When filming the scene with Newt in the duct, Carrie Henn kept deliberately blowing her scene so she could slide down the vent, which she later called a slide three stories tall. James Cameron finally dissuaded her by saying that if she completed the shot, she could play on it as much as she wanted. She did, and he kept his promise.
Paul Reiser, who plays Carter Burke, was cast against type here. He was known for playing likeable characters in sitcoms and the Beverly Hills Cop film. There's a story that at the premiere of Aliens his own mother cheered when Burke got killed.
Sigourney Weaver had several notes for James Cameron after having read his script, which were mostly about how she felt Ripley should respond to her situations, which he was happy to accommodate. Cameron praised her for never taking issue with the direction he wanted to take with the story, even with the points they couldn't agree on. One of them was the amount of gun violence; Weaver had initially focused on the script's dialogue rather than stage directions, so when she arrived on set, she told Cameron that as an advocate for gun control, she was uncomfortable with all the shooting.
The colony was not experimenting on the aliens and didn’t know they even existed until Riley was found. When Burke heard the story, he sent people to the crash site and they were hit with the face huggers. The face huggers in the tubes were the ones that they removed from infected colonists.
4:30 We can see you guys did not get the extended version of this movie. That is unfortunate. There is actually information/backstory for Ripley/Newt/ and the Colony that you missed out on. If possible, you should look for the deleted scenes online. It will make the movie better
Carrie Henn was unable to reprise her role in Alien³ due to the age difference with her character; instead, Newt was briefly portrayed by Danielle Edmond. Carrie Henn admitted the last few part of her line regarding Xenomorph's behavior ("...they mostly come at night... mostly.") to be her least favorite because her friends would come up with variants of it to tease her with.
I feel sorry Carrie tho, she must’ve had some PTSD moments from reliving this movie every time they brought it up just to mess with her long time smh. But don’t get me wrong I’m on Carrie’s side, I on the other hand not interested in the Alien movie franchise like that because it’s scary (which is why I don’t talk about it to anyone); I’m glad that she’s doing great right now, she’s in a position of taking care of her family & being a school teacher, Carrie will always be loved from her iconic role in this film.
It's a pretty big planet. The reason no one ever found the nest right away for so many years. Was because they didn't have the location. Not until Ripley told them all in that staff meeting where it was and how far their crew had to walk, and Burk sent them to the location of the ship.
They should have kept the sentry guns scenes in the theatrical version, it shows how intelligent the xenomorphs after their attempts in trying to break in while getting shot. It helps explain how they figure out a way into their complex area they were hiding at. In the those deleted scenes ripely and the marines brought with them a few sentry guns. They place them in the hallway and a tunnel to guard the barricades doors they sealed. You see the sentry guns turning around facing the hallway or tunnel. When the aliens came at the hallway , ripely and the marines watched from the security camera in the complex they were hiding at seeing them getting bodied by the sentry guns and also. They have a laptop that keeping track of the sentry guns ammo quickly running out. In the end of those scenes the aliens retreated seeing how many of them getting shot. It managed to bought ripely and marines more time. This also explains why only a few xenomorphs came to protect the queen rather than many in the third act because so many if them were killed by the sentry guns. If it weren’t for the sentry guns that were put out ,ripley and nwet would have been overwhelmed by the massive number of aliens to worry about besides the queen going after them. They might had to really fight their way out rather than ripley just running her way back to bishop we see in the movie Those two scenes to me is one of the best moments in this movie
The flying vehicles in Cameron's films exhibit helicopter-like flight characteristics regardless of their design. Specifically, the noses of the vehicles dip to initiate forward movement (also: The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), True Lies (1994), Avatar (2009)).
@ exactly, I have nothing against CGI, but it's being overly used for a cheap way to make a movie if you use both practical and digital animation, it would make the CGI part more realistic
Glad you guys got around to these, legendary top shelf sci-fi. And like someone said, insanely influential, iconic. If you're gonna watch 3 definitely go for the WAY better Assembly (Directors) cut. The overall plot and tone of the movie pissed a lot of people off, but it's hella underappreciated. Even my favorite tbh
Whats funny is, in all the other movies the common Xeno was a Drone. But these were different since they were Soldiers, similar to how Ant colonies have larger soldier ants to protect the hive.
If you haven’t already check out other James Cameron movies. The Abyss, Titanic. He tends to cast same actors, and also uses same/ similar Practical Effects, pretty cool.
Aliens is my favorite out of this franchise. Besides Parts 1&2 they can keep the rest. This may be off topic but if you guys have not done "The Lord of the Rings", please do it. Take it from an 80s kid, there is only 2 Terminator movies and 2 Alien movies. The movie looked pretty much the same. We recorded this on VIDEO TAPE and it better on the big screen and a fun thing to watch in the movie theater. Another scary movie is "Poltergeist" 1982...
along side Bill Paxton and Lance Henrikson also being in Terminator. Bill and Lance were also killed by the Predator. ALSO, Jenette Goldstein who played Vasquez plays Jon Connors foster mom in Terminator 2.
Stay in ORDER OF RELEASE! For Terminator franchise, 1 and 2 are a must, but just theatrical version of T2. T3 is good b/c you get a female Terminator, and it shows how easy it is for Ai to take over . T4 actually shows the John being a leader in the future.
DO NOT WATCH ALIEN 3 or 4. You will regret it. Just stick to the other sequel/ prequels WITH the Predator series IN ORDER OF RELEASE. (To avoid spoilers.)
Im wonder if the group talk about middle dude being too extra off camera & before gathering. Id be annoyed having a sudden shouting on my left & right.
Please review Alien3. It not nearly as popular as 1 & 2 but it has its own good qualities. And just like 2 was very different than 1, # 3 is also different from the originals. Check it out!
After watching Newts Tale on RUclips, I learned a lot about what happened before Ripely, and the soldiers arrived to help out. But I do wish Burkes death would have stayed in the movie too. His death in the comic book was perfect justice. But as always, the books have all the details, and the movies leave out. ruclips.net/video/LYmXECyQp_I/видео.html this is the link to his Alien Theory's channel. He talks about the comic and the backstory of things that movies leave out on. Sorry that links are hard to share with others, I don't know why they disappear sometimes. Whenever I try to share them with others.
One of the best heel turns i have seen Burke starts out the film being an ally and on our side, then turns whereas Gorman goes from hated to literally making his final stand with Alverex
@@sproductionsinc He was one of her biggest supporters though before the company board, during the briefings with the Marines, the landing and then Ripley taking charge after Gorman panics All of that had Burke defending and being on Ripley's side Then we find out he was the cause of the whole thing and he immediately becomes the second villain of the film next to the aliens.
FUN FACT: The actress who played Vaquez, is actually white and played John Connor's foster mom in Terminator 2, and the Irish mother in Titanic. James Cameron uses a lot of the same actors.,
These guys shout and yell over the dialogue constantly....lame, and they lose track and so do we.. of what characters have said. Ridiculous. These guys don't know how to talk without yelling at the top of their lungs...except for the one normal, cool dude on the far left side of the screen with the glasses.
The "Spanish chick" is also the foster mother in Terminator II and in a very brief cameo the redheaded Irish mother who put her kids to bed in Titanic. She is in fact not Spanish. She is a master of disguise.
Yall gotta react to alien Romulus the newest one yall gonna love the android Andy he’s black be stole the show and carry that whole movie phenomenal actor David Johnson
Jus gotta say this… always hated Burke. Not jus because I didn’t trust him, but cause he kept calling Ripley “kiddo”. Dude, she’s been around before you were born! 😂 she should be calling you kiddo!
So yhe robot dudes, theyre the same ones from blade runner So blade runner, predator, aliens and i believe theres another franchise, are all same universe
@sproductionsinc Couldn't be more ignorant if you tried. The special edition is the original story Cameron wrote and filmed. It's his preferred version, and the fans' preferred version, by far. Cutting those scenes creates plot holes and confusion. No one who watches the special edition first has any problem with the "pace," the "mystery," or any of the BS excuses you freaks pulled out if your rear hole.
The directors cut makes several things much more clear.... 🫡 No, this movie was not "retouched or updated" to 4K. This is what 1986 production looks like. Respect. The classics. Fun Fact: Xenomorph encounter math is NOT a 1:1 ratio of Eggs/Facehuggers to Hosts/Drones. Each normal (Non Queen) Facehugger implants Multiple chestburster eggs that will usually cannibalize each other if not presenting in a host with sufficient body mass. You can actually reach a yeild of about 1 viable chestburster per 50kg of host biomass. (This is also why they ignore the cat Jones... Too Small) This means that you can get 2-3 (or more) chestbursters out of larger host creatures, even humans. This can result in exponentially larger Xenomorph outbreaks than a given infected population would presume, much to the chagrin of combat planners.

she's a teacher at the elementary school down the street from my house. my daughter goes to high school with her kids.
Thats so cool, i hope u goto the pta meetings and have autographs @penoyer79
What an unprofessional eight year old.
@@BingoLumpkin-u4v imagine calling an 8 year old unprofessional. lol

He got her on a range to do some shooting. She basically said that, unfortunately, it was fun.
The colony was not experimenting on the aliens and didn’t know they even existed until Riley was found. When Burke heard the story, he sent people to the crash site and they were hit with the face huggers. The face huggers in the tubes were the ones that they removed from infected colonists.
You see more about this in the extended version.
This would have been seen in the extended version
Remember the knife trick it will come back later not in a big way but it’s a subtle nod in a future movie

Extended version is vastly better, especially the faster pacing.
There is a companion book that explains Ripleys missing 57 years..." In space, no one listens to Ripley".
Carrie Henn was unable to reprise her role in Alien³ due to the age difference with her character; instead, Newt was briefly portrayed by Danielle Edmond.
Carrie Henn admitted the last few part of her line regarding Xenomorph's behavior ("...they mostly come at night... mostly.") to be her least favorite because her friends would come up with variants of it to tease her with.
shhhh no alien 3 spoilers lol

Bill Paxton, the actor who plays Hudson aka " Game Over" dude, is 1 of 2 actors in history to be eliminated by an Alien, a Terminator, and a Predator.
It's a pretty big planet. The reason no one ever found the nest right away for so many years. Was because they didn't have the location. Not until Ripley told them all in that staff meeting where it was and how far their crew had to walk, and Burk sent them to the location of the ship.
I can't wait for you guys to watch the 3rd movie, because honestly the 3rd movie gives them all a much needed happy break.
😂

Let’s get it!! Thanksgiving ain’t here yet… it’s still spooky season!!!
The reason for Ripley having a big time grudge against the Xenomorphs is revealed in the special edition and right before the hearing scene
I think the first movie gave enough motivation. That said, my beef with Extended Edition is early introduction of a certain character.
The best part of this movie is that most of this is done in suits and puppetry and miniature figures. And very little CGI
That's why it holds up so good even today.Plus, this is one of Cameron's best films-EASILY.
@ exactly, I have nothing against CGI, but it's being overly used for a cheap way to make a movie if you use both practical and digital animation, it would make the CGI part more realistic

Rttv: where we react to everything
Me: Everything!!
Newt: Casey
Pat: where’s Jojo
Me:…. lol 😝 that was stupid but I loved it
Part 4 is similar to this one. A band of bandits. 3 is like part 2, where you’re battling 1 alien again. 4 is worth it.
Whats funny is, in all the other movies the common Xeno was a Drone. But these were different since they were Soldiers, similar to how Ant colonies have larger soldier ants to protect the hive.
Glad yall liked this, its goated. Yall should try Police Story if youre looking for a classic action Jackie Chan movie.
If you haven’t already check out other James Cameron movies. The Abyss, Titanic. He tends to cast same actors, and also uses same/ similar Practical Effects, pretty cool.
No CGI on the Aliens. Only remastered version with extended editions and deleted scenes. If you haven't, review Predator. Another Sci Fi classic
0:50 pat you mean "well renowned"😂😂
Also, after watching the first Alien at the end, and the beginning of Romulus, you’ll rethink this ending

The actress for Vazquez isn't actually Hispanic, she's full blooded white and decided to "dress up" for the role.
Fantastic, isn't it? Now stop there, no need to watch any more, the Alien saga ends here.
So yhe robot dudes, theyre the same ones from blade runner
