I think it’s easy to forget about how good steel vengeance’s layout is. Sometimes I begin to think I might like other rides better, then I look at the POV again and am like nope😂
It's literally just psychology 101. We all should've learned this in school but it's scientifically proven that when people see something very popular or is getting a lot of admiration or attention, it eventually starts to make us uncomfortable subconsciously. As a result, the usual response is to magnify whatever trivial, small flaws or shortcomings it may have. It's literally what happens in social media all the time. Think about the way people try and look for blemishes in really beautiful people. Think about the way we judge rich, successful athletes and musicians. We do the same with popular movies, tv shows, and yes, even roller coasters. If something gets super popular, that everyone can't stop talking about, then many people will eventually start to think--"Well, maybe, it's overrated?" or "It's not THAT good". The same will happen to Velocicoaster over time...
@@theninthheart4736 I mean, it’s hard to compare Velocicoaster and SteVe. On one hand, SteVe has been around for 4 years nearly and it’s built a reputation, while Velocicoaster is still new to the scene. Yes, while SteVe ranked 3 in best coaster in the world at the 2021 GTA, Velocicoaster ranked 18. Now while I don’t know statistics very well, I’d have to say that it’s pretty damn impressive to get to be the 18th best coaster in the world. Second, VC was ranked best new coaster in 2021, and that’s pretty good. ‘Nuff said. Third, Velocicoaster’s theming is immaculate. The most theming you’ll find on SteVe is the fake rocks on the entrance sign. Fourth, Velocicoaster is more sweeping and grand, while SteVe is whippier and sharper. The heart line roll over the lake on VC actually gives great airtime, so does the stall. While SteVe has a good layout, the inversions are certainly different. Fifth, VC is actually kind of imposing. I like that. When I look at SteVe, I’m kinda let down. I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s the lift hill? There’s something about it that kinda underwhelms me. With VC, you walk in an the coaster is in your face. The Jurassic World music and lighting set the tone perfectly, and it also helps that VC has a beautiful whoosh sound whenever it passes. Sixth, there is definitely some hype going around VC. The difference here is that Universal isn’t acting like it’s the greatest thing to grace humanity since sliced bread. Cedar Point built up hype because at the time, there was nothing like it. At that point we hadn’t ever had a hybrid hyper like this before. And also, it’s Cedar Point, the park known for some pretty kickass rides (Maverick is literally next to SteVe). In conclusion, it seems like you have a grudge against VC. It’s actually kinda of hypocritical. You seem to act like SteVe is the greatest thing on planet earth, and then turn around and act like VC is complete garbage. Which, surprisingly, is the *entire point of the video*. You can’t act like people’s negative opinions on SteVe are invalid, and then shit on VC. That’s not really fair.
Even though Steel Vengeance isn't my number one, I can recognize it's greatness. I always roll my eyes when I hear someone say Steel Vengeance isn't that good 😄
I think i got caught up in the hype, I expected it to be this mind blowing coaster, but it turned out to be like a #13 for me. It is not bad in any way, but i don't really think its great. I've only ridden it once tho, so i should probably ride it more.
Excellent points. My biggest issue with Steel Vengeance isn't with the ride, but more with the park and it's operations. It's an investment of time just to go back to see if the line is manageable enough to wait in because the app is not reliable and is probably being used to control flow away from busy rides rather than just displaying accurate wait times. Then if you decide to wait in the line you need to be prepared to wait in several different lines and the group that is front of your group is likely to be well ahead of or well behind you when it comes to entering the station and actually riding the ride. All this depending on the cards your dealt, how you play them and how the other people played theirs. Forget that whole backstory with Maverick, Digger and Chess. This ride is themed to Blackjack and while it may be fun, I often feel like I've busted more than I won.
Your level headed and non confrontational approach to your views on rides is much appreciated. Whenever I tell people SteVe isn’t my #1 I need to justify it or else it will just get hated on. I’m 6’6”so all RMC’s are an uphill battle. My first ride wasn’t very enjoyable and my shins were bright red, but over a few rides it’s obvious for a lot of people it would be the greatest rollercoaster ever built. Anyways I sometimes hate the ranking culture of the community. SteVe is elite. But that doesn’t mean it has to be everyone’s favorite. And that doesn’t mean that since it’s not my favorite and a lot of people like SteVe it’s overrated.
I’ve been noticing this ever since 2020 and have had difficulty putting it into words and you’ve done all the work for me and did it with perfection. Nice job!
SteVe is not the first coaster enthusiasts bashed on because it was #1 for too long. When I first became an enthusiast, I remember all these enthuisiasts loving Fury 325 and most of them having it at #1. But a couple years later, even before SteVe opened, many lists I watched put Fury outside their top 10 or 15 for some reason. Now since SteVe and Veloci have taken the spotlight on the coaster world, not many have really considered Fury as a popular #1 so it's appearing a lot more in the top 5 of coaster enthusiasts' lists.
It’s so funny to me how people consult everyone else’s lists when making their own. I thought it was supposed to be a list of YOUR favorite coasters… lol
Planet Coaster has a perfect way of explaining this. In the game you can make the greatest coaster of all time but if you have the prestige system enabled, guests’ opinion of the ride will drop over time no matter what you do and will only get better once it hits classic status. Once it hits classic status guests will start riding it again and appreciating the ride again. I’ve been seeing the same thing happen with Fury 325 where people start hating it for no reason.
I’ve only ridden around 90 coasters and Steve is my number 7. I understand why people love it, but I think it more comes down to taste in rides. If your like Coaster Studios or Park Pros who love ejector air time, then this is your greatest ride ever. As someone who prefers pure speed and launches (Maverick 2nd launch 😍) with occasional airtime, I enjoyed Millennium Force and Maverick more. I see your point about people hating it too much and let’s be honest, it’s impossible to hate this ride. I like the the term overrated though. When people classify as somehow out of this world incredible and other elites like fury and toro are barley knocking on the door step then ya, going into it I was expecting it to do things coasters can’t even do. With that kind of praise of course people are going to find it overrated. Anyway, it’s undeniably an incredible ride and I see why so many people like it, but for personal preference I prefer other rides. I hope no “hates” this ride because that’s just dumb.
Yeah, I find the "intensity is the only thing" coaster crowd a bit tiresome. I love coasters with intensity but also love coasters that do other things well too.
Fun. JUST FUN!! To me That’s ALL I need on a coaster. This hobby has a wide variety of coasters to choose from it’s IMPOSSIBLE for me to really have a preference. I DON’T Care what a coaster has. As long as I’m on them having a blast, that’s all I need. I refuse to overrate a thing that’s meant to not just help you have fun, but also help you MENTALLY. The only way I’ll hate a coaster is if I’m in pain. I’ve ridden over 140 coasters and let me tell you, just by thinking about the fun and mental help from it, I love almost ALL the coasters I’ve ridden that I’ve never really felt a need to talk about them in-depth. Steel Vengeance is my #1 since it’s the most fun coaster I’ve ever ridden. I don’t even know how much airtime there was but that doesn’t matter. On that ride I just had a reaction like no other. Never have I laughed so hard on a coaster other than this one right here. Now with it being at #1 does not mean any other coaster I’ve ridden has a downside. Because of how much variety this industry has, it’s really awesome to LOVE RIDES THE WAY THEY ARE! Occasionally It can be nice to compare coasters, but I think with how much variety there is, there’s really no need to compare everything. I’m very happy with the way I view coasters. I don’t mind if people have a different preference as yes we all can have different opinions, but I do hope there are other people out there that view these magnificent machines the same way I do. Not all coasters are the same so just appreciating them the way they are can really help. P.S yes I still have difficulty putting this type of topic in words so just bare with me on this
I have no reason to hate on any roller coaster, particularly one I have only ridden one time. There are extenuating circumstances when it comes to some coasters that some people fail to consider. First impressions really do make a big difference. My only ride on SV was very disorienting. I was eager to get back on it and trying to figure this thing out. Unfortunately, I was not able to get another ride on it. I had 4 days set aside for Cedar Point the last week of May 2019. SV was only open for about 3 hours over the entire 4 days. It seems to be an RMC trend that the bigger and faster the coaster, the more time it takes to work out the kinks, some of which are quite serious and require weeks of time. The poster child for this is Lighting Rod. After 5 years, it seems Dollywood may finally have the ride they wanted, but they have been disappointing customers for years during the time this thing was constantly closed. Let’s also decouple this notion that “hate” is a vehicle to get attention. Comments (including this one) can and should be placed on the same level of importance as your daily Wordle result. I realize this channel has a vested interest in using controversial opinions and comments to help increase their viewership, but click bait exists because people have this unfortunate need for their opinion to be validated by others. 2+2 will always equal 4, but opinions (including mine) are not right or wrong. They only matter if you choose to let it matter. In those cases, the problem is yours.
You were absolutely spot-on in this video. The people who hate on Vengeance either haven't ridden it or just want to be edgy/different. Same reason people hate popular music. They're contrarians. I personally have Voyage, X2, Velocicoaster and i305 over it, but #5 is still pretty fantastic out of 206.
People are forgetting about this ride with the title of the world’s best! Lots of people are putting Velocicoaster over it, and after riding both this year I see why! Personally I prefer SteVe…I never get why people don’t think this ride is perfect! For me it checks all the boxes of a perfect ride
Yeah I personally prefer Velocicoaster due to the second half continuously trying to rip you in half but Steel Vengeance has some of the best airtime in the world.
@@theninthheart4736 lol yeah, Velocicoaster doesn't even get put ahead of Iron Gwazi. Its a top 10 ride in America and an amazing coaster but its never been spoken about on SV's level.
You really hit the nail on the head with this! It couldn't have been explained any better. The people who hate on this ride with their keyboards probably would not pass up a chance to ride it.
Steel Vengeance is the first coaster in awhile that I could get one and say “yeah that’s the best I’ve done.” I think it’s perfectly fine to say it’s not the best in the world but you gotta respect that piece love it and if you don’t like it, you should have a good reason. I’m sure I’ll find a ride that I think is better or at least is close, but it doesn’t mean disrespecting it for not being number 1 when a lot of others have it as #1. I get that it gets lines and what not but the ride cant help itself from being good and well liked lol
My opinion on SV has evolved as I get on more coasters. Zadra in particular knocked it from its #1 spot to #3 where voyage sat and is now my #1. SV currently sitting at #4 but ahead of G-waz. In truth when ur coaster count really starts getting up there, it is very easy for the top 10 to shift around based on the quality of that particular ride you got on a given visit.
I know how you feel, and decency bias is definitely a part of that. Rode fury for the first time in June and immediately thought it was my new favorite, then I rode maverick and Steve again and realized how wrong I was lol.
SteVe isn’t my #1 but for me it makes sense, I want a ride that does have amazing airtime but also mixes in everything else like intense positive G’s, snappy transitions and a powerful launch which SteVe doesn’t have, I prefer a ride with more variety in the forces and a ride that feels more out of control hence why I rank maverick, I305 and Lrod over SteVe, however I still recognize that SteVe is by far the best coaster strictly for airtime and still has some other factors going for it as u mentioned, if ur favorite thing is airtime by a considerable margin I can’t understand how SteVe isn’t ur #1, so really even tho SteVe was never my #1, I agree with u that it’s stupid that ppl that used to like this ride now don’t and instead of it being still top 5 they genuinely hate the ride, that doesn’t make any sense
@@MillenniumForceMan on some parts it does but it has also some really snappy twists, multiple ejector airtime moments. Insane positives that make me almost greyout and it has two intense launches. And I calculated that if you put out every death spot, it would have still 45-50 seconds of I teste ride time. And I am a pretty experienced enthusiast with almost 100 credits. I have ridden rides like untamed, rth and kondaa. So I am a pretty experienced thoosie so I really know what I am saying.
I rode it for the first time today expecting to not like it because it gets ranked so high (I genuinely do not like El Toro and everyone hyped it up so I figured this would be similar). And now it’s my favorite coaster ever. I swore up and down I was a B&M gal for life but here we are
The reason why I don’t like it is because every time I’ve ridden it, the trims have slowed it to pretty much a crawl making the whole second half pointless.
Oh please. The trim never hits that hard, even at its hardest the second half is still a blast. You're just bitching for the sake of bitching. L take. Anyone dumb enough to type "I don't like Steel Vengeance" is a clown with no credibility. Probably why you're at 2k subs and not going much higher.
Honestly the best aspect of Steve is it’s pacing, ik it’s not quite the same as it used to be, but when I rode it it was flying, and the amount of stuff it has packed into this layout, not just airtime
10:26 “It’s ok to like popular things. Nobody’s gonna think you’re any less cool for liking SteVe, even though it’s basic.” Agreed. Or feel free to completely disregard the opinion of any schmuck who does think you are.
I think it’s mainly because a lot of people consider it the best roller coaster ever built (I actually do too and still do to this day), and people have been going in with that mindset and of course they find like one or two tiny things that aren’t perfect, and then they nitpick and they’re disappointed because the ride wasn’t 100% “perfect”. I’ve ridden just over 200 roller coasters and Steel Vengeance IS currently my #1 coaster and I don’t even think it’s perfect 100% but it’s still my favorite ride ever. Granted I haven’t ridden Iron Gwazi @ Busch Gardens Tampa yet, but honestly, based on what I’ve seen, I’m not sure if I’d consider it better than Steel Vengeance. Remember, there is no such thing as a “perfect” roller coaster, at least not for me.
@@JJJJ-he8bz lol stop talking clown. You think all 20+ people clapping and cheering and laughing at the end of every single ride are all enthusiasts? Dumb af
I do believe Steel Vengeance doesnt deserve the hate. I love Steel Vengeance but when you have a coaster litterary right next door that has more variety and intensity (Maverick) its really hard putting Steel Vengeance at number one.
Let me be clear. I love the layout forces and intensity of steel vengeance. However I felt all of those forces in my shins. I think the ride is great but it’s just too uncomfortable to move into my top 5. And I’m 6’6 so comfort on a rollercoaster is super important to me and I can’t put steel vengeance in my top 3 until it gets new trains without shin guards and lots of room. To me those shin guards can burn in hell, because they do nothing except hurt me and make me feel like my shins were about to be cut off by a rusty metal hacksaw
Just got back on it this week after 6 years. I never lost my love for it even after many new credits. 6 more rides later and it is even more my #1 if that's even possible
I think people hear about how great the ride is, then hype it up to unrealistic expectations, and then get surprised when their expectations aren’t met.
For me I don't hate steel vengeance at all I love it I'm just tired of hearing about how there can't possibly be anything better than it and while yes it is amazing pretty much all rmcs feel the same to me and this just feels like big wicked cyclone so that's why I like other rides more. And btw I had that opinion back when I rode it in 2019, I always ranked maverick above it as well even from when I first rode them both I consider steel vengeance the king of airtime that has no positives, and minimal laterals.
They went all out for SV they did everything you could want, it is a perfect coaster. Now its not the best coaster in the world as to my shock Fury 325 is better.
I love this ride and I'm definitely not afraid to admit it. The theme is great too. Usually for me I'm always a bit nervous to go on a ride but once I'm on I feel better. But walking up through frontier town, listening to the western music they play, and seeing steel's height towering over frontier town, always intimidates me lmao.
It’s my #1 and I think it’s the best coaster but people don’t have it at 1 because It may not have elements that they don’t like or they like different elements better but I think the layout makes it one of the best in the world from a layout standpoint
Steel Vengeance is my 2nd favorite, only behind Fury 325 at Carowinds (which in my opinion is way underrated) but steel Vengeance is flat out ridiculous, it is so insane, the hate that it gets is bull crap. And I do think Fury is actually just as great as Steel Vengeance tbh, Fury has completely transformed Carowinds, and without it, Carowinds would be no where near what it is today without Fury.
Fury has been voted the best steel coaster in the world for 5 years in a row It is the most widely agreed on best coaster in existence How the fuck do you call it underrated bruh. Its the most highly rated coaster ever. Pay attention. Literally the only coaster people even compare to Fury is Steel Vengeance. Its those 2, and then a big gap to everything else. This dude out here like "I actually think Breaking Bad is a good TV show, people should watch it"
@@gibiati8295 Most enthusiasts put Fury at their number 9, or 10, or even out of their top ten. Im saying that I think it is better than a lot of the rides that coaster enthusiasts like more, such as El Toro, which is a very unpopular opinion. Most people would put Steel Vengeance above Fury, but in my opinion, I think Fury is a tad better, which is why i said it is underrated (also it is not way underrated idk why i said it like that)
People want to hate on Steve mainly due to people not liking things to remain popular a long time treating it like it’s a trend, but yeah Steve is still amazing even now in 2022 (and I haven’t even rode it yet) it’s still a ride I want to do
That’s part of human nature. When something is great for many people, some will always find all the flaws possible to make it worse than it is. Steel Vengeance is amazing, as amazing as Millenium Force, Maverick, El Toro, Iron Gwazi, kinda Ka, Nitro, Voyage, Velocicoaster, Fury 325… all of them deliver an amazing experience of its own. I would love a Steel Vengeance copy in the DC area
It may not be my #1, but I can't argue with anyone who says it's the best, thanks to its sheer length and airtime. It's probably the best coaster in the world for ejector airtime though. I just prefer Lightning Rod and Voyage's wooded settings over SteVe's lakeside views.
if there's a coaster that deserves hate, it's Corkscrew. SteVe seems awesome and there's a lot of effort put into it (RMCing Mean Streak, the layout, EVEN THE LORE???) and i can't wait to ride it the next time i go to Cedar Point. along with the other bigger coasters of course.
In my opinion, steel vengeance is the perfect coaster. People hate on it because they don’t want the same number 1 for a long time. The only single ride I’ve had nearly as good was a morning ride on Behemoth at Canada’s Wonderland for my first coaster of the year, and having so much room I wasn’t stapled at all, and being out of my seat and shaking around so much was an insane feeling. Not the same as SteVe, but close
I will say, SteVe has been dethroned as my Number 1 by I305 and was then knocked down again by Twisted Timbers (Thank you Kings Dominion for a fantastic top 3!), but I still absolutely LOOOOOOVE SteVe, It has great airtime, great layout, a LONG layout, great elements, and it's just a beautiful ride. Twisted Timbers for me was just a bit more intense since because it wasn't as tall or as fast, the elements could be smaller and closer together, meaning there is less time going through valleys and more time out of your seat, and well I305 just wants to kill so I love that~
It's objectively almost entirely unique among coasters. I think a good chunk of people who hate on it may not have ever even been on it, so it may stem from some bitterness combined with an inability to imagine just HOW different it is from everything else out there.
The funny thing are the complaints about roughness. It just tells me they've never ridden it. I was mindblown over how smooth the entire ride was. The most rough thing was how hard it braked at the end. Its my number 1 coaster for sure. Mean Streak was easily one of my top 5 before and SteVe moved to the top!
I don’t hate steel Vengeance. The only reason I believe it’s overrated is when it always wins as #1. There are so many roller coasters I prefer like Velocicoaster. But people have always been saying that they love RMCs over Intamin blitzes. I completely disagree. I think Intamin blitzes are miles better than Steve and other RMC hyper hybrids
@@its_jj_maia I agree with your first point; I personally have Velocicoaster above Steel Vengeance. But that isn't all Steel Vengeance is and you know it.
@@triple7marc I mean obviously, there are some barrel rolls and some other inversions but really its a top hat and outerbank, some inversions and the second half is just airtime hills. I personally prefer Iron Gwazi cause the only reason why it's shorter than SteVe is because it's faster, which is kinda good tbh. Plus there are so many other elements than just the second half being airtime hills.
RMC coasters just has those elements and design that no other coaster manufacturers have been able to make. Steve is the pinnacle of that. Granted, I haven't rode Zadra or Iron Gwazi yet.
I’ve been on Velosicoaster, the theming is spectacular second to none now the ride is intense at times but to say it’s number one? No Iron Gwazi(which Ill be riding this Friday) will be Florida’s number one coaster and Tallest hybrid coaster in the US. However, I will be riding Steel Vengeance for the first time this summer and I expect it to live up to the number one coaster in the world 🌎 status. Anyone who hates on it probably never rode before so they’re stupid and look at the layout damn how could it not be number one wow awesome video. Btw my home park was SF great adventure in NJ and El Toro was great but come on let’s be real here steel vengeance
Valid points, but sometimes the freshness wears off & people judge things as a whole. Me personally I would agree Steel Vengeance is likely the most intense roller coaster in the USA if not the world… it’s not my personal favorite coaster at all. In fact for me it’s a bit too much, but I see why it’s considered the very best by many. It’s definitely not over rated, just not my personal flavor when it comes to coasters. GateKeeper has been my favorite for a while now…
I don’t hate on it because I want attention. I was just severely disappointed by it. Plus, I prefer launches and speed over airtime, so that’s why it’s not my favorite coaster, or even my top 3 in the park. That’s just me personally.
When you get the most love someone is always going to get envious. Not only it's the best but it's located in one of the best Amusement Parks in the world. The best of the both worlds and Steel Vengeance is still #1!
Parts of Steel Vengeance I love. I love the sheer intensity of it. I love all the air time. I love how it surprises. I love the originality of the design. And how it uses the old structure. BUT - it could just be the way I’m physically built - I find it really uncomfortable. Like, it hurts my thighs. I want either a broader lap restraint - like the B&M Speedcoaster - or more padding.
I don't understand the mindset of some trolls that really just want some attention really for hating on a coaster, whether it's genuine or not. They just have no life really. And I agree, your opinions are actually genuine. I can actually tell that you have a strong opinion on Morgan hypers or Skyrush that people can see are true to you. But the majority of other people, I can't say the same. Getting attention for the sake of it isn't worth anything, and really it just makes a person weirder and there is less to like about them as a result.
I feel like any coaster at a park as popular as Cedar point is doomed to just be hated on because it’s the popular thing to do to hate things that are popular
I rode Steel Vengeance and Iron Gwazi a week apart and with my expectations of a great coaster, Steel Vengeance was better. The airtime, turns and twists are relentless. It's been awhile since I've ridden Iron Gwazi, but everyone seems to hype up the intensity, which I didn't seem to find to be the highlight of the ride. Maybe I really need my third ride on it, but SV never fails to have an impossible to remove smile on my face, even after probably 30-40+ re-rides.
@@triple7marc @JJ JJ I'm hating on Steel Vengeance and I'm not saying it's not the best coaster in the world, I was just making comment that a reason people are not liking steel vengeance as much is that they are tired of hearing "number one: steel vengeance" in every single ranking video.
Honestly I only somewhat hate on popular things subjectivity. If I’m interested in what’s popular than I’m all for it, when it’s something I’m not interested in I’m either neutral or when it has an annoying fanbase I hate it but only subjectively. It don’t have many coaster credits but Steel Vengeance is in those few and it’s definitely my #1
I'm just going to go out and say this right now, being probably one of the only people in the comments that have ridden both Iron Gwazi and Steel Vengeance I personally think Iron Gwazi is better. I think Steel Vengeance is an absolutely amazing attraction but there are some points where I feel the ride gets repetitive. Iron Gwazi fixes that problem as all the elements on that ride are unique to one another. Personally, I think the length of the ride is perfect and I think a good coaster doesn't need such a long layout like Steel Vengeance to be good. Iron Gwazi proves you don't need a long layout to be good but, again I still think Steel Vengeance is absolutely amazing and I would love to ride it again! Also don't follow other people's opinions... GROSS lol hope this helped :)
Enthusiasts literally complain about anything this is basically the perfect coaster for the enthusiasts. It is all elector airtime every single hill throws you out of your seat and it also has a low to the ground section that goes into the freaking structure what the hell could you want if you’re enthusiast? I don’t think it’s number 1 as I do prefer Fury 325 which totally surprised me but still once people started complaining about this coaster then I knew it was just people wanting attention.
It’s simply backlash…if something is widely acclaimed, at a certain point someone is gonna go “really?” and then of course you get the “I rode nemesis 15 times back when it opened and the river was still blood red and blehhhh” crowd too. You see it in every community.
I love this thing but I still put veloci and maverick ahead of it because I'm a sucker for intamin launch coasters I guess, but saying vengeance is bad it's amazing and I'd roll my eyes if you say that (unless you actually hate it honestly)
Its funny how ppl complain that some rmc hybrids have little airtime and then when you give them airtime, they complain that its "too much". Coaster Thoosies will never be satisfied.
I think its going further into Steel Vengeance, it seems with other manufactures taking notes from the RMC playbook, people have started to find that most RMC coasters feel the same in terms of forces. I think its turned into is RMC overrated as a manufacturer, as can be seen with some videos being posted.
So many people think Iron Gwazi is better than Vengeance and I personally think that Steve is a lot better in my opinion. people say that the pacing is bad compared to gwazi and I don’t believe that, every element is great and this ride is nearly twice the duration of most RMC and you still reach the end with a lot of speed left. I’d definitely prefer a long ride with crazy airtime moments from start to finish then a shorter more intense ride which is iron gwazi that does not have nearly as many airtime moments that Vengeance has.
It’s not that I hate Steel Vengeance or don’t think it’s very good, it’s just a little overhyped. I rode Steel Vengeance for the first time in 2020 and I rode it 6 times over my visit, but I just left feeling like I had missed something. It was good and the ride places in my top 10, but I just didn’t feel like it was as aggressive as some of the other RMCs. I prefer Iron Rattler, Outlaw Run, and Twisted Colossus to Steel Vengeance. Storm Chaser is real close to surpassing Steely as well.
I've never been on Steve but my number 1 is Velocicoaster. X2 is my second which was my #1 for many years. For those who have been to Asia believe Einja is the GOAT. I can't wait to ride Steel Vengeance tho. I wish Iron Gwazi would have been open when I went to Orlando in October
@@theninthheart4736 depends who you ask or preference some Eejanaika and some flying Dino but I've consistently seen Eej over flying dinos. Wouldn't know until I ride them but I like X2 over Tatsu so that's as close as I can get to that debate
As one of the OG Vengeance Haters who legitimately and earnestly disliked it... bruh even I can't say it's the worst RMC anymore after doing TwiCol, IRat, and WiCy.
i first saw the title wrong and thought it said "How did hated steel vengance become cool" thinkjng it was saying that mean streak which was hated became steel vengance which is a cool ride
Personally I feel it's a combination of things. 1. I think part of it is a remnant from the roller coaster wars. There are still park fanboys that religiously attack parks that may or may not be competitors to their favorite park. I know people who are still Cedar Point fanboys that still hate on Kings Island. Even though both parks are now owned by the same company. 2. Video's on roller coasters aren't exactly traffic magnets. Some people think that going against the grain will gain them more attention. You see the same thing in any other "review" channel. 3. People like me are tired of the increasing wait times. To the point where some of us believe it's a conspiracy to get more people to buy into line skip passes. So we just hate everything.
I think it’s easy to forget about how good steel vengeance’s layout is. Sometimes I begin to think I might like other rides better, then I look at the POV again and am like nope😂
The layout goes crazy.
@@ParkPros Really crazy, just not as good as veloci coaster or fury 325
People hate on coasters over time, it's the way most peoples' minds work. Look at Fury 325, most enthusiasts see it as a lame ride nowadays.

@@greatdanny2005lol fury 325 is such a basic pick.
Well said! 👏
yeah i completely agree
...velocicoaster...? It isn’t/wasn’t even remotely at the same level as sheer hype as SV was/is, and for good reason..
I always roll my eyes when I hear someone say Steel Vengeance isn't that good 😄
what's your #1???? SV...Blew me away....
I think i got caught up in the hype, I expected it to be this mind blowing coaster, but it turned out to be like a #13 for me. It is not bad in any way, but i don't really think its great. I've only ridden it once tho, so i should probably ride it more.
Steel Vengeance blew my mind when I first rode it in 2018. Had no idea a coaster could be that good
This is how I felt when I first rode it in 2019. I was speechless.
Also me in July 2021
AGREED..ITS THE BEST
Steel Vengeance: Great!
Iron Gwazi: Great!
Velocicoaster: Great!
Verdict: Ride all three!
I have definitely noticed this as well. I wonder if the same thing will happen with Iron Gwazi
Really interesting comment. That's such a sweet mechanic to have built into a game!
"Steve"
P.S yes I still have difficulty putting this type of topic in words so just bare with me on this
Well said!
Popular music & film/television is generally just awful though. Terrible comparison
@@theninthheart4736 You are proving my point.

@@ParkPros You're welcome! You deserve a lot more than 7k subs. Keep up the good work!
I thought it would be overrated until I rode it, really does live up to the hype, best coaster I've been on.
Zadra is barely a top tier RMC
I know how you feel, and decency bias is definitely a part of that. Rode fury for the first time in June and immediately thought it was my new favorite, then I rode maverick and Steve again and realized how wrong I was lol.
@@theninthheart4736 you tripping you must have never ridden zadra
I think it’s a mix between people loving to hate the popular thing, as well as people who are sick of enthusiasts constantly simping over RMC.
Need to start my coastervlog it’s been way too long. Need a coaster bf that will go with me on these adventures and shoots as well. 😂
For that reason I go even to far to think that Taron (I have ridden that) is better than Steve (haven’t ridden it)🥴

I rode it for the first time today expecting to not like it because it gets ranked so high (I genuinely do not like El Toro and everyone hyped it up so I figured this would be similar). And now it’s my favorite coaster ever. I swore up and down I was a B&M gal for life but here we are
Best intro music... tryin to catch me hollering at the moon... Yes sir
Smart. Mature. Totally on point analysis. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Appreciate that
Honestly the best aspect of Steve is it’s pacing, ik it’s not quite the same as it used to be, but when I rode it it was flying, and the amount of stuff it has packed into this layout, not just airtime
"That was...fun ride" "Very fast"
Lmao. Good video.

“Even now in 2022” what does it being 2022 have to do with anything...? This comment made zero sense
I just prefer Lightning Rod and Voyage's wooded settings over SteVe's lakeside views.

along with the other bigger coasters of course.
Now if kings island can just make something like steel vengeance we will really have something going man
I don't hate Steel Vengeance, I hate the WAIT for Steel Vengeance!
Twisted Timbers for me was just a bit more intense since because it wasn't as tall or as fast, the elements could be smaller and closer together, meaning there is less time going through valleys and more time out of your seat, and well I305 just wants to kill so I love that~
If steel vengeance was built today it would be everyone’s number 1 just sayin

Plus there are so many other elements than just the second half being airtime hills.

Toro is widely considered the greatest wooden coaster ever made alongside Voyage

I think a lot of people (including me) just get tired of Steel Vengeance being the #1 coaster on almost everyone's list.
Why do YOU get tired of how other people rank a ride?
@@triple7marc It's just kind of repetitive
Lol that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a number 1 coaster. It’s far better than iron Gwazi. I call it like I see it.
@@CoasterCreationTV Maybe so many people have it as their number 1 because… gee, I don’t know why… care to take a guess?
@@triple7marc @JJ JJ I'm hating on Steel Vengeance and I'm not saying it's not the best coaster in the world, I was just making comment that a reason people are not liking steel vengeance as much is that they are tired of hearing "number one: steel vengeance" in every single ranking video.
Steel vengeance is my number seven but intimidator 305 is my number one
Agreed man, gotta respect that.
GROSS lol
hope this helped :)
I'm getting on Gwazi this weekend, can't wait to see what it's like.
@@ParkPros Dude, it's absolutely amazing...
And that's fine, a coaster can be world-class without being the best in the world.
Steel Vengeance is my #5 RMC, but it and the other four are all in my top 15. It isn't my number 1, but I can still see how good it is.
It’s simply backlash…if something is widely acclaimed, at a certain point someone is gonna go “really?” and then of course you get the “I rode nemesis 15 times back when it opened and the river was still blood red and blehhhh” crowd too. You see it in every community.
Think they’ll ever update the beast?
No it’s too iconic!
I love this thing but I still put veloci and maverick ahead of it because I'm a sucker for intamin launch coasters I guess, but saying vengeance is bad it's amazing and I'd roll my eyes if you say that (unless you actually hate it honestly)
Enthusiasts see 3 people call a ride overrated then cry about it getting too much hate no matter how valid lol
Bruh you literally hate on this ride for no reason on your meme account LMFAO
Steel vengeance still gets a 2 hour wait though especially in the summer on weekends and halloweekends to gets 2 hour wait to for that ride
Fast Pass. I waited 15 mins
Its funny how ppl complain that some rmc hybrids have little airtime and then when you give them airtime, they complain that its "too much". Coaster Thoosies will never be satisfied.
This ride was literally built for an enthusiast
I think its going further into Steel Vengeance, it seems with other manufactures taking notes from the RMC playbook, people have started to find that most RMC coasters feel the same in terms of forces. I think its turned into is RMC overrated as a manufacturer, as can be seen with some videos being posted.
finally someone said it
Who cares what others think? If people want to “hate” on something, what’s that have to do with MY enjoyment of the ride? Let them hate. 🤷🏿
lol different opinion = quirky
Flying Dino**, not Eej
@@theninthheart4736 depends who you ask or preference some Eejanaika and some flying Dino but I've consistently seen Eej over flying dinos. Wouldn't know until I ride them but I like X2 over Tatsu so that's as close as I can get to that debate
As one of the OG Vengeance Haters who legitimately and earnestly disliked it... bruh even I can't say it's the worst RMC anymore after doing TwiCol, IRat, and WiCy.
It is decent, I remember the seats being cramped and uncomfortable compared to the newer style seats.
Steel Vengeance features the newest RMC seats out there.
1:23 Made me laugh so hard. Also Steel Vengeance is great don't know why people hate on it
i first saw the title wrong and thought it said "How did hated steel vengance become cool" thinkjng it was saying that mean streak which was hated became steel vengance which is a cool ride
Steel Vengeance actually looks sick!
The SteVe hate is actually an inside job from the coaster community. If people think the ride isn't that good, maybe the lines will get shorter!
How bad are the lines for Steel Vengeance in the summer in the middle of the week?
Bad 😂
@@ParkPros looks like I'm going to have to fork over the big bucks for a fast pass....
