Enough with these cringe comments. Men have always been able to be vulnerable. Who the hell would not get emotional with a daughter crying for her dad like that? Maybe someone without a soul, has nothing to do with gender.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 wtf are u even on? No one said it had anything to do with gender but let’s not act like men haven’t created a patriarchy and society where a man crying is seen as weak no matter the circumstances and that gets taught a to their sons and even their daughters to where some women think a man crying is weak. So I see why the person commented what they did. Stop being an ass for literally no reason
@@nostalgicbliss5547 I think that was not the point of the original comment. You see, men generally have a hard time crying and showing emotional vulnerability as it is not acceptable in many cultures and we are generally told to man up when we cry or show sadness, so it, in a wierd way, good to see two grown men to openly cry when presented with such a good scene. Apologies for my bad English.
Glad you guys finally watched this! I’m adding another vote for the fantastic “Kingdom” series next, if only to give us the pleasure of seeing your reactions for those 12+1 episodes! :)
That is why this is arguably the best zombie movie of all time! You get so many emotions not just out of these characters but as well as yourself through out the film. Very well made and tears me up everytime I watch it
He also did 2 other movies that released this year (2016) and all of them had him riding trains lol (A Man and a Woman & Age of Shadows) so yep - the dude likes trains lol
You guys should react to Kingdom on Netflix, it's a zombie series set in the Korean medieval period. There's already 2 seasons and a movie, with a 3rd season coming out soon. 🙏🏼
41:51 I'm glad they didn't show any flashback for most of the characters. It just shows how great the writing is since we were still able to understand their personalities through their actions and dialogue.
It's very common in Korean film industry that if a minor character is played by a huge star, you just know that the director has plans for that "minor character". In Squid Game, Gong Yoo and Lee Byunghun (Front Man) are two of South Korean A-list actors so you can expect them playing bigger roles in Season 2!
Went into this movie expecting a zombie movie, with cool or gruesome zombie kills, but came out the other end crying like a baby. Never have I ever loved such an emotional movie before.
This is probably one of the only movies I can watch without subtitles and still know what's happening just by the amazing acting of the people who they cast in these roles. Like damn, no other movie I've seen this year has made me feel like this one has, and no other zombie movie really seems to capture this same feeling, and I love it!
I remember someone commented roughly like in a situation where everyone is trying to survive there will always be a person who would act like the businessman who would use other people to survive. And every time I watch this movie I can’t get that out of my head.
@@octaviablackthorn9 Its a zombie film realism went out of the window day 1 of writing the script. Just made the whole film feel a waste of time for me. If it was a film based in real life circumstances i get realistic ending sometimes sure, this did not work thou.
man, watching this reaction is a double edged sword, I've cried ENOUGH at this movie dang it! LOL fun fact! When Su-an speaks to her dad in the beginning of the movie, she uses formal speech, but when she speaks with her mom, she uses informal speech. So to korean-speakers this shows even MORE of a contrast between her relationship with both parents. But by the end, Su-an uses informal speech to her dad too, making the ending even more heart breaking T_T
My daughter calls me "Appa" and screams like that when I leave for university or work. Makes it hard to leave but I can't imagine being in the fathers circumstance at the end. Her cry just hits different now that I'm a father.
34:00 I heard they actually told her the movie ends with her, the pregnant woman, AND her movie dad. It was only before shooting they revealed the dad doesn't actually make it
MOst of South Korean actors performs like this. Thats why i really love KOrean dramas and movies. Because its like natural for them to act. Watch Miracle in Cell no. 7 and you will cry a lot.
Goddamn this movie floored me too. The heroic sacrifices had me teary eyed. That little girls reactions got me bawling. And the ending song she sings is “Aloha O’e” and being from Hawai’i, it hit home literally and it’s used to as a send off song for loved ones who passed away. Definitely perfectly used and it’s such a heavy and beautiful movie!
One of the most affected films I've ever witnesse, that ending with the father always gets me, especially from the talented performances the young girl portrayed. Definitely one of best Zombies films, a true masterpiece.
This movie hits me everytime I watch it! Best zombie movie ever! It's actually more on human emotion, Gong yo would have definitely turned into that villain guy character who always thinks about himself, but what an arc for him!
Just a minor note: the contact name of his ex-wife in his phone did not say “ex-wife.” It actually said “Suan’s mom.” Idk why they didnt just write the right translation. There’s nothing difficult to understand about “Suan’s mom,” since the audience knows they are divorced already since the beginning of the movie.
Fun fact: Don Lee who plays Sang-hwa IS the person cast to play Gilgamesh in the Eternals! I really like his character in the movie (might be my favorite) so im excited to see him in Eternals

this is my absolute favorite zombie movie because it epitomizes what zombie movies are all about: the human condition in survival situations. you are so immediately connected to these characters that even the two older sisters, when they are in danger, you feel anxiety even though we don't spend that much time with them. and yes, Su-An's actress is a beast lol when she cries, I cry.
Finally I've been waiting for this reaction. My favorite zombie film of all time. So much heart and emotion done right. The father learns so much messages. Its not abot yourself. But its about everyone when your and theirs life is on the line.
This is one of my favorite zombie movies ever. The kid actress did such a great job, I always cry at that scene when her dad leaves her on the train. And I'm such a big fan of Gong Yoo!

"WHO IS THIS GUY!? HE'S AMAZING!!!" Greg channeling everybody's reaction towards the MVP in the blue shirt xD. He's no contest the best character in the movie.
As many mentioned before Gong Yoo is a versatile actor. His acting here is compared to Jimmy Stewart but the actor is not afraid to do comedic roles. Some of the other series he's done are ridiculously funny and heartbreaking at the same time.
15 minutes into your reaction. I had to pause and watch the whole movie. Now I'm back and I'm telling you... I am a massive fan of Korean media. From squid game, to Train to Busan to Kingdom... they really know how to make good TV
I like how I’ve seen people reacting to squid game saying “It’s the guy from train to busan “ But you guys are watching Train to busan and said “It’s the guy from squid game” 🤣🤣🤣
The time it takes to turn into a zombie depends on where the bite is. If the person is bitten on the neck, it takes almost no time to turn into a zombie. But if the bite is located on the hand, it takes much longer to turn.
I think it's wonderfully done how we learn as much as one train ride could teach us about someone. and well in danger chit chatting is turned to a minimum, but I found it charming how they felt like real people who were heading somewhere and we only heard their surface thoughts.
That girl is probably the best child actor i've seen in my life (all the cast i so talented btw). Koreans are so good in what they do, thats why i enjoy them so much, music, filmmaking, books, you name it.
I absolutely love that there's very little hand holding in this. And the subversion of tropes was brilliant. Our main character isn't the one saving everyone. He's actually kind of a shitty person. And there's no "have to find the cure!" subplot
Also HIGHLY recommend “I saw the Devil,” starring Choi Min-Sik (Old Boy) and Lee Byung-Hun (G.I.JOE, Terminator Genesys, Magnificent 7, Red2) who also plays the “Frontman” with that face shaped dark grey mask. Its basically Tom and Jerry, or rather Itchy and Scratchy, just with real humans. One being a psycho serial killer and another one being a NIS-agent (=CIA in the states) who has completely lost his mind, and is just extremely pissed off at the psycho. And Vice versa.
I watched this movie after watching Parasite because I was drawn to Korean movies and was thrilled how fast it got into the action. It was just non-stop and so good! IF you haven't seen it, you need to watch Alive as well. It's another Korean zombie movie.

If you're planning to watch Peninsula, it's more like a different story/movie than a sequel to Train to Busan imo (so don't expect to see some familiar faces xd)
When I watched Peninsula in the theater, I was very disappointed. I don't know what happened. The sequel is written and directed by the same director of Train to Busan. If Train to Busan is 10/10, Peninsular is only 5/10 for me.
@@winingz i think it went bad bc it was solely made to satisfy the demand of the public instead of making it for the art of filmmaking itself. I was very disappointed with it too.
Thinking about this some more, another brilliant thing about this movie is the pace. It's not rushed, and the 'speed' varies, but it's ALWAYS moving and I was never even slightly bored.
That "worst character" is actually my favorite character. Him and the main character are the only ones I'm interested in and I love how both are basically the same, except one changes.

@@rigged4351 Your English was good. Good points
It’s the best. I’m so glad Parasite and Squid Game is really bringing Korean cinema more into the conversation amongst Western audiences ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glad you guys finally watched this! I’m adding another vote for the fantastic “Kingdom” series next, if only to give us the pleasure of seeing your reactions for those 12+1 episodes! :)
Yes yes yes
yes
Yeah Kingdom is dope
Oh yeaaaah!!!
That is why this is arguably the best zombie movie of all time! You get so many emotions not just out of these characters but as well as yourself through out the film. Very well made and tears me up everytime I watch it
Definitely
Indeed.😟
I'm starting to think Gong Yoo likes trains.
Oh god I just finished watching Squid game 2 weeks ago 💀
this comment made me LOL
Hahaha no doubt he likes it so much 🤣😂🤣
Hasha now in squid game in Tain again
He also did 2 other movies that released this year (2016) and all of them had him riding trains lol (A Man and a Woman & Age of Shadows) so yep - the dude likes trains lol
Poor Greg looked completely stressed, while John was basically laughing through anxiety of it all. Definitely understandable!
No movie has ever made me cry like this one. It just hits me in a different way. The little girl really breaks my heart.
You guys should react to Kingdom on Netflix, it's a zombie series set in the Korean medieval period. There's already 2 seasons and a movie, with a 3rd season coming out soon. 🙏🏼
Same
YES they should. Arguably the best Zombie television show ever made, in my opinion.
Them Koreans man, they KNOW how to make zombie material lol
Yes absolutely 👌 was thinking the same. That's one top series
FUCKING LOVE KINGDOM 😭
Omg hell yeah!
genuinely the best zombie movie ever made. impossible to watch without crying my eyes out. it's literal perfection, especially in character writing.
I legit cried again.....after so many reactions to this movie... that girl deserves an Oscar for that
41:51 I'm glad they didn't show any flashback for most of the characters. It just shows how great the writing is since we were still able to understand their personalities through their actions and dialogue.
Exactly this!!!
I swear, that little girl is a paid 30 yr old veteran actress!
If it wasn't for her I could have survived this movie without crying.
can't help but cry every time. one of the best movies ever, zombie or otherwise.
I just watched a reaction to this right before this one and I cried again. Every time.
As a Korean, I would recommend you guys 'Wailing', it is arguably the most decent occult film in Korea
I second that!
Thank you!!!!! So good, to me way better than Busan but got overshadowed because of Busan’s zombie theme.
@@IveBeenChris I also recommend you to watch 'Burning', 2018 movie starring Steven Yeun
곡성이죠? 저 이거 인생작이예요
@@이정인-m5w Burning is more of a thriller but it’s a masterpiece. My favourite film out of Korea
That’s what I thought! I hope it is true because he is a great actor. Just finished watching Goblin and really liked him in that as well.
And every time I watch this movie I can’t get that out of my head.
i’m glad you guys watched this movie,i feel like it’s one of the best zombies movies ever made, love your guys video
Until the end when he died which was so pointless. Ruined the film. Instead of a 9 out of 10 it gets a 5 out of 10 due to terrible ending
Edward Du Feu the ending is realistic. The “main character” isn’t always going to survive solely because he’s the main character of his own story
@@bluejaysforever3627 the dad dying made this movie what it is..
@@octaviablackthorn9 Its a zombie film realism went out of the window day 1 of writing the script. Just made the whole film feel a waste of time for me. If it was a film based in real life circumstances i get realistic ending sometimes sure, this did not work thou.
@@lo_Ovung Agreed a film with a terrible ending
man, watching this reaction is a double edged sword, I've cried ENOUGH at this movie dang it! LOL
fun fact!
Her cry just hits different now that I'm a father.
wow.. congrats being a father!
That Badass Guy the MVP of this Movie, is Don Lee and he becoming a bigger Name as soon as the Eternals get out. Im so glad for him.
Gong Yoo Is such a great actor. I hope we see more of him in S2 of Squid Game
korean actors are the best in the world, even their child actors are unbelievably good!
Fun fact:
Don Lee who plays Sang-hwa IS the person cast to play Gilgamesh in the Eternals!
I really like his character in the movie (might be my favorite) so im excited to see him in Eternals
The physical acting in this film is insanely superb!!!
If this is you entering the Korean movies world then I would highly suggest watching "Ode to My Father" and "A Taxi Driver" these two movies will drain you emotionally and for sure be one of the best movies you've ever watched.
A Taxi Driver had me crying three separate times on opening night. Just an incredible film.
@@KyleS3m3noff yess i agree

If you don't watch this, you don't know Korean movies
@@coroanegra5761 they're not on Netflix everywhere. Not a single one of those is on Netflix Australia. Which is a shame, because if they were I would be demanding everyone I know watches The Man From Nowhere.
Best child actress ever, i cant watch her singing in the tunnel because ill sob everytime even thinking bout it makes me tear up
As far as I am concerned this is one of the greatest zombie movies ever made. It's so well made and captures the social commentary aspect the old George R Romero films had that most modern ones lack now days.
this is my absolute favorite zombie movie because it epitomizes what zombie movies are all about: the human condition in survival situations. you are so immediately connected to these characters that even the two older sisters, when they are in danger, you feel anxiety even though we don't spend that much time with them. and yes, Su-An's actress is a beast lol when she cries, I cry.
3:38 he is the gilgamesh in Eternals 👍 Don Lee!!!!
Finally I've been waiting for this reaction. My favorite zombie film of all time. So much heart and emotion done right. The father learns so much messages. Its not abot yourself. But its about everyone when your and theirs life is on the line.
I saw this movie last year and I was amazed at how good it was. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was scary and emotional at the end.
This is one of my favorite zombie movies ever. The kid actress did such a great job, I always cry at that scene when her dad leaves her on the train. And I'm such a big fan of Gong Yoo!
That main dude is a fantastic actor... His eyes speaks a tonne...
Watched this a few weeks back for the first time and this is easily my favourite zombie movie, ma dong-seok/don lee is such a beast and love how the zombies lead with their heads whwn they move
"WHO IS THIS GUY!? HE'S AMAZING!!!"
Greg channeling everybody's reaction towards the MVP in the blue shirt xD. He's no contest the best character in the movie.
Blue coat, but yeah.
This is probably one of the best zombie movies made...
As many mentioned before Gong Yoo is a versatile actor. His acting here is compared to Jimmy Stewart but the actor is not afraid to do comedic roles. Some of the other series he's done are ridiculously funny and heartbreaking at the same time.
Ma Dong Seok is one of my favorite actors ever. i watch anything he’s in and I don’t think i’ve been disappointed yet
15 minutes into your reaction. I had to pause and watch the whole movie. Now I'm back and I'm telling you... I am a massive fan of Korean media. From squid game, to Train to Busan to Kingdom... they really know how to make good TV
The dad (Gong Yoo) is the recruiter in Squid Game, in case you missed it. And yes, I recommend the series "Kingdom" too!
they said it at the beginning
lee jung jae 배우의 신세계(New World)도 추천해요.
곡성(The Wailing)은 완전 추천입니다!!
I like how I’ve seen people reacting to squid game saying “It’s the guy from train to busan “
But you guys are watching Train to busan and said “It’s the guy from squid game” 🤣🤣🤣
I am so happy you guys are watching us! This ended up being one of my favorite zombie movies of all time!
I agree. I saw the devil will always be one of the best psycho thriller out there. Such a great movie to watch
me tooooooo🤟🤟
This movie was fucking fantastic and I’m SO HAPPY you guys have finally decided to tune in and watch it
I watched this movie after watching Parasite because I was drawn to Korean movies and was thrilled how fast it got into the action. It was just non-stop and so good! IF you haven't seen it, you need to watch Alive as well. It's another Korean zombie movie.
When Greg cries I cry.
"Who is this guy? Hes a beast!"
Me: He is Gilgamesh
The best Zombie Movie ever. Period
Y’all should watch “Sweet Home”, another fun Korean horror/drama and I think it’s somewhat of a monster of the week format would lend itself well to a weekly reaction
Yes! Love this series!
it was on my watchlist, but seeing in the trailer the monster looks very CGI-ish I never got to start watching it lol
@@tenerife_sea the monster CGI is fairly hit or miss, but it’s still worth a watch imo. Lots of tension, cool monster designs/concepts and somewhat of an ensemble cast of intriguing characters
One of the most heartbreaking zombie movies I’ve ever encountered…
If you're planning to watch Peninsula, it's more like a different story/movie than a sequel to Train to Busan imo (so don't expect to see some familiar faces xd)
Well it's still Korea a couple months after what happend in the first one with a whole new set of characters
@@frxfrx8237 You are probably right. I watched it at home and I couldn't finish the movie.
The big guy's name is Dong Lee. He is a main character in upcoming Marvel movie "ETERNALS"✨️
Old guy is basically what MC would have become if the movie didn't happen.
@@kyriansalvar247 Kind of. What actually made him change was his daughter. If he didn't have his daughter, he would of been the same guy regardless. His daughter is the only difference.
My favorite were all the people who sacrificed and the main guy
He's a great antagonist cause I genuinely hated him with a burning passion. Caused so much crap with with "self preservation tactics" Good point about him and the MC though
@@nolanlehman6392 I didn't hate him. Like I said, he was my favorite. I want to make a zombie movie with a character like him as protagonist.
I watched this for the first time in a film class and i was crying so hard I had to step out it was embarassing but the movie is SO GOOD
Very surprises you haven't seen this yet, but glad to be able to see your reaction to this masterpiece.
23:29 The contact name “수안엄마” actually means “Su-an's Mom”, not ex-wife. 😂
It's funny you guys were like "Hey, it's the guy from Squid Game!" because the first time I watched Squid Game I was like "Hey, it's the guy from Train to Busan!" lmao. I don't think a zombie movie has ever made me cry as much as this one. They did such a great job making you fall in love with the characters. The animated prequel "Seoul Station" is pretty good. I hope you guys check it out some time.
