You've gotten Tim and Austin flip flopped! Tim is their bass(who can't stay in his lane😂) and Austin is their high tenor! The sing is by Cam a female country artist, and our guys sang in the same key as she recorded it in.
Chance is a natural Baritone, but he has always been a good bass. A good bass is always in short supply so he ended up singing bass in the University of Alabama Choir and his previous professional career. With a great bass and two great tenors it allows Chance to operate within his preferred range primarily. Everyone here gets to do what they do best plus an opportunity to extend themselves on occasion. It's really a great position to be in as a singer.
The ability of Home Free to use Tim's versatile voice and rely on Chance to hold the bass line gives them a depth and fullness of tone that is unequaled ! So good !
They don’t do covers….. they do upgrades! ❤. Love your reaction. You HAVE to react to The Butts Remix. You will see their funny side. And Rob raps!!! Yes, he raps! ❤❤❤
Yes! The Butts Remix video is completely opposite of the picture you described of them here in simple backgrounds and standing in formation. The Butts is baroque and brimming over. Chaos under strict control. It's wild.
This song is an upgrade, the guys also sang it in the same key as cam! what about TIM starting it off?? Like I've said before Home Free can sing any genre and they NEVER disappoint! LOVE it!! Great Reaction!
If you'd like to hear an original try one of their most recent songs...Playing with Fire. It's been out about three weeks. It's really good...written by Austin...Home Frees high tenor. Enjoyed your reaction.
Ok your ready for Home Frees original sea shantie skull and bones written by Chance witch was asked by a game company called ubisoft to do go to the live version and maybe do both the auto and the live you won't be disappointed. Loved your reaction brother.
This song is usually recommended that new reactors wait ro get ro know everyone's names and their usual 'niche' in the arrangements. This song is a total switchup of the usual order of things, meant to blow minds.
You still need to react to a Chance lead, the baritone/bass. His voice is warm and velvety. My favorite is “I Can’t Outrun You”- Chance’s lower register is beautiful. It’s 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. He’s the only one you haven’t had a good dose of.
Yes, Mayday is originally by Cam. What you should notice is that she is a soprano and the boys are singing it in the original soprano register including Tim (the bass). And Adam Chance (the baritone) took over bass duties. You may not have heard Adam Chance take lead yet, try Some Girls Do. Or you can hear each of them take a lead section in these songs; Auld Lang Syne, Die a Happy Man, and One Man Band.
Great reaction to this song from HOMEFREE. THANK YOU. For being a sincere and thoughtful person. I love this my favorite a cappella group since my last fav group was Statler Brothers ❤ now HOMEFREE. ❤❤ They bring it.
I really think you would like Take Me Home Country Roads. It’s a little country but Rob puts some soul into it. It’s just beautiful. I really enjoy your reactions. You are truly one of us. Keep them coming. ❤
How they stand varies depending on who sings the lead in the song. If it's a one lead song, that person is in the middle. The rythm section (drum and bass, Adam and Tim or Adam and Chance) tend to be on the outside
This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.
Home Free are so very awesome! Tim the bass who sings so high in this song has a 5-octave range. Chance who did the low part is normally their baritone. This song was originally written by Cam. Austin's voice is so very awesome. These guys as far as I am concerned are the best acapella group around! Love your reaction!
The guys chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer. Just proves their lack of having a female in the group is no detriment--they just let their profundo BASS handle it! 🤣 LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. (The addition of Chance and his lower range to the group has freed Tim up to showcase his amazing 5-octave range a lot more!) Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
I love your reactions, The amazing thing about this song is it showed off all of there different ranges. Tim (The Bass) started the song as a Tenor 1. he has a 5 or 6 octave range. Tim stood in the middle between Rob and Austin. Austin is the high tenor that was doing the Mayday. Rob sang higher then usual and Chance who is the baritone showed off his low bass range. Adam once again blew us away with his beatboxing. They all did an amazing job
A few things as to why we wanted you to wait until you had names and what they did down pat before doing Mayday: 1) Tim is their BASS known for going Subwoofer. He starts the sone in Cam's octave, showing his range. He also stayed with the Tenors the whole song. 2: This is the first time for Chance to do a major Bass note. Its normally Tim. He also did the bass note the entire time. 3: they didnt ACTUALLY do the handclap. That was all Rupp.😂 So many easter eggs you could have appreciated more if you did one or 2 more of their songs first. Oh well. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah, always better if a reactor waits until they've heard a lot more of Home Free and knows their usual roles and ranges. It's a bit sad when the surprise is wasted.
A really interesting set with Tim Foust who usually sings the bass leads singing lead tenor and Adam Chance, the baritone, doing the bass honors.... Tim's 5 octive range really gets shown off here... Totally love this rendition. If you want to see a real juxtiposition, listen to Rob and Austin sing opera!!!
Great reaction! This is definitely one of my top five Home Free songs. Tim, the bass, sang that first high verse. Austin was singing the high chorus " Mayday".
Yes, a song with surprises. Tim who goes tenor, Austin and Rob who also hit different notes than usual, the inhuman vocal percussion and as a great end to the surprises the incredible bass of Chance. Simply fabulous
This is a cover of the song by Cam. I'm not sure how long you have been doing Home Free. But Tim who is the bass that started the song. Then Austin sky high tenor, came in with the second verse. And Adam the beatboxer is on the left. And then Adam Chance (Chance) the baritone who sang the bass line. So from left to right you had Rob, Tim and Austin. Back row Adam Rupp beatboxer and Adam Chance (Chance). Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
GREAT REACTION! Please never stop reacting to Home Free - I so love your raw emotional response to HF and how much you allow your surprise and appreciation to come through. CHEERS!!
Loving your Home Free reactions. Please continue the journey but we highly recommend headphones or earbuds to get the full sound, layering, harmonies, BGV’s etc.
The singer who did the high chorus is Austin. He has the highest range usually. Tim, with the long dark hair or short graying hair is their super bass. Think lowest note in Ring of Fire, that’s Tim. He sang the first verse in the same key as Cam, the song’s originator, a woman.
It’s the old switcheroo. Tim just showing off some of his 5 octave range by singing with the tenors and Chance going low (although Chance can do bass). The song is by Cam but I agree with you that it’s Home Free’s song now. Such a good rendition. I’m glad you’re discovering the world of a cappella but you really should try to get headphones or earbuds to hear everything. Makes a difference. Good reaction! Home Free has a lot of new stuff, originals. Check out Playing with Fire…it’s a banger. 😄
I think you’re talking about Austin Brown, with the long curly hair, the high tenor. The first guy who sang, was the bass Tim Foust. The guy who sang the second verse, with the beard, is Rob Linquist. The guy who sang bass in this video was Adam Chance, and the beat boxer is Adam Rupp.
You would enjoy going back and watching The Sing Off, a competition show on TV. There are so many great a capella groups, including Home Free and Pentatonics.
You really should be listening to Home Free with headphones, otherwise, you are missing sooooo much of the sound! Home Free doesn’t do covers, they do UPGRADES on any song they touch!! They have such a variety of songs they have done! Keep reacting to them, your followers will increase tremendously!
DREW, BEEN REQUESTING THIS FOR MONTHS NOW.....I ALSO LIKE THE COMICAL SIDE OF HOME FREE, PLEASE REACT TO "THE BUTT REMIX" IT IS SO FUNNY, AND IT'S 6 DIFFERENT ARTIST SONGS THEY COMBINE, AND THE VIDEO WILL LEAVE YOU IN STITCHES!!!!
When Tim took the lead in that high voice, after watching him rumble the earth with that bass, I was floored. I love this song, and the way they do it. Like many people say, HF doesnt do covers, they do upgrades. Keep up the good work. OH, another suggestion, to check out more of Chances beautiful Baritone is "Helplessly Hoping"
Tim has a 5+ octave range. Home Free is blessed to have 3 song writers (Tim, Austin & Chance) and 5 vocal chameleons including an incomparable beatboxer. If you haven't heard "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera" (on Austin's channel) you're in for a surprise. Tim's originals include "What's Left of My Heart" & "Remember This"; Chance's: "A Whistling Lad"; "Skull & Bones"; Austin's: "Stargazer Trilogy", "If I Met you Now".
You're getting Tim and Austin confused. Austin has the long red hair and sang the Mayday chorus. Tim's hair is black and he opened the song as a tenor.
Voiceplay is another great a capella group. Their bass, Geoff Castalucci?, does a lot of arranging of music for Home Free, and all three groups are a close-knit family
Another great acapella group is Voiceplay. You really ought to give them a reaction, too! If you like acapella groups at all, I guarantee you, you won’t be disappointed! Oh, and in case you don’t know, (you looked really surprised at the beginning of the song) Tim Foust has a 5-octave vocal range! From up in the clouds, to down in the sub-basement! He can sing it all! The thing about this group is, any one of them can sing lead, they’re ALL great lead singers, and they’re all great backup singers, too!
So many of the modern acapella groups are incredibly talented, their styles are SO different that we are able to really appreciate each of them individually instead of them all running together in a homogenized genre. As for Home Free, those guys are all freakishly talented. I hope you will start checking out the solo works and side collabs, they will blow your mind.
Another acapella group is Voiceplay. Voiceplay and Home Free became friends during season four of The Sing-Off an acapella competition show. Home Free won the competition. Home Free and Voiceplay made a video together Zombies vs. Hillbillies. Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voiceplay are considered the top three acapella groups. People compare them to groups in high school. Pentatonix are the cool kids. Voiceplay are the theater kids. And Home Free are the fun kids people want to hang out with.
One thing you should know is that Tim Foust is a 5 octave singer so he can go from bass to tenor, Adam Chance is a baritone, but is singing bass here! All around my favorite acapella group!
Oh, I think you have Tim and Austin mixed up. Tim is the first to sing showing his vocal range by singing in a higher octave ( he usually sings Bass and Chance to baritone showed off his bass. They are so talented, Adam Rupp besides beatboxing can play 4 physical instruments: The Trumpet, of course the drums the keyboard and the bass guitar. Adam is the magical music man.
You asked for other acapella groups. The other group in the top 3 is VoicePlay. Go find them and give them a whirl - you won’t be sorry. I started with “Hoist the Colours” and became an immediate fan. I love Home Free AND VoicePlay, plus all the solo/collab work that various members do (Tim Foust, Austin Brown, Adam Chance, Geoff Castellucci).
Dont miss out on the group called Voctave. Several of this group have sung in the Voices of Liberty in the American pavilion in EPCOT. Austin Brown from Home Free sang with Voices of Liberty also. Many people leave this group out of the a cappella group. Another new group to consider is The Bass Gang. Tim Foust was featured on their song Hooked on a Feeling. A fantastic collaboration. The guys had never met each other before this summer. They all recorded from home and sent their recording to the editor to make the video much the same way Home Free did during the lockdown. Glad you’re enjoying your deep dive into a cappella.
You really should react to Cam's original ( ruclips.net/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/видео.html ). She does a great job, and while you're listening to her, remember that Tim Foust (the deepest bass you've ever heard) sings it in THE SAME KEY! After you've heard both versions, you'll love them both!!!!
tim was the first singer but the "mayday" part was austin. tim was singing in his higher range. they also did this in the same key that cam originally did it in.
This song is by Cam. Her original version is quite good too, and as you've heard for yourself, this is a great song. Regarding your starting comments, we are living in the golden age of a capella, in my opinion. The third group in the "top three" at this point is VoicePlay. I'd recommend some of their recent work as a good introduction, like their cover of Nothing Else Matters from Metallica, or Valhalla Calling. Honestly, much like Home Free, you can hardly go wrong with anything of theirs.
Tim started out the song but instead of bass he sang tenor. Then Austin came in.
All singing in Cam's range, yes even Tim!
LOL, the look on this guy's face hearing Bass Bomb Tim sing tenor. "This does not compute" "Error code" I can hear it in his brain.
Just went to Cam's version on RUclips. Very good version but Home Free now owns this song.
In My opinion, this is one of HF masterpieces! HF is the best of the very , very best!!
This song was originally sung by Cam. They are singing it in the same key as she did. Amazing!!!
And their version is better than the original! On my top ten Home Free list.
You've gotten Tim and Austin flip flopped! Tim is their bass(who can't stay in his lane😂) and Austin is their high tenor! The sing is by Cam a female country artist, and our guys sang in the same key as she recorded it in.
Yes!!! Austin is hi tenor. Tim( the bass who can sing five octavesm ) started this song off.Adam Chance did bass on this song. Rob is low tenor.
These guys are incredible. They should be playing on all the stations. Their versatility is unmatched.
So good !
You absolutely must do a reaction to "Playing with Fire" (Home Free original)!
It's wild.
Tim - the bass man - starting out like a tenor! woot!
Their originals are pretty Awesome….”PLAYING WITH FIRE”…written by Austin…is SMOKIN’ HOT….&, the fire dancers are Amazing 🔥🔥💗🔥🔥‼️
This song is an upgrade, the guys also sang it in the same key as cam! what about TIM starting it off?? Like I've said before Home Free can sing any genre and they NEVER disappoint! LOVE it!! Great Reaction!

This song is usually recommended that new reactors wait ro get ro know everyone's names and their usual 'niche' in the arrangements. This song is a total switchup of the usual order of things, meant to blow minds.
Man Tim is the deep bass for Home Free singing tenor in the beginning and Chance witch is the baritone taking the bass , what a all around group 🤯.
The Butts Remix please!! I wouldn’t steer you wrong! 😊
Yes, it’s a must!! This is another 5-part harmony masterpiece by Home Free and Chance really shines!
I ADORE Chance’s voice!! It’s like the smoothest richest chocolate!! One of my favourites with him singing lead is “cover me up”
Yes, Mayday is originally by Cam. What you should notice is that she is a soprano and the boys are singing it in the original soprano register including Tim (the bass). Cam is an alto.
Enjoyed your reaction! Dude, wear headphones for acapella as you are missing out! subbed.
Tim Foust has a 5 octave range. He's amazing vocalist.
Great reaction to this song from HOMEFREE. THANK YOU. For being a sincere and thoughtful person. I love this my favorite a cappella group since my last fav group was Statler Brothers ❤ now HOMEFREE. ❤❤ They bring it.

This song is not recommended to new viewers of Home Free because this demonstrates just part of the amazing range Tim has.
Chance too. He was rocking that bass.
Tim was actually the first singer. He usually sings bass for them, but has a 5 octave range. Austin sang the chorus.
A few things as to why we wanted you to wait until you had names and what they did down pat before doing Mayday:

@@PaulaThompson-x9wGreat suggestions!

Yes, a song with surprises. Tim who goes tenor, Austin and Rob who also hit different notes than usual, the inhuman vocal percussion and as a great end to the surprises the incredible bass of Chance. Simply fabulous

HF are masters of building drama through their arrangements. Love this rendition. Thanks for your reaction!
This is one of my favs. Love how Tim and Chance switch up. These guys are so talented.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loved your face at the beginning when you saw Tim, the bass, started in tenor. Austin’s maydays were perfect
GREAT REACTION! Please never stop reacting to Home Free - I so love your raw emotional response to HF and how much you allow your surprise and appreciation to come through. CHEERS!!
Great reaction, Sir. You always do a good job!
" Mayday " is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Cam for her second studio album Untamed (2015).
Cam is the original artist.
Loving your Home Free reactions. Please continue the journey but we highly recommend headphones or earbuds to get the full sound, layering, harmonies, BGV’s etc.
The first a capella group I ever heard was Straight No Chaser. Now I’m hooked
Butts Medley is a must see!
My favorite Home Free performance! Absolutely superb! They make it their own.
The singer who did the high chorus is Austin. He has the highest range usually. Tim, with the long dark hair or short graying hair is their super bass. Think lowest note in Ring of Fire, that’s Tim. He sang the first verse in the same key as Cam, the song’s originator, a woman.
Always love this song!! To me it was the 1st time I was smacked with Tim's vocal range then smacked with Chance. Just wonderful!💝💞

One of my favorites. Really shows off their versatility.
If you want an original of theirs, try "Champagne taste on a beer budget ". Tim wrote it.
You would enjoy going back and watching The Sing Off, a competition show on TV. There are so many great a capella groups, including Home Free and Pentatonics.
😮🫢🙀
Yup
That’s exactly the reaction we want from someone seeing this for the first time
Thank you. Highlight of my day. ❤
L-R
Rob - Adam - Tim - Chance - Austin
Beard - Beats - Bass - Bashful - Boyish
One of my favs!! ❤
Great reaction ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
You really should be listening to Home Free with headphones, otherwise, you are missing sooooo much of the sound! Home Free doesn’t do covers, they do UPGRADES on any song they touch!! They have such a variety of songs they have done! Keep reacting to them, your followers will increase tremendously!
Great Reaction, Love Home Free ❤
DREW, BEEN REQUESTING THIS FOR MONTHS NOW.....I ALSO LIKE THE COMICAL SIDE OF HOME FREE, PLEASE REACT TO "THE BUTT REMIX" IT IS SO FUNNY, AND IT'S 6 DIFFERENT ARTIST SONGS THEY COMBINE, AND THE VIDEO WILL LEAVE YOU IN STITCHES!!!!
Tim started the song as a tenor!
Voice Play is another really good a capella group. Home Free is my favorite though.
Any cover that these boys do isn't a remake, it's always an upgrade.
Tim's originals include "What's Left of My Heart" & "Remember This"; Chance's: "A Whistling Lad"; "Skull & Bones"; Austin's: "Stargazer Trilogy", "If I Met you Now".
The high tenor singing Mayday, is Austin, not Tim, Tim is the bass singer, who, incidentally, started the song in Tenor range !
You gotta get some head phones!!!
You're getting Tim and Austin confused. Austin has the long red hair and sang the Mayday chorus. Tim's hair is black and he opened the song as a tenor.
Harmonies out the wazoo when they sing Helplessly Hoping! ❤
It's a cover originally by Cam like you guessed. But like you, I hadn't heard it until they covered it.
Home Free doesn't perform "covers" they do "UPGRADES" to other people's songs!!!
Voiceplay is another great a capella group. Their bass, Geoff Castalucci?, does a lot of arranging of music for Home Free, and all three groups are a close-knit family

It’s amazing how they take over covers and make them so much better!
Check their version of Keith Urban's song Blue Ain't Your Color.
One thing you should know is that Tim Foust is a 5 octave singer so he can go from bass to tenor, Adam Chance is a baritone, but is singing bass here! All around my favorite acapella group!
This is a song by Cam. They did it in the original key as she dud it
Oh, I think you have Tim and Austin mixed up.
The Butts Remix! Please.

Go listen to Cam doing the original & I bet you’ll still like this one better ! They sang it in the same key as Cam did in the original too.
You're talking about Austin, not Tim. 🤣 Thanks ~ 🍟
This song was originally done 7 years by singer named cam
They are ALL The man.
Butts Remix please!❤
Some may call it a cover; we know it's an upgrade. As usual.
It's their song now. Lol
Most Home Fries are also Pentaholics, So join the family
Tim starts off showing his five octave range. Tenor (?) and natural, not falsetto. Then Chance goes deep! The versatility of this group on display.
tim was the first singer but the "mayday" part was austin. tim was singing in his higher range. they also did this in the same key that cam originally did it in.
Did you notice the lead sung by the bass, Tim, was in the same octave as the female Cam sung it!
yep, Tim isn't the only bass on Home Free...when Tim goes High, Chance fills right in on bass !! They killed it didn't they???
If you ever get some time to go into HF's Vault and see the making of this video. Great fun.
