    Don't get why people make such a big deal over Cap not being a "founding Avenger" in the comics. Those early Avengers comics were experimental, they had no idea what roster was going to work.

    • @SuperOmnicronsj44
      @SuperOmnicronsj44 10 месяцев назад

      They had no idea it was going to work , and I SWEAR they were created to spark interest in the individual titles, because in the late 70s early 80s Cap, Iron Man and THOR were bi-monthly titles .. they weren't popular AT ALL. MCU basically re-ignited them. And Cap ended up with the best movie trilogy.

    The shield actually wasn't a shield at all. The metal wasn't even vibranium. It was a vibranium/adamantium composite created by the scientist that made the super soldier serum. The metal was meant to be used to build tanks. The prototype he built was meant to be the cover for a hatch on a tank. But since this element and the super soldier serum were never committed to paper, the process for making it died with him and the hatch was made into a shield to replace Captain America's battered triangular shield.

    I always thought the movie was titled "first avenger" not because he founded the team, but because he's literally the first avenger, he's the oldest and original hero that shield had, so no he didn't create the team or was a founder. It's simply that he was the first hero chronologically.

      The oldest by age would be Thor. Who is much, much older than Steve in the comics. He's believed to be 1,000 years old.

    WhatCulture Comics, you did a good job explaining the reasons people get wrong about Captain America, but there were several reasons that you explained weren't quite correct like Cap has superpowers and Stan Lee created Captain America. Rogers main superpowers is his enhanced conditioning which he gain his powers from Super-Soldier Serum. The two creators that made Captain America (Steve Rogers) is Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Sure, Stan Lee supported and acknowledged Cap during his early career, however, Stan Lee did not created Captain America.

    Cap was the heroic inspiration for many of the early Avengers, after he was thawed he was made an honorary founding member, so you could say he was Avenger #0.

      @matthew helm Marvel Universe Role-playing Game Guide to Hulk & the Avengers from the early to mid 2000's that is 616 Canon at start of play (and stops there since after that it's your Game) states that not long after he joined the Avengers he was made an honorary founding member by a Vote of the founding Avengers, because 1. He is that Awesome, and 2. he inspired many of them when they heard stories of him from back in the War.

    @WhatCulture Comics here is what you get wrong in this entire video. The MCU is it's own comic book universe separate from any other comic book stories ever told by Marvel. So for instance in the MCU comic universe Captain America does get his shield from Howard Stark. This is not "wrong" this is exactly how it happens in this universe. The fact that Endgame basically introduced the idea of the multiverse further proves this since very "universe" has it's own timeline and own unique outcomes. It's nice you read the comics but while the comics were inspiration for this new direction they have zero influence on the back stories in this universe. Also, "First Avenger" doesn't refer to founding member (though he is one in the MCU universe so again wrong) but rather in some sense he was the first Avenger in that he was the first one created so to speak for the purposes that became the Avengers. I mean Stark begat SHIELD which begat Fury which begat the Avengers and come full circle Stark created Captain American from the super soldier serum for the purposes of defending mankind so basically Captain America really was the first Avenger, at the very least in the MCU. So your entire video is wrong.

    Don't forget the Civil War comics references that Canada tried and failed to do something similar. Also in the comics Wakanda was Neutral. So was the nation Cable took over, offering asylum to mutants caught in the conflict.

    • @aluthehungryghost8474
      @aluthehungryghost8474 5 лет назад

      The “Truth” implied that he was the first one. However, when authors were asked to bring the character to 616 ( main storyline) , they had to retcon the story. So Isaiah joins the project in 1942( like it was in “The Truth”) however this time they are using Afro-Americans to recreate the formula, since Captain America was active as early as 1940.
      Thus makes Isaiah non officially second Captain America ( he never picked up the name, opting to Patriot instead) and 3rd American Super Soldier.

    I Agree Plus it so Irritating when people say Captain America was a Founding member of the Avengers Clearly if you read the Very 1st issue of the Avengers when they Very 1st Assembled Captain America was nowhere to be seen at that time he was still under the ice because those 70 years were still passing by it wasn't until years later in the 21st Century that the Avengers found him in the ice and Thawed him out and once Captain America got somewhat familiar to the time he was in he Eventually Joined the Avengers but at that time Iron Man was still Leading The Avengers way before Captain America so for those of you who gets things wrong look at this Video it will help you clean up your thoughts that you thought were right about Captain America
