I worked for a large bottle shop in Indy about 15 years ago. One Sunday, the owner took us to Bardstown for a private tour and tasting at Buffalo Trace. They rolled five barrels into a room. We tasted and voted for our favorite two, since the owner was buying them. The winners were the two I voted for! I voted for them because they were the sweetest. A couple weeks later, the bottles came, each with a little sticker, "Bottled for Kahn's Fine Wines." The whole day was like living in a bourbon commercial, with sunlight streaming through the windows and reflecting off the dust as we held up tasting glasses.
Raj and Brian at Oak Liquor Cabinet are not only ALWAYS good guys, but the prices are the fairest in Austin. They have earned my loyalty. I drive past 4 or 5 stores and buy from Oak Liquor Cabinet every time.
That's really cool of Raj to share a bottle of allocated whiskey to the public. Personally I would never pay secondary market for a bourbon, but I get it. Great hunting.
I enjoy living vicariously through your bourbon hunts. Our state run stores never see 99% of your shelf picks. Even when they do get some highly allocated stuff, you have to put your name on a raffle list.
Great hunting! I almost always watch all the way through and I did this time because my son has been in the Austin area the last month on business. I had asked him to hunt a little, but he hadn’t yet. After watching this video, I actually called Galaxy Liquors and talked to Kareem. Super nice guy! I told him the three bottles I wanted ( the Buffalo Trace stuff is impossible to find where I’m at). He quoted me $69.99 for E.H. Taylor Small Batch, $69.99 for Eagle Rare (I know that’s still high) and $150.00 for Stagg. My son headed over to pick them up. Some of you may say I still paid too much and you’re probably right, but I can’t find these at home and if I could it would be at least twice as much. Again, super nice guy and willing to negotiate even over the phone. Thanks Kareem and thanks Brewzle!

Oak Liquor Cabinet is the best shop in Austin. Forever grateful that they’re so close. Everything at MSRP, great picks from them, samples, crazy selection and just damn good people!
Expensive but luckily the big bottles are a write off for his main business and the others are a write off for the bourbon channel. That helps a bit at least. Basically like a 30-35% refund on the bottles. Could even donate some to a charity raffle if he ends up with too much stuff for another tax advantage.

Many stores are trying to offset secondary pricing. They don’t want people making money off of their bourbons. It’s a double edged sword, if you sell under secondary, you’ll have an easier time selling and restocking. If you price above secondary, it will take longer to sell, but odds are the person buying won’t be putting it on secondary, they’ll be drinking it.
Would love to see a video trying some rums with a real rum guy, kinda like the scotch one. A few of these stores you’re in have some amazing rums. Beautiful, single cask, additive-free bottles from Independent bottlers. Kinda stuff that when rum takes off and becomes a bit more mainstream will resell on secondary for ludicrous four or five digit prices.
Well I've seen people pay more for a 10 yr van winkle... just wish I could get the relationship with a store around me to get things a little easier... I drink whatever I buy, eventually
Jesus Christ. Lot b and Old Rip 10 are NOT 800 on secondary. ORVW is like 650 and lot b is around 700. You scammed yourself Brewzle. Plus he swapped the Russell’s 13 out of the package so you paid like 500 over…
Galaxy is right next to my work. I’ve only been in there once and saw Weller 12 for $299. 😂 picked the same bottle up at Specs a couple of weeks ago for about $47. Oak Liquor Cabinet is great. Found a Benchmark Peach there for $7!!! lol!!
Covid ruined everything! It started the panic buying frenzy and now normal people can't catch a break. from cars, to watches, to booze, to ammo, retailers are money-grabbing because they can, and people keep it alive by way overpaying for what are perceived to be "luxury" items. I love ya man, but you're keeping the over-priced streak alive... Frustrating.
Some of the bottles are becoming more available. Hopefully that will mean prices will go back down a little. It’s crazy just how many people will buy bottles no intent to drink the liquor. I see it on Facebook all the time. They’ll have 30 bottles stacked on a shelf and it’s only 6 bourbons. It’s always the shit nobody can find too. I guess they think showing off that they have unopened bottles of something like Blantons Gold makes them look high status
Austin is my hometown, just moved away for work a couple years ago. Oak Liquor Cabinet is awesome - tons of great barrel picks, great owner & staff, solid prices too.

Next time you are in Texas, try Sixth Street Bourbon in Giddings, TX. They have a tasting room there. My name is James Dunn, and I work for them. Oak cabinet is in the process of buying a barrel from us!

Of course you paid full secondary you are the “Tater King” 🥔👑
Well I've seen people pay more for a 10 yr van winkle... just wish I could get the relationship with a store around me to get things a little easier... I drink whatever I buy, eventually
Jesus Christ. Lot b and Old Rip 10 are NOT 800 on secondary. ORVW is like 650 and lot b is around 700. You scammed yourself Brewzle. Plus he swapped the Russell’s 13 out of the package so you paid like 500 over…
Anything a youtuber buys can be claimed as a business purchase and written off on taxes. Yes, even including casino gambling channels
@@llamacebu216exactly, they may fool some that title, but they ain't fooling us😂
Galaxy is right next to my work.
It’s crazy just how many
people will buy bottles no intent to drink the liquor. I see it on Facebook all the time. They’ll have 30 bottles stacked on a shelf and it’s only 6 bourbons. It’s always the shit nobody can find too. I guess they think showing off that they have unopened bottles of something like Blantons Gold makes them look high status
BREWZLE!!! Do not sleep on any of the Garrison Brothers stuff! Aged in that texas heat! Balmorea, Guadalupe, Cowboy. Can’t go wrong!!!!
Austin is my hometown, just moved away for work a couple years ago. Oak Liquor Cabinet is awesome - tons of great barrel picks, great owner & staff, solid prices too.
Great video, learning more about bottles, brands, picks each time. HUGE Thanks from So. CA.
Love these hunting vids so much especially when you get talking to knowledgeable and helpful staff or owners, such a cool vibe, cheers TJ
Brewzle your the man at finding bourbon my man we appreciate the consistent content and am so happy for yall about the fast growth of your channel iv learned alot from you well deserved success.
You skipped right past a Rebecca’s Creek in the first store next to the Cigar Blend! And that was a solid price on the Russell’s Single Rickhouse beaches I believe they are $300 msrp.
That fortaleza is gas!! Best tequila hands down haven’t even opened my bottle saving it for right time!!
Next time you are in Texas, try Sixth Street Bourbon in Giddings, TX. They have a tasting room there. My name is James Dunn, and I work for them. Oak cabinet is in the process of buying a barrel from us!
still working there James? I work nearby and would love to come through
Great video. If you ever come across some of the redwood cask strength bottles, do the damn thing. Got the hookup from you, so I hope you have some.
AWESOME! I live in austin and i only knew 1 of all of those liquor store! Great content!
You’ve got to pick up one of those Redbreast Kentucky blends (the blue box); I’ve had the 12yr, 15yr, Lustau, Cask Strength, and the Kentucky. It’s easily a top 3 for me
The secondary prcing is no joke! I live in Austin and didn't know about a lot of these places so you gave me some new places to hunt. Especially for some Weller SR
Long time watcher, first time commentor...the video of the Antique 107 going into a lawn mower brought and kept me here.
This is why I’m glad I live in Kentucky. Living within a few miles of multiple distilleries for 20 years provides some unique opportunities that you don’t normally get.. and knowing people who have worked for these companies that have the in with the right guy is always helpful. lol
BottleKill!
I'm not a bourbon or whiskey guy to the extent that you and likely many of your followers are, but I've been drawn to your vids for over a year now and feel I'm slowly learning things.
Imma keep lurking and learning 😊
Man, i just gotta say, your videos bring me comfort. I dunno why, but i binge watched like 20 of them, and i dont even drink! You are just nice and kind fella, and i love it. Thanks again and much love from another continent.
Great video! OLC is one of the best stores in all of Texas. You did miss out passing on the RR single rickhouse as it is worth it over the 13 and a hidden gem is the Rebecca Creek 16yr. Fantastic 16yr MGP single barrel.
You will enjoy that Sam Utopias. Enjoy and store at room temp. You can even reseal and save what you don't drink for a later time. Cheers!
Moon dance in round rock off red bud has an absolutely amazing selection. If your still in town its a must!! Russell 13 ,all wellers, so much!!
LOVE Old Grand-dad Bonded. We can get it here in Daytona all the time on the shelf - average price is 24 - Last bottle I got was 17.00
That Old Forester Single Barrel pick from the beginning (1:19) is from the same warehouse and floor as 2023 Birthday Bourbon!
Single rickhouse is fantastic. I have the first release, and it's an amazing bottle.
I've got a Lot B if you need one. Happy to work a trade. Say a couple of antiques and a couple EH small batch. Good deal if you can get those at msrp.
You should have snapped up one of those Still Austin cask strength bourbons. And before you say you don't like Texas whiskey, it's like no other Texas whiskey.
I found this in my feed and really enjoyed it. I’m new to whiskey & bourbon. I’ve tried a handful of the basics: Knob, Makers, Woodford, and some others. I’m 53 and want to expand my appreciation. Can I get a couple recommendations in the $40-60 range?
Oak Cabinet is the best store in Austin Area. Prices are reasonable and always a great selection. They always have 3 of my favorites Blue Note Uncut, Bardstown Origin Series wheated and straight bourbon! Always. I have yet to walk in an not find those 3. THE BEST STORE!!!!
Great video, this one. Makes me want to drive three hours just to load up on Weller and Blantons. Blantons is still impossible to find around DFW.
Bottle kill 🔫🔫 My first love was beer and now a bourbon enthusiast thank to you. It warms my heart you enjoy the Goose Island BA stouts, such a great combo. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
The Austin shaker is my local store! Cool to see it here. Although I’m more of a cocktail guy than a whiskey hunting guy - I just enjoy your videos. Cheers!
Crazy!! Every store you go in you see wellers and buff trace. In nc you can't find the stuff I feel like they don't sell that stuff to us . Only thing is the cream .
Man you missed out! The first shop in the cigar room right next to the Magnus, that Rebecca's Creek Spanish double oaked is so delicious
I last picked up the 1.75L Weller SR for $49....yep, glad I did!
Bottle kill! I get it on the van winkle....it's for an even and you "need" it. We do stupid stuff all the time. I just picked up a weller 107 a couple weeks ago for 120.
If/when you make it to Southern California, you have to check out Hollymain Liquors in El Segundo and talk to Jimmy. I was in town for a funeral over the weekend and went 3 times to take multiple family members. They have a great selection of hard to find bottles. RHF, Old Fitz, all of the Wellers, Multiple Pappys, and many many more.
Even though it's just redistilled in VA, there's a month in VA where all VA made liquor is discounted so Bowman Bros and the port barrel Bowman are both 30 dollars.
goin for the rickhouse out in delaware they try to sell that for 600 and the russels 13 they sell at 400-500, but that mini weller i would buy to never seen a 375 weller sr. the new one is OF 1924 so cant wait to get my hands on it. Sad part is the vender price is 90 bucks for the 10 year and the 12 year. The OF King Ranch is amazing one of my favorites...Always love watching your videos
The guys at Oak Liquor Cabinet are top class and their picks are great.
Utopias is delicious. DO NOT do it cold... pour like a bourbon, neat and room temp. Loads of fig, raisin and yumminess. Cheers...
Fortaleza Blanco is my favorite sipper . Very true to the Agave. As he mention tho it's kinda hard to find .
Thanks brewzle…3 months ago I wasn’t much of a drinker and just smoked lotsa weed lol now I’m damn near as deep in whiskey(mostly bourbon) as I am in the green 😂 I also am not a fan of scotch but you need to try Aberlour speyside 12yr…it’s pretty damn amazing!
I cannot believe you passed on that Smoke Wagon with the purple wax at the last store!!!!!!!! That is a store pick, and it was a Rye! Brandon should have snatched that one up! It was so darn good!
Oak Liquor Cabinet is my favorite place in Austin. They are good people and always have good store picks available for a decent price.
Im not mad at the pappy prices because they are 2x higher here. On another note i secured a 2023 GTS for msrp on monday so were starting 2024 off right. Best advice to everyone new to the game “build relationships with store owners over small bottles and barrel picks. Buying store picks has given me my whole allocated collection.”
Brewzle you are the man!! Anytime you drop a video I gotta watch it asap.. in your opinion what is the best bourbon under $200 that is somewhat easily attainable?
What I've learned with Sam Adams Utopias is that you should approach it from a port prospective as supposed to beer. Because it's no beer I've ever had.
If you haven’t already had it, I think the yellow label Wilderness Trail. Pretty sure I saw it peek its tail out at South Lamar
As a new subscriber to your channel, I'm a Scotch man at heart with very little interest in Bourbons, however after watching your videos I'm definitely going to try some of your recommendations, love the passion and the content, great work sir!
Thanks for watching! Converting scotch drinkers, one video at a time. 😉
