First time watching better call saul (reaction)
Lelo x Lalo 🤝
Jimmy’s story of what makes Huell a hero is saving saving somebody from a burning building. You can tell how deeply Jimmy’s regret over Chuck is
Awe. I hadn't caught that. Good point.
I didn’t notice that that’s sad
Ahhh, Lalo and his charisma! I'll never get tired of that smile.
The next one starts out so confusing but so good and then Lalo brings an important piece to the entire BB universe. This is where both the humor and intensity amp up.
"No no it wasnt me it was Ignacio (Nacho), He's the one" "Lalo didnt send you, No Lalo? Oh thank god" - Breaking Bad, season 2, episode 8, "Better Call Saul"
my man Saul is traumatized by Lalo
Finally the other piece of that statement is here.
Lalo: "It's going to be like I'm not even here."
Without giving anything away, that's a lie! Despite showing up late, Lalo is going to leave such a mark on the show by the time it ends that you won't even believe it!
I love that line too because everybody else in the scene is clearly on edge, he’s blasting music, and he waltzes right in to an important spot
I mean, he's already taken over the restaurant.
The way he delivers that line with that impish smile you know it is not going to be the true. Elie got excited with that line because he knew this was not going to be the case. Such perfect delivery. This actor brings an odd mixture of boyish charm and chilling sense of doom.
Huel is a great man. He let me borrow his Bentley one night when I had a flat tire. Great guy!
🤣🤣🤣 he single handedly passed my law degree for me. Great guy.
@@eliemoses😂😂😂😂 yes I agree Huel is a great man when I was going through hard time he let me stay at his house free charge untili got back on my feet he is a wonderful man
@@eliemoses 😂😂
@@eliemoses Huel is such a great man though
Best character in better call saul has arrived
I like how this show has characters that instead being totally clueless and oblivious all the time, pick up on their scams lol it almost voices the audience in a way
‘’It’s gonna be like im not even here’’ while blasting music on the speakers through the entire restaurant lol
Epic reaction as always Ellie🫡
Lalo Salamanca is my favorite character of the entire series. You are going to love him! And yes, Kim is a stickler for following the rules. This is why she gets off any time they break the rules.
"Paca paca paca paca en mi caballo! Paca paca paca paca en mi caballo!" - I can't help but sing this whenever I'm cooking, and not just tacos.
Some Coushatta trivia for you! -
This is episode 100 in the BB/BCS universe, and what better way to celebrate by introducing you to Lalo, a Salamanca who seems to be having a little more fun in life, and invading the space of Nacho, simply by cooking and singing.
As I'm sure others will have mentioned - Lalo is mentioned by Saul in BB, originally - along with Ignacio (Nacho) - as a throwaway name. Vince actually didn't think they needed to introduce Lalo, as they already had Nacho, but the writers hounded him, and he's sure glad they did.
Regarding the bus ride in the teaser - the (very hot) bus was actually, simply, being driven around Albuquerque all day and night, just round and round and round, no green screen. Bob was given free rein to improv too, and was so dedicated to the scene that he in fact fell ill the next day.
Regarding the scam, recognise that the crimes that follow is likely teased on the bus, as one of the cards has a cross on its cover, and gets inverted as Jimmy opens the card cover to read. As an inverted cross can symbolise unholiness, this likely foreshadows his sinful and deceitful behaviour, especially as he later impersonates a church pastor.
Nacho's home is someone's actual home in Albuquerque, and the homeowner was pregnant and could've gone into labour at any time, yet she still allowed the team to redesign her home and shoot there. More proof, as if it's needed, that the people of that city just love the BB/BCS family.
Before the strip club scene was written, the writers thought it would be funny if Mike in fact takes them to a trivia night, as that would be his idea of R & R. Would've paid to have seen that. But I guess Mike did get his R & R with Werner at the bar.
(side note: the show got a truck load of shit from angry fans online (naturally) saying that Werner's father wasn't the architect of the Sydney Opera House, but they obviously weren't listening, as Werner said that his father was a construction engineer, and that he simply helped build it.)
Great catch on Kai's Dortmund jersey!
The scene where Mike has a word with Werner is one take of two - the other had Werner giggling over just how drunk he was, which caused Mike to get very angry and foam at the mouth. But they went with this take, the complete contrast.
Also, the warehouse where all the German lads reside is the largest warehouse in Albuquerque. If memory serves it was used to make solar panels.
What's really fascinating about the entire scam also - and it was a five-star nightmare to write I understand - is that in the previous episode, Jimmy's plan was to impeach the cop's credibility, but it's Kim's idea to avoid that and raise the status and credibility of Huell, an actual criminal.
There was a massive fuck up - kinda - regarding the scene where Julie Pearl who plays Ericsen storms into the office with all of the letters: due to a production error, Julie wasn't aware that she was filming this on that day, and only had half a day to learn the lines and rehearse on set, but the actors who play the aides weren't there yet. So, guess who ran to the rescue... Bob. Ran straight over, rehearsed with her, he acted the parts of the aides, and then... Well, Julie gave us acting gold. A weighty scene, the entire scam working relied on her, and she was *chef's kiss*.
The laptop used by Ericsen while Jimmy is pretending to be the church pastor is the same model used in the 'Live Free or Die' episode in BB, where Walt and Jesse test the industrial electromagnet in the truck on its ability to wipe a laptop's hard drive (it's a Dell Latitude D630, if you're curious).
(side note two: recognise the red around the collar of Jimmy's sweater, because he's up to no good...)
Jimmy states that Kim's legal performance in defending Huell is like "Roy Hobbs knocking out the stadium lights" - that's a reference to the final scene in the film 'The Natural' where the protagonist baseball player of the same name hits a home run into the stadium lights of his home field to win the final game.
And now you've met Lalo. So, hold onto your balls for this ride, Moses.
"PACA PACA!" x
Lalooooooooo!!!
Possibly one of the best characters in the entire universe. And that says a lot, considering both BrBa and BCS have no bad characters and they're all great haha 😅
The one who benefited the most from Chuck’s death was mini-Iron Man.
So much happening in that episode. Lalo is finally here. The show has everything at this point.
Lalo gotta be one of my favorite characters in the BB universe. The way he switches his demeanor from the most likeable guy in the room to the scariest is unreal
Amazing reaction once again! I noticed as well on episode six that you said you need recommendations of shows for when you’re done with Better Call Saul. And I know that I’ve said it before so I’m sorry since you’ve already seen it. But The Walking Dead has so much stuff that I would love for you to react to, it’s 11 season long which judging by the speed you go through shows wouldn’t be a long time. But I’ve seen some other channels do reactions and watch throughs of the show and their numbers have been pretty great, although I would advice you not to look to much into the other reactions since there’s some spoilers in the titles of some channel’s videos. If you decide to watch The Walking Dead then I’d be happy to help you with moderation and helping with spoilers, I would genuinely just want you to have a good experience watching the show. There is just so much to the show, I don’t know what you already know about the show. But there is so much more than just zombies! I’ve been watching your Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel in between your Better Call Saul uploads and I noticed how you don’t only like the very action filled episodes but also the ones that are focused on forwarding character development and I would personally say that The Walking Dead is great at this. I don’t want to spoil anything if you decide to watch it so I can’t say too much. But considering the way you analyze things in the shows you watch and how fast you go through shows I do think that The Walking Dead would be absolutely amazing to watch with your videos!
I don't know how you manage to be a law student, a film student, and a reaction youtuber all at the same time. Props to you
Graduation Kanye West 🤣
I forgot about “let’s do it again.” That was the moment that really could’ve helped change Saul for the better but it’s gone
I see it different. Kim was someone holding him back from going too far, her joining him finally gave him permission to give in to his Slippin’ Jimmy side.
@@notoriouslybratty yea that’s what i meant
Hector taught Lalo everything he knows.
Lalo: the first intelligent Salamanca.
One of the funniest ep of the series and THE introduction of the showstealer of this series' universe: LALO
34:08 - Looks like Tuco’s HQ from Breaking Bad that Walter blew up with his fulminated mercy. And the same camera angle, I think?
Huell once picked a car up off of me and saved my life. He is a pillar of the community
Ah Lalo! Finally! Been waiting for him to show up. And once again, we see in this episode, how good acting, and the law business, go hand in hand.
Elie: "uploads may slow down"
*uploading intensifies*
STOP COMPLAINING 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is one of my favourite episodes, and my favourite scheme from either show when Jimmy gets going with the letter bag, and gets all the bus passengers to fill out the letters going all the way to Louisianna to post them. Back at the diner we have Krazy 8 doing Nacho's job, and Nacho doing the Hector bit. Nacho knows how deep in he is now, and the Germans are out on the razz. Interesting conversation with Mike and Werner talking about their fathers. Mike has to smooth things over with the bouncers because of that punk Kai. With Werner drunk Mike can see them becoming loose with talk about the construction stories. Kim marching in to the Prosecutor's office with a legal team a great shot, and stalling and dragging out the potential case. Mike give Werner a good talking to, and warns him about his future actions not to cross Fring. I remember laughing out loud at all the bags of letters arriving to support Huell. So funny when Kim says I do know they are sending a contingent to court to support Huell, and the judge says I dont not want my court packed with a bunch of 'yahoos. The phone calls are just hilarious with Camera Guy, Sound Guy and Make Up Girl all back on the phone lines, and then the stories of Huell on the internet with fake websites etc. Then Jimmy pretending to be The Pastor with the organ playing in the background. Kim knows she has pulled it off, and wants Jimmy to speak in the Louisiana accent. Kim of course getting involved in the Huell scam goes against her morals regarding the law, but it seems she needs excitement away from Mesa Verde. Mike reporting to Fring on Werner and believes Mike when he vouches for him this time. Great scene with Kim and Jimmy against the wall, and she says lets do it again. Of course we get the final scene with Lalo appearing, and lets face it, he as cruel a Salamanca as any of them, very clever and ruthless at the same time. Nacho is now very worried of course. This was a brilliant episode again.
Finally we are here
Speaking of names, Elie needs to watch Elio when it comes out. It’s an animated Pixar movie coming out in 2024. Please save it for RUclips reaction. Elie watches Elio! Not your typical choice of reaction movie but how can you resist. Avoid looking it up, just know there is a movie like with a name similar to yours coming your way. 😉
Another great reaction from my favorite BCS reactor.
And, if you’re still taking suggestions for a new series, I would like to recommend Band of Brothers. It’s short, but definitely a 10 out of 10. And while reacting to it, it’ll give you some time to consider another series. Keep up the good work, Elie!
HECK YEAH! Game-changer episode for BCS, from awesome to total OMG mode :)
Michael. There are not many people who call him as that ;)
cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait... for you to see the whole thing.
That is why BCS is so great to rewatch. It can feel like this is suddenly the start of slipping Kim but if you rewatch you can see subtle hints of it starting to grow from the beginning (or at least the start of season 2 😉). Also to her new passion of being a criminal defence lawyer. From the beginning she say that Jimmy’s work sounded so much more interesting than her contract law work. Oh, you have to rewatch this series. You catch so much more the second time around.
Yes!!! Starting watching right now :)
You are definitely not the first person to come up with the idea of “Slippin’ Kimmy”, that is basically her Official nickname starting from this point. Notice that when Judge Nelix directly asked her “Mrs Wexler, did you start this particular ball rolling?”, rather than answer his actual question she re-states it as “Did I instruct the people of Coshatta, Louisiana to start writing letters to the court?…” a DIFFERENT question to which she could honestly reply “…No, your Honor, I did not!” She has now lost all moral standing to lecture Jimmy about ethics.
At this point we know only three things about Lalo: 1) He cooks a mean fajita. 2) He’s a Salamanca. And 3) Years from now when Walter White has Saul hog tied & kneeling in front of an open grave in the desert, He’s so relieved to learn that these two mysterious masked abductors were NOT sent by Lalo that he actually screams out “Oh THANK GOD!!!” So yeah, I think it’s safe to say that this Lalo fellow will play a role going forward, perhaps as a sort of minor comic relief sort of character, Who knows?
Justice for Huell!!!!
FREE THE REAL!!
Jimmy is using a sketchy Cajun accent, specific to Louisiana.
Jimmy was affecting a Cajun accent
Kim did cross the legal line into Slippin' Jimmy territory. She did it because of her love of Jimmy. Honestly, for reasons I can't really go into now, it's very much like a drug dealer/user convincing someone who loves them to try a certain drug. I don't think either of these two really know about the other when it comes to their childhoods and what their lives have been, not that that would have compelled Jimmy to behave differently. At least Huell is a pretty good reason to do this for.
Better Call Saul just started! Lalo is the best character ever!
Cmon that's disrespectful hahhahah the show has been fantastic since the first second imo.
@@eliemoses you will understand soon lmao. easily a top 5 character in bcs
@gulzey4322 not denying that i love the guyy one the best charcaters in the bb universe and i just started s5
So many spoilers in the comments. Sheesh.
An upload!
Acting like i been gone 84 years this ain't Titanic.
Late to this, but I still wonder. Is it really anything illegal going on?
Kim didn't write any letters, answered any calls or will use the letters as evidence. So is it fabricating evidence? Jimmy and the busriders who wrote them are not involved in the case.
For someone to write a lie in a letter or a postcard can't be illegal in itself. Not even if you send it to a judge. Sure, if you try to scam or blackmail someone it would be different. But isn't this just lying to expressing opinions?
Of course it's immoral as heck as it scares the prosecution to be more lenient. But Kim isn't taking part in the lying. And lying isn't illegal unless you do it in court, right?
In Aus there are conduct rules for solicitors and barristers so this definitely warrants getting struck off or suspended 😊
Slippin Kimmy indeed.
LALO
Lol, my thoughts exactly
@@NicholasHowell-o5itotally agree but I still would modify the comment in case Elie reads it. It is obvious but that saying it confirms it.
@@notoriouslybratty my bad I deleted it thanks lol
@@notoriouslybratty thanks for the save
@@NicholasHowell-o5i thanks. Lol. What is great about Elie is he loves to read comments and even replies (especially right away). I even caught him going back to older videos and reading and liking comments. The man loves engaging with his audience.
lalo the goat
To me this just shows how Jimmy (and Kim) are also obsessive over controlling the situation around them. Ppl love to criticize Chuck for that trait, but Jimmy is no better, and how low he goes by using so many resources shows he’s arguably worse in that regard
Look forward to Lalo, I'm saying no more 😅
So what do u thinkkkk? 😂
Werner Zieeeeeeeeegleeerrrrrr
