a lot better if its factions weren't so comically evil, but that's another story.
This unit is so versatile, twin buster rifle, assault shroud, striker packs, jetpacks, dual cannon, mirage colloid, transformable mode, nukes and can even be configured as a mobile armor. Too bad all i can remember about daggers is them being blasted away by gundams.

2. The 2nd generation Gundam mass production units are another factor to work around
the 105 Dagger is my favorite version
Dagger L will forever be my favourite grunt suit
Can we just have a seed remake. The mobile suits are cool, and even if the art style has its downsides, the character designs are cool
*Can we just get a blank slate and get a new story?*
if more like OG UC:
Rau will become Kira's Rival from get go
maybe the G Units not stolen minus Aegis i guess
the Black Tristar look a like will become enemy
Regenerate Gundam will become Big Zam like boss
mid season Kira will upgraded into IWSP Strike or Perfect Strike
Mu will get Gunbarrel Dagger
the final battle will between IWSP or Perfect Strike & Providence Zaku
A reboot in other words
@@mercenarygundam1487 i think Seed Destiny that need reboot. Seed is fine i guess
@@edwinbuana555 Yes that one.
I mean, SEED was basically a remake of the original gundam
That Buster and Long/Duel Dagger are quite interesting.
I think that I might have just found my favorite AU GM series. Thank you for making this video. Well done.
ALERT ALERT HG Strike Dagger coming out soon
You are killing it with these topics lately!!
I freaking love the strike dagger for a grunt unit it looks so badass. I will say the strike dagger looks more menacing than a gm
Absolutely
Dagger development team: we should name this strike dagger
Dev team staff 2: but its dont have knife
Head team: did i stutter?
Did we ever get a clear explanation as to how the Earth Forces were suddenly able to have naturals piloting mobile suits like ORB with the Astrays? ORB needed Kira’s help to complete a natural-friendly os. How did the Earth Forces have the Strike Daggers gain operation around the same time?
@@echos5823 that’s a good assumption. And if that’s the case, the Archangel sure made things worse before they made them better didn’t it?
The Dagger OS is a natural-use OS based on the combat data gained from the Strike Gundam. The dagger is preprogrammed with maneuvers from kira's battles to make it easier to pilot.
Earth forces had about five months worth of kira combat data when the dagger rolled out
I always liked the Dagger-series MS.
Very well done video. I wasn't aware of the N Dagger variant. Love this content!
i like how the dagger is supposed to be inferior to the strike, yet it still is a bitch to kill in battle assault 3 ps2
The good ole Windam. Probably one of the few MS I have seen that is equally durable to the Leo and Aires.
Define what you mean under ,,durable". The only 1 with any feats in Windam is Mu. And under feats I mean not getting downed by Kira or Athrun in 1. 3 minutes of the skirmish.
I can't wait for the HGCE Windam, really looking forward to that one!
Windam has to be one of the greatest alternate universe grunt suits
Agreed
Its a shame they look cool but their on-screen action is anything but.

I see you around quite often. Also your avatar is from Gaia Gear.
@@mercenarygundam1487 yup.

@@Feiora yeah. I kinda want kits of the Gaia gear though. It would be fun as its mostly innerframe and barrel frame. Though I don't think Sunrise will complete the Novel Timeline.
In my school vr game there's a veriont of the daggers called the Veronica dagger it's a mass production unit made from the data of a unknown ultra beast known only as the dark Goliath and it is really powerful but it has a different the dark Goliath has the ability to stop time but this unit has advance reaction time but has a problem they have volcanic reactors (trying to bypass the Junius treaty by turning volcanic lava into power cores) but they attract klaxosaurs and the klaxosaurs are extremely tough (dainslefts could only dent it) but after that they were upgraded with anti armour sniders and a 75% output increase but that not all a upgraded version called the everfree dagger was created and it is a equivalent to the cost of a strike dagger and the preformence is of the barbatos lupus rex without its limiters and they rip apart Klaxosaurs and eat there lunch but there's 1 problem after Stella who was ressurected by the demon madama khilpe and piloted the destroy Gundam the everfree dagger are weak to equestrian magic and anti matter and sense the gigaverse was created and Nightmare moon had a unique effect these units were in serious trouble and ultimately originally the 5000 units become 5 units
I remember thinking back to my early days of watching seed and seed destiny and i questioned "if beam weapons are becoming a common choice why waist resources in continuing the development of Phase shift armor" though recently i leaned that It's used as a from of magnetic coating for the Strike Freedom and Infinite justice to improve performance it's really the last great advancement PS armor really provided.
Last time I was this early Zeon was winning the war
Sigh Neo Roanoke's windam was known as full boost windam. It was at least on par with the impulse in the force silhouette option.
Also I would say that the full boost windam was NOT able to deal with the Freedom solo. Kira for WHATEVER reason constantly held HIMSELF back much more against it (I know why but I'm not spoiling it for ppl who haven't seen it go watch!) when he decided to take him down it only cost Kira his shield while he blew off the windams arms and flight pack in two shots.
Nice vid man.
Watching seed: Wonder why ZAFT wanted Earth Alliance dead
Watching as half of seed and destiny: Oh that's why...
Simon?
Finally HGCE Daggel L has Arrived😍😍 waiting for Revive Strike dagger and 105 dagger
It's sad that we don't get a lot of Dagger kits. After the Windam, I hope they make more Dagger variants
The Hg Dagger L launch yesterday , I suspect P Bandai Variants of the other Daggers
Same. :)
This is awsome. Can you do a video on the Zeon and Zaft's Gouf units next, please? I don't know why but they have really intrigued.
solider - "We need reinforcements stat!"
Captain - "Send out the GOUFs"

Whats so interesting about a CQC Mobile Suit?
"Hold it's own against the fearsome Freedom Gundam" for like a few seconds
@@canisblack Providence was a custom unit.
Can we do the “Zeta” series mobile suits for the next development history ?
*to be honest Wingdam is the coolest looking minion MS i ever seen*
The main reason why i like Seed is because of its huge list of new Mobile Suits. Like or hate the story, the machines of Seed are awesome. Any chance you'll make a Ginn deployment history video?

My fav Grunt MS.
Wish we could get a new Strike Dagger model kit.
Aside from 105 Dagger Gunbarrel gunpla which is close enough for a regular Strike Dagger HG.
@@anzaca1 me too but I'm rooting for windam's new release bro. Don't hope for nothing. :'(
I know this isn’t technically a gunpla kit. But I feel that It mentioned that there is a Robot damashii Strike Dagger that was released years ago.
The 105 Dagger remains as my most favourite grunt MS with the cool look and high performance. It in advance of its time with laminated armour that could resist beam weaponry which turned to be mainstream weaponry at the end of the first war. With the new aile striker that equipped by the slaughter dagger, I am confident it could on par with the ignited GOUF
I picked up a Dagger L and Windam HG a while back and finally got around to building them.
And then immediately bought the Slaughter Dagger right after finishing because I fell in love with the design language.
I really wish there was more time for the Windam to shine. Aside from Neo's Windam it was shafted so hard. I really love the design, but I'm glad we're finally getting a kit of it in a few months. I hope we get more Dagger's in the future.
Windam is also a badass mass pro mobile suit.
This was Gundam SEED's take on the GM mobile suit from UC Gundam.
Basically a much better version of the original GM
Daggers, watered down version of Strike - up to the modern version of it, the Windam which is now a more capable version of the Strike.
I can’t wait for the Windam to come out as a model kit.
Michael Belonio
Well yeah
Their just like GM
The economic version of the gundam until development improvement increase too the point their equally or better than the gundam
But the same time there is a better gundam that out perform the current GM
The Windam is actually on par with the Strike E, Gale Strike and Raigo Gundam( a modified Strike E type).
Like the original Gundam GMs were created to take on Zaku's and Rick Dom's.
Do you think next time you can talk about Zaku warrior and Gouf ignited.
Funny thing about ninja: Most ninja were Samurai, but few Samurai were ninja. The N Dagger N having Samurai style weapons makes historical sense as war time ninja were scout, secret agents, special operations, etc.
Love the 105 dagger. Played with it in a G Generation game years back and loved it could use all the Striker packs. Even then I considered it more powerful than the Strike and even got its own Striker pack. And love that you did Daggers since the new Generations game has most of them.
Like zeon always upgrading the mobile suits and destroy the enemies.
OMG THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VID !!!! XDDDD I love the Daggers and Windams :3
The Strike Daggers and the various Dagger series from the Cosmic Era are so very similar to the GM series from the Universal Century.
The normal Strike Dagger makes such a strange SFX when it walks.

That Beam Carbine looks suspiciously like an altered Beam Spray Gun...
(considering there's no ballistic munition involved, we can't very well say it's firing a smaller round) ...
I love the different type of grunt units and their reason why they exist 😄

Too bad their automatic cannon fodder when the main protagonist is around 😐
Okay this was very unexpected but welcomed
really appreciate the effort in these videos.

Specs on a chart are one thing, how the PILOT performs is a whole different matter, you can give grunts or aces spiffy suits, but if they can't fully utilize all the suit's stats then its a wasted resource and a dead pilot...
Now I kinda want to see complete Astray breakdown, from the great founder red, blue, gold to the latest entry

Love the 105 dagger. My go to mass produce unit in SD gundam Generation series.
