Man of Constant Sorrow is just the tip of the iceberg. Home Free has a HUGE catalog...covers, originals, live performances, and behind the scenes footage. They are incredibly talented and humorously wholesome. You won't find a bad video. They will make you laugh, cry, gasp in amazement, and wonder..wtf?! 🤣
They are billed as a Country Vocal Group, but they do everything from Country, Pop, Gospel, Doo Wop, Classic Rock, Sea Shantys, R&B, and Opera, to their own originals that I find hard to label with one particular genre.
Their sense of humor is unmatched, but the music never suffers no matter how crazy the video is.

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Ring Of Fire", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "Helplessly Hoping", "Seven Bridges Road", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music" etc.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. There is no permanent lead singer. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
They look at every song whose voice suits it best. This is the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.
Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour.
For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group

I love when someone hears Home Free for the first time. Home Free's music is an eargasm. Their vocal abilities are off the chart.
They do a lot of amazing covers, and have some fantastic originals.
They do mostly country music, but also cover other styles. Some vides are real serious like Don't Laugh at me, and others are just silly like The Butts Remix and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. Their collaboration with The Oak Ridge Boys on Elvira is fantastic.
Enjoy the Home Free rabbit hole. Before you know it you will be a Home Fry. And you subs will go up doing Home Free reactions.

Congratulations - you have now completed the Trifecta of Acapella Awesomeness, and achieved Reactor Rabbithole Level 3! 😁
You are definitely in for a treat going down the Home Free rabbithole! They do a lot of country stuff, for sure, but they are also known for their gloriously goofy sense of humour - showcased perfectly in their 'Butts Medley/Remix,' 'All About That Bass' and 'Country Fried Pop Medley.' Other must-listens are 'Folsom Prison Blues,' (where their *actual award-winning* beatboxer, Adam Rupp, 'does' a steam train and a shotgun cocking and firing... yeah, that totally was him doing a harmonica in this one with his voice,) 'Ring of Fire' with guest singer Avi Kaplan from PTX.
Oh, do us a favour though... their cover of 'MayDay' is another must - but *you have to save that one for much later,* after you've heard most of the other highly-recommended ones first. Promise? I know that sounds weird, but trust us Home Fries on this one, it'll totally be worth the wait.

Welcome to Home Free....they are more than just a "country band", but they can do country just about better than the originals....recommendations.... their cover of Boyz2Men's "End of the road", their cover of the Doobie Brothers 1972 classic "Listen to the music" and 2 of their recent originals, "So Long Dixie" and "Playing with Fire"".

I love this group. They have a big following and their fans are called "Home Fries, " They do more than just country, but a majority of what they do is add a little upbeat to country songs or add their flair of country into other genre songs. They also do have many originals as well. I'd like to see your reaction to Home Free's rendition of "Folsom Prison Blues". Also since you game, you might be interested in a recently dropped song that one of the guys wrote for an upcoming Ubisoft game called "Skull and Bones" There is a live of them singing it and then the presentation video of the game which you will find on their channel.(Hear the bass)

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!
In my opinion, Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves.
One of the best ways to get to know their background is to start with the videos of their performances on Season 4 of the NBC show "The Sing Off" (the ones with the judges' comments are best). Or check out the "Home Free History" videos on Chris Rupp's channel--it's so cool to get insight into everything they've gone through to get to where they are now 🥰
In this song they are making a distinct southern (country blues/bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Remember This", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page), "Listen to the Music", "Understand", and "Road Sweet Road" 😍!

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire and Remember My Name. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

Best a cappella group out there, with the most talented vocal percussionist in the business in Adam Rupp. You have barely scratched the surface. They have a very deep and varied catalog. Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. These boys can sing any genre. Total Acapella no instruments. Amazing talent. CK out End of the Road. Tim Foust is the bass and he has a 5 octave range. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and in my opinion there is no one better. ❤️❤️❤️

Home Free does a lot of country and blue grass music. They are not a one-trick pony, however. They can do just about any genre and do it well. Check out their cover of "When a Man Loves a Woman" (cover of Percy Sledge and then Michael Bolton), "End of the Road" (cover of Boyz II Men song), "Never Gonna Give You Up" (which is absolutely so much fun to watch and they just were messing around), "Sea Shanty Medley" (another fun one), and then finally, check out Austin and Rob (the two tenors) covering "Nessun Dorma" (yes, from Puccini's opera "Turendot" and even if you "hate" opera, you'll appreciate that). So Home Free can do any genre of music and absolutely kill it.

They have great collaborations with big time acts as well - Don McLean chose them to do 50th anniversary remake of American Pie with him, Kenny Rodgers, Lee Greenwood remade God Bless the USA with them, Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama. I'm sure someone has told you "don't listen to Mayday until you really know them". I always say listen to their cover of Brothers In Arms then immediately go to Mayday and understand that the 1st singer in each of those songs is the same man. Then, you'll understand the greatness of Home Free. If you want to here harmony perfected, their cover of Helplessly Hoping does just that.

They have such a range of material, and always seem to do justice to each song they cover, respecting the music while adding their own panache. They also have some great originals.

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you a chair.
You're about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourself.
Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em.
All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a world-class vocal percussionist and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos.
For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
For Chance's smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
For Rob's soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility.
For Austin's soaring power tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen to the radio, ‘cause you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You'll need smelling salts after that one.
Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother).
And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either.
Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

Home Free has a DEEP rabbit hole of music to enjoy. They also have ties to at least 2 other premier level acapella groups, Pentatonix and Voice Play, occasionally showing up in each other's music and working with each other to grow together. The bass singers from each group have worked to deepen their sounds. Check out Home Free covering Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan - the bass from Pentatonix.

Best a capella group ever! I can listen to them again and again, and almost every single time I get to the end of the song and suddenly remember it was a capella.
