The fact that you guys reacted to that movie is awesome, and the fact that you guys let yourselves get emotional in camera is even more awesome I really want you guys watching the sequel
So there’s an animated prequel called “Seoul Station” and that was amazing, and then the sequel “Peninsula” wasn’t the greatest but it had some great action so i’d still say give it a watch even if it’s on your own time. Speaking of political themes in Korean movies, a lot have to do with the class differences that the Korean society goes through, have a couple friends out there and if you think the difference in the rich vs the poor in America is bad WOOF is it something else out there, Parasite is a great example of the class difference explanation in Korean films
this movie will always break my heart, that one fucking guy who dragged everybody down to save himself actually infuriated me. when he threw the high school girl, i had never been more angry, i remember being so upset that the high school couple didn’t make it because there was no reason for them not to.
5:20 This conversation made me think: Isn't there Children's Day in other countries? I'm from Brazil, and here Children's Day is celebrated on October 12th along with Our Lady of Aparecida Day. I had never thought if this holiday existed in the United States.
Can confirm: YES DEER WILL HIT YOU. I had this happen to me as well in the mountains where I'm from in California 😂 shattered my window then trotted off. Deer are evil. City people have no clue.
I never fail to cry at the end of this movie when the father dies. Best zombie movie ever made. 🥰 That place with the wrecked train wasn't actually Busan (which I think you may have figured out by the time the train actually stopped?). As the conductor said he was going to have to find another train in order to get them to Busan. The conductor also said that if he found a working train, he would pull it onto the left track. He wasn't leaving them behind. he was doing what he said and hoping others would follow.
I watched this movie a couple years ago during a heavy thunderstorm and it was one of the best experiences. It just fit together for some reason. Added to the stress.
the discussion of the population size of south korea being a concern during an apocalypse made me realise that as an australian I’m actually so mfing safe- there’s 25 million people in 7.6 million km2 of land if you don’t know what to compare that to, the US is 331 million people in 9.1 million km2
@utkarshsharma2433 veryyy unlucky I suppose lol. everyone living in a highly populated area or on the larger continents would have a lot of problems in a zombie situation- they’d be coming from all angles. kinda hard to escape 😭
"Train to Busan" delves into themes of classism, mob mentality, and the triumph of compassion over self-serving ego. The core group in the story is comprised of individuals who actively contribute to the well-being of the collective, in contrast to the self-centered COO businessman. Su-an represents innocence, Seok-woo transforms from an absentee father to a caregiver, Sang-hwa, a soon-to-be father, emerges as an inspiring team leader. Seong-keong, the pregnant wife, shields the group from zombies and assumes a leadership role among the tail group. Kevin (from "Parasite") embraces his girlfriend's affection and fights to reunite with her. Jin-hee, his girlfriend, offers hope for survival. The sacrifices of the elderly sisters temporarily safeguard the central leading group. Lastly, the homeless man proves to be an asset. He warns others about the undead, rescues the protagonist, and, as an unsung hero, sacrifices his life to save a pregnant woman and a child.
I haven’t seen it but I heard that Peninsula wasn’t very good. There is an animated prequel to this movie though called Seoul Station. If you want some other great Korean zombie stuff, I’d really recommend watching the show Kingdom! Imagine political machinations amidst a zombie outbreak in Joseon (1500s what is now Korea). There are 2 seasons with 6 episodes each and a prequel movie called Kingdom Ashin of the North
*Mild Spoilers for sequel of train to Busan* I really didn't like the sequel. It wasn't like it was a terrible movie I still had a kind of fun time. It was more guns and action that American movies have with some Americans in it(because If there is a zombie apocalypse that happens somewhere in the world basically the whole world is gonna find out eventually). Also no returning characters. which IMO kinda sucks because there is a lot of possibility with the remaining characters if they were older + some new characters and at least continuing the story in that way. There are some characters in the current movie we have that if done right could easily be changed to the child and the lady and the baby + new or the same characters as currently. But I've never heard of Kingdom so I will check that out!
I’ve watched this movie like 3 times, so when this came on my fyp I was fairly confident I could get through the whole thing without crying, yeah I failed. This is my 4th watch now and I’ve cried like a baby every single time. Honestly this is my favorite zombie movie of all time.
A lot of Korean movies in general are really dark and rarely have happy stories or endings. My favorite is ‘I Saw the Devil’, one of my favorite movies of all time actually, that I highly recommend! Also the animated prequel for this movie Seoul Station is really good!
10:18 if it's the same in my city, it's not that surprising that that man did not stop the woman from getting on the train. they're not really security personnel who are meant to stop suspicious-looking people from getting on, instead they're meant to help passengers get on and check to make sure that the train is safe to leave. when he saw the woman running towards him, he must've just thought it was a passenger who got some wounds tripping while rushing to catch the train and just let her on expecting the train attendants to take care of her during the ride.
Train to Busan is in my top 3 favorite movies. I'm glad you reacted to it. I personally didn't mind the sequel. Sadly, it's not as good as this. It just takes place in the same world, but it's its own movie. Also the Netflix Show "All Of Us Are Dead" draws a lot of inspiration from this, and I believe if you want more like Train to Busan, I recommend the show before the sequel movie.
I love train to busan. its a movie that when watching the action scenes look sick and when there was the lull where there were no action scenes, you're on the edge of your seats in crazy anticipation of what's about to happen
You should watch All of Us Are Dead, a Korean zombie show that takes place in a school, instead of a train. It is newer and was a big hit when it came out.
What the hell? Have you ever seen the back of the man in the blue suit clearly after taking off his suit jacket? You can tell he is a muscular man at a glance.
Why I just pull over when I clock one. Those things are like vehicle homing missiles that break physics. I've never personally had a bad brush but know enough people who have.
19:19 'that bitch' is a mistranslation, grandma wasn't being petty by calling her daughter in law (or Soo-an) a bitch, it was such a bad translation job as s it follows the flow of what she's been saying how Soo-an only looks for her mom, etc., what she actually said was 'Rotten Bastards' to the zombies around her, probably as she was being attacked by them-
This isn't "one of the better zombie movies of the last ten years." This is one of the best zombie movies of the entire history of the genre! (Yeah, I know I commented several months ago, too, but I'm going through old reactions because I can't remember which ones I've seen, lol)
if I'm not mistaken (I read somewhere), I think the director's original idea was for the old m$#cker to be the only survivor. (in fact, very smart commentary about society, how the most ruthless always get their way etc) but producers or test audience were SO mad about it that director had to change the end. Imagine that - I know I would have screamed at the movie if the director had decided to go in that direction...
KINGDOM is another good zombie korean drama. It only has 6 eps in S1 and another 6 in S2 then a somewhat stand-alone movie. Another unique zombies you'll encounter.
Please chek out the k-drama Kingdom. It takes place in the 1600's and its about a prince trying to fond out whats happening to his father, the empror, while fighting accusations from his stepmom who wants her own son on the throne. Sense its in the 1600's theirs not alot of weapons to kill zombies.
Train to Busan 2 doesn't exist just like how Pacific Rim 2 doesn't exist. We wish there was another movie for both :/ About your take about "What the politics behind this movie", to answer the question I refer to the sinking of the Korean cruise ship Sewol and how it was grossly mishandled by the government and the company. The antagonist in this movie that everyone hates that kills everyone off represents the Sewol's greedy corporation that didnt follow safety regulations that heavily contributed to the ship listing. The government essentially covered up and/or suppressed the media concerning the status of the sinking ship similar to the government in this movie telling everyone that everything is ok. The main character represents your everyday (Korean) guy. Working hard everyday for extended hours to essentially be successful in life. He starts off cut throat because well in Korea it very much is cut throat (tbf this is everywhere in the world though) but slowly regains his humanity representing your average person. Again, we all wish there was a Train to Busan 2. It doesn't exist. Trust me, don't watch that other "Train to Busan 2" movie. Again it doesn't exist, it's not cannon. Move along. Nothing to see here.
That jerkoff dude is sadly how most people would probably be. Out to save their own skin which ironically sealed his fate in the end. Pennisula is cool. Not nearly as good I would say but worth the watch.

I love this movie. There’s not many that can get me to cry but this is definitely one of them. My favorite Zombie movie as well. That kid knows how to act and pull on your heartstrings.
The fact that you guys reacted to that movie is awesome, and the fact that you guys let yourselves get emotional in camera is even more awesome
I really want you guys watching the sequel
Ngl, I cried several times the first time I watched this movie, and it still tears me up, especially when those lovebirds turn...
I mean...the writers and actor HAVE to be commended for how absolutely horrid that character is
5:20 This conversation made me think: Isn't there Children's Day in other countries?
I'm from Brazil, and here Children's Day is celebrated on October 12th along with Our Lady of Aparecida Day. I had never thought if this holiday existed in the United States.
its 14th of November in India, on birthday of our first prime minister after independence.
That place with the wrecked train wasn't actually Busan (which I think you may have figured out by the time the train actually stopped?).
Added to the stress.
the discussion of the population size of south korea being a concern during an apocalypse made me realise that as an australian I’m actually so mfing safe- there’s 25 million people in 7.6 million km2 of land
if you don’t know what to compare that to, the US is 331 million people in 9.1 million km2
hmm, so what do you think about India 🤣🤣
@utkarshsharma2433 veryyy unlucky I suppose lol. everyone living in a highly populated area or on the larger continents would have a lot of problems in a zombie situation- they’d be coming from all angles. kinda hard to escape 😭
@@seesawseesaw yeah best decision is to steal a boat with some supplies and go to any island, we can come back for more supplies later.
Internet: MAN DONT CRY.
Me after watching lil girl and dad scene: FCK IT, IM CYING RIGHHT NOW.
They should watch Seoul Station. It's the prequel to Train to Busan! It's also animated!
I concur! Also I love your cute pfp!
Seoul Station was surprisingly dark 😅
That's not the sequel to Train to Busan it's just an animated movie connected to the series the sequel is called "Peninsula" .
Expected zombies......got emotions
The one movie that can make three grown ass men cry,,,made me cry for three days straight when I saw it for the first time.

*Mild Spoilers for sequel of train to Busan*
I really didn't like the sequel.
I highly recommend kingdom such an underrated korean zombie series and its in a period setting
Glad the daughter and pregnant lady lived, mad that both fathers died, and the random crazy guy too 😤
I think he's just a traumatized homeless man
I love that you guys all cried at the end. Never underestimate how sexy that makes a guy look.
Fuck yes. Watched this after i saw squid game. This is a wonderful zombie movie, up there with WWZ
Me too! In fact it also got me into kdramas. Gong Yoo(the dad) also had something to do with it 😂
I love train to busan. its a movie that when watching the action scenes look sick and when there was the lull where there were no action scenes, you're on the edge of your seats in crazy anticipation of what's about to happen
Kingdom and All of Us Are Dead are must watch!!😬🙏
You should watch All of Us Are Dead, a Korean zombie show that takes place in a school, instead of a train. It is newer and was a big hit when it came out.
The "baseball kid" is actually the main lead in the Oscar winner kmovie parasite
Phenomenal movie!! My third favorite horror movie, and the only one to regularly make me cry
If you like these zombies and this movie, you might want to check out the series All Of Us Are Dead.
And also Kingdom
Hot take: Don Lee for live action Jimbei
omg yea!!
Ohh I can def see him as Jimbei👍🏻 and I always imagined another great South Korean actor named Ha Jung Woo as Crocodile
no matter how many times you watch this movie the emotions remain the same .... I always happen to cry my eyes out every time I watch this movie😭😭😭😭😭😭
What the hell? Have you ever seen the back of the man in the blue suit clearly after taking off his suit jacket? You can tell he is a muscular man at a glance.
The first and only movie I ever cried to, and not only that, but every time I watch I still cry anyways
Deer and elk in the country are built different. My dad had an elk T-bone him too lol
Why I just pull over when I clock one. Those things are like vehicle homing missiles that break physics. I've never personally had a bad brush but know enough people who have.
19:19 'that bitch' is a mistranslation, grandma wasn't being petty by calling her daughter in law (or Soo-an) a bitch, it was such a bad translation job as s it follows the flow of what she's been saying how Soo-an only looks for her mom, etc., what she actually said was 'Rotten Bastards' to the zombies around her, probably as she was being attacked by them-
He's in Eternals, but also The Royal Tailor, which is well worth a watch. :)
This isn't "one of the better zombie movies of the last ten years." This is one of the best zombie movies of the entire history of the genre! (Yeah, I know I commented several months ago, too, but I'm going through old reactions because I can't remember which ones I've seen, lol)
The Zombie actors put their all into the role my favorite thing of the movie.
Exactly
if I'm not mistaken (I read somewhere), I think the director's original idea was for the old m$#cker to be the only survivor. (in fact, very smart commentary about society, how the most ruthless always get their way etc) but producers or test audience were SO mad about it that director had to change the end. Imagine that - I know I would have screamed at the movie if the director had decided to go in that direction...
One thing I will praise Korean zombie movies for is that they generally go really physical with zombies.
Your reactions were so honest, because I also cried real hard everytime I see this heartbreaking scene 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
KINGDOM is another good zombie korean drama. It only has 6 eps in S1 and another 6 in S2 then a somewhat stand-alone movie. Another unique zombies you'll encounter.
I loved ''Kingdom'' much more than ''All of us are dead''!!!
Bitch I have never clicked so fast in my life lets fucking GOOOO! I love this movie!!
Never have I ever cried on a zombie movie until this came out geeze
This movie is such a rare genre: Tearjerker Horror!
Most K-movies are tearjerker+(regular genre) format..
Train to Busan 2 doesn't exist just like how Pacific Rim 2 doesn't exist. We wish there was another movie for both :/
About your take about "What the politics behind this movie", to answer the question I refer to the sinking of the Korean cruise ship Sewol and how it was grossly mishandled by the government and the company.
That's the best child actor/actress I've seen in a long while.
Ma dong seok (don lee) is legitimately a really good tough guy. Hope he gets more roles.
He's in a lot of great Korean movies. The Flu, Champion, The Cop, The Gangster and The Devil (?) I might be flubbing the titles but yeah he's getting recognizable now under this name or Don Lee internationally.
I saw him in (The) Eternals. His character was the best.
Oh gosh i have watched this movie like thousand times now. Including yalls reaction. I was laughing and smiling while watching this reaction but i still got heartbroken again. 💔 i freaking cried at the end. Oh gosh this movie will NEVER ever get old. Best masterpiece to ever exist. 😭
I just looked it up and it sounds like it's the movie peninsula and the synopsis says it was made 4 years after the events in train to Busan.
Gadamnit you made me cry in my classroom, didnt know it still hits me like a truck.
I literally cryed while watching you guys react to it, thats how deep I ahve this movie in my heart, to me, this is the BEST zombie movie, hands down. Peninsula is more action packed, mor of a thriller in the sense of "welp, the apocalypse happened, what know?" in a different place, with a different cast.
Korea has a TON of great movies to check out like this (I mean, Oldboy STILL breaks me and elevates me unwillingly, so yes, yes yes, yes, yes.
Also I love the actor who played the asshole in the movie, he speaks of it with such a genuine smile like "I'm glad you hate him because I do to", a treasure.
"This deer's an L"
Deer: *_Pardon?_*
*Am I the only one currently still seeing reactions to this wonderful movie??*
_Shit! I love it!!_ ❤️💜🔥
no, you're not! hahah
I'm still watching reactions for this movie
Damn you! This movie is so good and the only one that has me sobbing at the end. I didn't know there was a sequel.
please consider reacting to all of us are dead as well! i feel like youd enjoy that zombie series as well
great reaction as always, keep it up you guys are awesome
For insurance purposes, always say the deer ran into you!
10:30 Yeah, he's waiting for any last minute people who want to get on.
I'll say it here since no one is mentioning the 2nd movie it's Peninsula
I agree with everyone else, All of Us Are Dead would be a better follow up to watch.
And also Kingdom
the final scene made every one cry as the bgm hits the good 🥲
One of the things i love about this film, is the improv of the weapons, since only 2 percent of the population has weapons like guns,if I remember correctly, please correctly if I'm wrong.😊
Guys i just love watching your reactions, you have awesome Vibe.
I like the movies that are more realistic in a turn... People don't get full zombie makeup 5 seconds after a bite.
If I really had to be pressed... I prefer our comedies over our "horror" when it comes to zombies. But this movie was awesome. 28 Days Later level of awesome acting from the zed crew.
Well, they certainly turn faster went their neck gets eaten multiple times.
@@Pomni3477 I meant they did a really good job in this. Sorry... that's my b. I can see how that wasn't clear.
I meant movies like this vs one where someone gets bit, looks away, looks back, and has turned full on zombie, decay and all.
This movie was great. It's probably the best straight up Zombie movie imo.
Yes. American fast food in Korea are 1000 times better than the native (to American) versions.
10:30 glad you brought that up cause a lot of reactors miss that!
Im a cold blooded type but this movie hit me hard
dayum. Just love your reaction, glad you guys came across this movie. the last scene always hit hard
This movie had me fucked up when I first watched it, and the same again watching yall react
Another crazy korean movies you want? Then choose one between 'exit(2019)' and 'the wailing(2016)'
Seeing how you guys enjoyed this, i think you would love All of Us are Dead. It is a korean drama revolving around a zombie apocalypse as well, but this time the characters are high school teens. An absolutely awesome show, and they've also just announced season 2
In my opinion, this is the best zombie film that drains emotions and tears 😢
One of the best zombie movies IN THE WORLD, no cap. Loved your reactions!
31:32 that is not a bullet train, it was just an ordinary light railway. I don't think they can get inside a running bullet train in that one scene.
Glad you reacted to Train to Busan, went to subscribe after this
"sweetheart mommy is probably dead." 😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂 so harsh but that's reality
Some other movies you might want to watch; “Dog Soldiers”, “The Girl With All the Gifts”, “Howl”(a passenger train with a werewolf stuck inside), “Crawl space” (from the 80’s), “Ther’s Something Wrong with the Children”,
When I lived in Seoul their KFC was better than in Ohio.
Burger King for sure is ten times better in South Korea than in America. 😂😂 I don’t even like Burger King but I ate it more than once in Korea. So good.
