      Ahhh pleeease don't be discouraged by that! Don't compare yourself to me. Of course over the years my self-criticism has increased a lot, because my level has become higher over time. Just keep doing your thing and try to find out what makes a photo good for you. Because what I find good in a photo is not necessarily the same to what you appreciate in a photo. :))

    I know I'm a bit late to the party here but hugely enjoyed this video! The chill vibes, hearing your thoughts on your creative workflow, and of course beautiful pictures! What's not to love! I also agree with a lot of your creative judgements. The minimalistic plant photo was absolutely the most compelling image of the evening I would say, and some of the others were nice but as you said not quite capturing in that way we chase as photographers. If you don't like the colours in a photo try editing it in black & white instead, I have found this works quite well with bland looking colour photos because in black & white you can really push the contrast as well as the shadows & blacks to make very dynamic images out of what would otherwise have been an average/boring image.

    • @ValerieOpdam
      @ValerieOpdam 4 года назад +1

      Teo Crawford thankyou for your response ! Sorry if My question was a bit weird (im dutch 🙈) I mean in what mode do you shoot? Like just manual or? If i play with the dials (?) (the round things on the camera haha) i do see settings changing but don’t really understand what I’m changing.. i dont really know what is best to shoot in and which mode..

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  4 года назад +2

      Ohhh ok ok, no problem! :D
      I always shoot in manual mode to have full control of the camera. Except for the White Balance - I'm too lazy to set that manually all the time, so I keep it to Automatic and just change it in the editing process. Concerning the settings - that highly depends on the light in your situation and what you are shooting. There are many tutorials here on YT, which explain how to expose an image manually by balancing the settings. Just watch a few of those and you'll understand it soon :))

I get an annoying greenish, reflective flare at the bottom of my frame and as I move the camera it moves with the camera. It is difficult to explain without being able to send a photo/video. @@teocrawford My first camera was a Sony Nex 6 then I got a Sony a6000. With the GX85 you get a good evf, which for me helps with being more engaged in taking a photo vs just looking at the screen. And you also get image stabilization with the GX85 if you're into video or using old manual lenses it helps a lot. I'm actually thinking of picking up a GX85 good luck on your first camera choice bro I think the GX85 will be a good starter with room to grow.

    I'm a fan watching from Ghana.
    I love your content and I've been shooting videos and photos with the little GX80 for some time.
    I'd like to throw you a video challenge with the GX80.
    There's a lot of boredom around for months now and what better way to kill boredom than have a video challenge?
    If it's something you'll agree to, let know so we talk it through.

      So I don't have a dedicated audio recorder. Therefore I use my camera. I've got the small "Rode VideoMicro" for my camera and simply record video when making a voice over. Then in Premiere I just use the audio of the file and do some decent post-processing on the audio to get the best possible result from that crappy setup :D
