- Australia has received some major coasters over the past few years. This country has received acclaimed rides like DC Rivals Hypercoaster, Steel Taipan, and Leviathan, all of which have special gimmick seats. In this video, I will rank the country's best coasters from parks like Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Dreamworld, and Luna Park.

Also, we need a 25K Q&A
There will be one once I'm home. I'm on a long business trip and the hotel wifi doesn't seem stable enough to live stream.
Love to see a new Canobie upload!
Enjoy!
Recently had a family trip to dreamworld - my dad went on every single ride at the age of 68! We had such a great day taking my nephews on their first thrill rides. The steel taipan was my absolute favourite standout and the Gold Coaster was pure fun :)
It’d been about 20 years since I’d been to a theme park and I enjoyed it so much more than I anticipated.
Glad you had a great day!
Nice list! The top 3 in this country just looks phenomenal and worth the plane ticket right there
top 4 are all amazing . just because steel taipan is a near clone doesn't mean its a bad ride. its awesome . don't forget the spinning seat.
All 3 are amazing, as is number 4.
I’d love MovieWorld to get a spinning back seat for DC Rivals. That would be wicked!
That would.
Solid list 👍
Thanks!
Nice video as always.
I also need a little bit of advice because I'm going to Schwaben Park tomorrow and I am unsure, what to ride first so the wait time isn't too long.
It can take a bit to get in there since their entry area is small. I would arrive 15-20 min before open. Do Hummel Brummel and Wilde Hilde first in that order.
@@CanobieCoaster I already went to Schwaben Park once last year and right after opening, I had to wait for Hummel brummel like over an hour because the queue line was too short and it only ran with 3 cars.
So I guess I could also choose to do the bob kart and the flumes first.
So I live in Sydney and recently went to Luna Park. The Wild Mouse has been closed since like December I think because they are doing a major renovation for it's 60th birthday. The signage around the ride gives a few fun facts about the coaster, but it also says the ride is due to open no later than *Summer 2024*
Glad it's reopening!
@@CanobieCoaster Yeah I rode it as a child and loved it 😊
The only 2 changes I would make are TNT over Project 0, and Steel taipan over Superman but overall very good list!
Thanks! To each their own.
You pretty much nailed it. I prefer Taipan to Superman, but that could be because I have ridden Superman well over 100 times since 2005 and I went the day after, to my last trip to ride Taipan and Rivals again when Taipan opened. I have only ridden Taipan around 7 times plus 1 ride in Spinner. So I guess it's still fresher to me.
I feel that for Mike and seeing what he likes, the Sydney wild mouse (which I have also ridden heaps) would place around 5th or 6th. Abyss would be 3rd for me if it had lap bars but as it is, it belongs where it was placed. Two differences to Saw, Saw doesn't have that insane head chopper on the airtime hill but Saw does have a steep straight drop that has airtime off the MCBR, where as Abyss is a more shallow curved drop. Overall I rate them the same. I think the biggest miss for Mike was Rampage at Adventure World cause he'll never be able to ride it now. If anyone can tell me of another top spin with 18 flips, let me know, as that thing was addictive!
I definitely wish I could have gotten on the wooden wild mouse. I've heard the airtime is crazy. While Rampage looked good, at least I can get a similar experience elsewhere with a shorter cycle.
@@CanobieCoaster It's good, but it's not that crazy. I wonder who told you that. It's a different sort of airtime. I am the bigger guy always so with 2 I have to ride in the back, so maybe the weight of an entire person pushing against me has restricted airtime. I did ride it alone some years back though.
What makes it is the location, lack of trims and indeed, a couple pops of air. It's a good mouse, 5th out of my top 5. Scooby is also top 5 cause it's just such a complete package.
Wild Maus XXL is number one, uncontested.
PS the Blackpool wooden mouse was THE best wooden mouse ever. That one ripped my heart open when they demolished it. I couldn't deal with it.
good news! luna park Sydney announced that the wild mouse is getting a complete refurb and will be open summer 2024 (Australia summer)
Fantastic!
I’m in the capital where we don’t have anything. Therefore I build the best roller coasters in the ACT (seriously, my LEGO coasters are sick). My nearest coaster will soon be Thredbo’s Alpine Coaster coming in 2024
That should be a nice addition.
I wish some parks here in the uk would get an orkanon clone because the only one I've done was dragon at energylandia but I loved it it was surprisingly forceful and really fun
That would be nice over there.
Nice to see some focus on a country that you really can’t say is blessed with new attractions. I’m from Perth and we really don’t have much- really only 2 permanent coasters, one is a zamperla family clone and another is very similar to saw the ride but I do hope to get out to Queensland soon because i am still yet to experience all of the main expansions in the past decade
Australia has really gotten some notable coasters in recent years that has made them more appealing.
Oh my gosh, I haven’t been to dreamworld in years!!!! I need to go there again, seems like a lot of good coasters over there
They've changed their lineup considerably.
Nice List, always look forward to a Canobie Coaster upload! Some people have ranked Leviathan higher than DC Rivals as of late, which is of course fine. In my opinion, I think the key difference is that though Leviathan’s middle section probably has better pacing, the start and end sections of DC Rivals have just as good pacing as Leviathan and the standout moments on that ride are much better than Leviathan’s. The airtime on Leviathan is floater airtime as well, on DC Rivals it’s ejector airtime. That’s just my take, what’s your opinion?
I prefer DC Rivals since it's best elements are far superior.
Yeah agreed
Lately I’ve been hearing from a number of people ranking Leviathan over DC Rivals (not just Coaster Studios), so it’s interesting to see your ranking.
Leviathan probably has stronger overall pacing, but the best elements on DC Rivals are much better than the best elements on Leviathan.
@@CanobieCoaster definitely!
Those people are fucking crazy
As someone who has ridden Jet Rescue, the ride has two solid launches, a decent dose of positive Gs on the turns, fairly good theming and a lot of laterals. The series of switchbacks are the highlight of the ride. Riders towards the front get a bit of laterals after the brakes as it doesn't slow it down in time before the turn. Its a fun extra in my opinion.
Both launches are a bit more intense than on Motorcoaster and it is far, far more comfortable and enjoyable.
Wish I could have gotten on it. Sounds like Juvelen's 2nd half.
I’ve been on the jet rescue aswell
Wild mouse at Luna Park is so good. Better than steel versions. Insane ejector airtime.
Wish it were open!
Would you like to ride Abyss, Project Zero and TNT?
I would ride them.
Warner Bros Movie World needs to get a Batman Clone
Great idea, though I would prefer a custom themed wing coaster
That would be a nice fit.
im so scared ive never been on a rollercoaster and were goin to the goldcoast next week! wish me luckk
Have fun!
In the Maurer SkyLoop in Project Zero, you then rock back and forth forwards and backwards getting some extra hangtime and weightlessness. What do you think?
A) You then rock back and forth forwards and backwards getting some extra hangtime and weightlessness. The one pro with the coaster is the stop finale.
B) You then rock back and forth forwards and backwards getting some extra hangtime and weightlessness. The one con with the coaster is the stop finale.
B
Steel Taipan, Leviathan and the Joker (dc rivals hyper coaster) definitely got to be my favorites!
All great rides!
as an aussie i can comfortably say it is SO unfortunate that you didn't get to ride the scooby doo coaster at movie world
I was disappointed it closed after we bought our flights.
Good for Mack for becoming a serious thrill coaster manufacturer. RMC, Mack, and Vekoma are the best stories for enthusiasts over the past 10 years.
All have made great rides.
What is your camera gear you use for your videos
Usually a Canon G7X
@@CanobieCoasterwitch one
The original one (no number after it).
Nice video! Have you visited asian parks already?
Mike already has visited Japan.
I've been to Japan and the UAE.
@@Rolla_CostaAso ok
@@CanobieCoasterI know that you won’t find too many coasters there, but I recommend you Southeast Asia!
@@CanobieCoaster have you been to Shanghai Disneyland?
Steel Taipan is easily my favourite
I prefer DC Rivals and Leviathan.
You need New Versions of Your Worst Roller Coasters List
I Thinking Doing One
I will make another when it changes considerably.
To the western aussies who hqve been on the abyss
Looks like a fun ride.
(6:17) In my opinion, you are over exagerating how bad the stop is. When I rode it for the first time, I was expecting a TERRIBLE gut punch, but it didn't hurt at all.
I really do not like the stop. Could be where the restraint rests on me versus others.
@@CanobieCoaster True. I'm abotu 5'10.
The ones we have in Europe are better unfortunately
Yes, but Austrlia still has some great coasters.
