Dude you seem super knowledgeable. I was surprised to see your account isnt a year old and you haven't posted in 7 months. Are you going to make more videos? I and i bet others would check it out.
Oh man. I thought the same thing. Hope the owner wasn’t too mad. But…I definitely came up once like that, Crown XR Waterloo. Kid didn’t know, he rang it up, $147…Sold!
So… here’s the thing about brewzle hunting: “ya got anything interesting or unique?” Some shops show him 10-20 unique and interesting things “nah we are being super selective” buys nothing, leaves. This shop, shown 10 interesting things, but then flips his lid (with 2 reaction clips) over a highly known bourbon because it’s highest- level tater bottle at msrp. ECBP C923 is as good. BT should never make more of their stuff I’m sure they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Kudos to Russel, the guy is great at presenting and sales stuff! The exposure that he made for the store is much more then the 60 bucks Stagg bottle that was gifted to Brewzle :)
Exposure for a SD business really means nothing. If you've never traveled to SD, then you might not realize how isolated that state is. Nothing is close to it. If you were traveling through SD that would only be a handful of good liquor stores to stop at because... well it's a state with less than a million people and the largest city is like 200k. Basically the entire state has as many people as the greater Louisville, KY area. Oddly, the population centers are on opposite sides of the state with very little in the middle portion of the state. If you are curious you can google the population density map of South Dakota. You have the Souix Falls area and the Black Hills area... and not much between.
Stagg was sitting on the shelves in TX Father's Day weekend for MSRP. Sent the wife back in to grab a second bottle. Also, grabbed a bottle of Four Roses Barrel Strength for MSRP too. It was a good weekend.
I really appreciate the honestly from the owner at Goodspirits. She's right, people need to figure out their palate before attempting to get into the allocation game. It's so easy to get frustrated early in your bourbon journey looking for allocated stuff, when there is so much good bourbon out there that's easier to find. And also so much unique stuff coming in the form of store picks that you might overlook because you're looking for Weller or Pappy or BTAC
Dear editor, I love the little cuts and meme's you put in there. The "You better count you days" Made me cackle so loudly my coworkers had to come over and watch. Keep up the good work.
local stores holding allocated stuff for their good local customers makes sense. People who travel to grab up the high demand stuff that will never/rarely come back doesn't do anything for the store
I just just started watching you over your bourbon hunting trip brewzle. But born and raised just south of Sioux Falls, and that is the South Dakota Midwest nice for you! Love Sioux Falls, love the Midwest, plenty of great people and great prices here.
Yes Brewzle, count your days. I'm Irish and Scottish and born and raised in Kentucky. That's triple dangerous. Drink more Islay whisky! Sláinte everyone.

If you like the Goose Island BCBS don't sleep on the Surly Darkness and varients. Was above the BCBS. Firestone Walker has a magnificent barrel program to. Love the videos 1 of my favorite whiskey channels. 👍
You should ABSOLUTELY do an Old Elk barrel pick. I have an Old Elk Wheated Barrel Pick that’s one of my all time favorite whiskies. I’m scared to drink it for fear of running out! Also, Knappogue Castle 12 is great entry to Irish Whisky. It’s aged in bourbon barrels and is phenomenal. I’ve seen it in several of your videos.
I live in Aberdeen, South Dakota and when I'm in Sioux Falls I try to stop by Wiliquors and Fogie's since they're very close to each other. Two really good liquor stores in South Dakota.
Been extremely fortunate to snag 2 bottles of Stagg at retail of $55 each, 22B and 23B. Totally because of a relationship I’ve been building for 2-3 years.
Seems like Russell made an error selling that bottle of Stagg for MSRP.. especially after the owner mentioned they only got ONE bottle of ER for the month. Russell seemed like an awesome dude and I hope he didn’t get into any sort of trouble selling that bottle of Stagg.
I was at Fogie’s back in July on my way back home to Indiana from a road trip to Montana. The lady that owns the place and her husband are big time in the pool cue making world. It was a really cool story she was telling me. We talked for probably 15-20 minutes and I was able to grab a JDSBBS Rye while I was there. If I lived in Sioux Falls, that would be my go to store. Went to Williquors as well while I was there but that has the big box store feel to it.
I might be biased as an Oklahoman but those Prairie stouts that were at the first place (saw them in the background around 10:26) are truly outstanding beers. Highly recommend, had no idea their distribution was wide enough to end up in South Dakota. They do tons of variations, bourbon barrel aged among many others, couldn't recommend strongly enough to people that enjoy stouts
One thing since I saw Soldier Valley bourbon in the video. As a Nebraskan, their bourbon is just okay... but their vodka is the SMOOTHEST vodka I've ever had, it's like you're drinking water. Definitely worth a try if you ever make vodka drinks. I've sampled a bunch and I've never had a better one.
Perks of doing security at a liquor store is anytime Stagg or any allocated stuff comes in I get to snag it for MSRP. Never have I paid more than MSRP for anything ranging from Stagg to Weller or Blantons.
That Tater Bait is part of the Krogman's series that is thumbing their nose at the secondary market. There was also "Dusty Hunterzzz", "Smash Bill", "Fipperzzz", "Chuggzz", "Waxx Nippzz", "Unicorn", and "Buyy Noww!"
More bourbon friendly.. Pikesville is as bourbon friendly of a rye as you can get! While still being able to legally call it a rye, It’s damn good too!
You need some Widow Jane's Decadence. They finish the whisky in old maple syrup barrels. I've been on the hunt for a bottle for over a year now after trying some a buddy had.
Would love to see TJ try some Scottish / English rye. It'd be a really interesting comparison and nothing like the malty scotch. Same for Scottish grain whiskies too.
That Goose Island Cola variant is very unique and worth a try, and the cherrywood aged one is slightly better than the normal BCBS. Keep your eyes peeled for the 2023 variants releasing on Black Friday. There is one aged 2 years in Eagle Rare barrels, one with bananas, another with several types of berries called Backyard Stout, and a few others. 6 different variants total if I'm not mistaken.

I had a bourbon night with some buddies and one of the bottles that I had was the Widow Jane applewood rye. None of us 7 guys liked it much, especially for the price.
Currently drinking a Ben Holladay soft Red Wheat store pick at 120 proof and, dare I say, it's the closest thing to Pappy I've had. I would put it up against any wheater in the 70-100 price range. Excellent nose and pour. Just purchased a bottle in St. Louis, headed back for another. Cheers.
Let’s start off with this I am not a lover of Rye anything, but ☝🏼 there’s always an exception to the rule and here’s my exception the 13th Colony Rye is one arse kicker of an exceptional rye !
That Boulder Spirits Cask Strength is out of this world! I live 20min from the distillery and each batch sells out in a day. If you can grab one you certainly should and give it a try, hell I'll buy it off your hands if you can find it.

For Boulder Spirits, you have to try their American Single Malt. I live in Louisville and watched your video and went to Shreck's where you got that Boulder bourbon and they didn't have any but they did have their single malt on clearance for 20. I've been into bourbon for almost 15 years and just got into Scotch and Irish this year. I already have about 12 bottles and am becoming a bit of a peat head but absolutely love sherry aged scotches both peated and non peated. Boulder American single malt is fantastic. Its verryy slightly peated but moderately sherry'd and is sooo good. Ive noticed you've been curious about scotch and their American single malt is like a near perfect segway from bourbon into scotch, in my opinion.
Wow a liquor establishment giving out samples of the whiskey they sell? SOLD!!! What a great idea!!!! Wait a sec, Jim Beam comes out with flavoured spirits?
Burning chair… One of my favorite MGP. Put together by Dave Phinney (I think his name is). He’s the brains behind Orin swift wines - some of my favorite grape juice. Burning chair, Lip Service and another I can’t think of are his offerings…. He also has Lil Guerro which is his premium offering of bourbon.. Love burning chair, not to sweet, apples on the nose and finishes light… perhaps a little young tasting, but I find it’s a solid pour at 50ish
