- Winston Churchill
And yet you blithely ignore all the similar things that Churchill said about British political intrigues.
@@robertatkins9419Churchill had plenty to say about British and American political situations as well, however, the outcome of Kremlin intrigues have proved to be more unpredictable. Also, neither are germane to the topic of Putin's cronies.
@@jefferyshute6641 First, which 'Kremlin intrigues' are you referring to exactly? Second, the 'topic' was the entirely made up charge levelled here that Putin has 'lost the trust of his inner circle'. Just ask yourself - how could Galeotti know what Putin's 'inner circle' are thinking or anything about them at all?
@@robertatkins9419 Churchill w 36:00 as obviously referring to the fact that the control of power and influence in the Kremlin changes without transparency. The tsar, or premier, or president, have never shied away from secret subterfuge to grab or hold on to power.
Mr. Galleoti has written 20 books about Russia. Until it closed in 2014, he wrote for the Moscow News. Through his research over the years, he's developed many confidential sources and contacts. His credentials are not in question. Your's however, are another story altogether.
@@robertatkins9419 Churchill was referring to pretty much all Kremlin intrigues. When power changes hands in Russia, whether by deal making or subterfuge, the process is anything but transparent.

The oligarchs also own planes , when Prigoshin's plane's wing blew off,the oligarchs got a message.😮
Kein Wunder! Je näher man ihm kommt...
oh boy!
he is really going down.....
Prigozhin was clearly a Russian Milo Minderbinder of M&M Enterprises. To the extent of even bombing his own side for possible profit. 😅
Excellent interview, im subscribing.
But the key question about the Prigozhin mutiny is: Who was leading the attack on Moscow? Prigozhin himself stayed behind in Rostov. Utkin maybe?
Is prof. Galeotti a Star trek enthusiast? Those are Klingon bird of pray and Romulan Warbird on the shelf behind him, are they not?
Never mind Star Trek! Thunderbirds are go! Thunderbird 2 on the shelf behind him, my all-time favourite.
Great catch!!! Live long and prosper, my friend
@@ronthered138 They did not broadcast that in Yugoslavia, when I grew up ... we did have Terrahawks though.
@@tonilogar5822 In 1980 I was in my late teens and no longer interested in that genre, so I was unaware of it. I looked up a few videos after reading your post, and it looks like something that I would have watched if I was a bit younger, for sure!
Is that a Thunderbirds 2 ship I see above Mark's left shoulder?😀
Who would take over from Putin? Could they be worse?
It would be from the same clique which took over after Yetsin
Or more worryingly, competent.

Great interview
I miss Tucker at the supermarket with the trolley tho
PreGoshen was an idiot to get on that airplane after he challenged Putin !
He was an idiot. Period.
That move by Prighozian/Wagner probably saved thousands of lives from both Russia and Ukraine and the war could have ended couple of days after that mutiny.
Its not putin causing conflict around the world....but quess who is
Kate asks some really great questions.
Putin is getting weaker..
@RidgebackHQ the difference is a half a million casualties ago, which obviously does not register in a reptile brain.
Cope harder.
That's hilarious.
@RidgebackHQ And they were right. If not for Ukraine, the West would still be terrified of Russia as a conventional enemy. Now everyone sees the Russian military is weak (except for Nukes), especially China which will exploit Russia to the full.
I see and hear lots of talking heads remarking on how Putin is finished etc. Yet here he still is.
Praetorian guards grow increasingly weary.
Prigozhin made the mistake of caring.
Mark is great
Was Prof. Mark Galeotti the model for the old man in, the animated movie, "Up." ?
What a smile Kate. 🙂
Very interesting. You do get the feeling Putin does not care about losing a thousand soldiers a day or disposing of generals etc who he suspects of plotting but does care a lot about losing the Black Sea Fleet and his Air Force AWAKS and his Kirch Bridge and expensive radars. Likely he is very depressed about all that, likely he sees them as his.
Time is ticking, Putin....
Time the Tzar told his daughters, to sew their jewels into their clothing.
He really was angry about soldiers being just cannon fodder, because it could have been him.
Putin is creating an inner inner circle circle 😂 to calm his insecurities and fears
