Just wanted to thank you guys for all the wonderful videos. I have a 0 Ctrl and 0 Coast, with a Strega on order. The content of your tutorials is always clear, concise and above all, inspirational. Thank you; they’re very much appreciated.
This might be Tony’s greatest work yet. It opens up a whole new work of sonic possibilities that have always been there but not always accessible. Well done.
The Strega is so much fun to experiment with, even if you have little or no idea as to what you’re doing! As you learn to predict what the controls do, you may actually have an idea what’s going to happen when you twist a knob or patch something up, but I find it’s more fun just to be surprised by Strega. What an awesome creation you guys made with this one!
I came here because I just ordered a 0-ctrl just because I wanted to get a better idea of how to use it before it arrives. Strangely enough I must have watched this before I bought my Strega because I just gained some new insight into how the Strega works when you explained it.
Dear Make Noise, Please stop making things I can’t afford but desperately want. One day I’ll get my shit together and become a reviewer just so I can beg to put the stuff you make that I can’t afford into my set up. In all seriousness, I love everything you guys are doing with these small form factor semi modular gear. My wife says no modular, these are my work around for that. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next! Love, -Hitachi
Yr wife understands the hidden value of limitations ;) This is why I don't plunge into a fully modular. I am waiting for retirement ha ha Have fun w your semi-modules when you sneak them in ;)
Your tutorials and patching ideas are always sO helpful. Just got word that my STREGA is on it's way and will be in my hands a few days from now! Such a wonderfully unique instrument~ Can't wait to play it + patch it into my Ø-CTRL as well as the Ø-COAST...🔥🙉💥🤙
At 5:50 I was totally sold. But I already got my Strega at Three Waves in NJ the other day, I’m just here looking for tips (and there isn’t anyone better than Walker to get inspiration from). I know this is an absurdly deep topic, but it would be interesting to understand (layman’s terms) when you make a cool patch, what is happening on an electronic level. (What the signal starts as, and ends as). I know, keep dreaming. Thanks for the great new instrument and cheers to Tony and Kelly.
Love the products... I clicked the video for the sequencing. That doesnt happen until about 4:05 and with a question "should we start sequencing?". Uh, yeah, that would have been nice about 4 mins ago.
Looking into getting synths as a drummer to diversify sound but don’t know where to source sound going into the 0 noise. Is this something you sample and run through the synth? Please let me knoe
I’m just discovering these amazing instruments and love what Make Noise has created. With the trio 0-coast/0-ctrl/Strega, I am wondering how Make Noise intended them to be connected for best performance. Obviously with so many patch points, there are infinite ways to route signals But overall, should I run the final output of the Strega into the 0-coast or vice versa? Then the 0-ctrl I imagine can sequence any given parameters from either device?
there is definitely something alchemical going on 😹, the strega actually gets *very* warm while running, while the 0-coast and 0-ctrl are ice cold...makes no sense, but fantastic sounds coming out nonetheless...
I watched AC's initial video with Sonicstate, and heard nothing I liked. This is the first video where it has actually started to sound like something I might want. Seems it really does depend on the person playing it.
i have found that it is very difficult to demonstrate in a "universal" way, which is one reason that we took a little break from content for awhile to let others show how they were using it. very much looking forward to hearing it in the wild now that people are starting to receive them! -W
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Yeah, agreed. Everyone makes it their own, in their own way. It's just so new that the content is still minimal, and his style is not my style. I need to see and hear it from others before I make a decision to buy it. Here on YT, we've still seen very little of it.
We just shipped some 0-CTRL last week, and will continue making them! Keep an eye out at your store. Sorry for the delays that we have had over the past year.
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC I hope my local vendor gets this message, He told me "No more until 2nd quarter." I'll ask him again. I got the 0-Coast about 5-6 weeks ago, the 0-Ctrl is next on my list, but... I'm just getting that answer. Did you happen to send any out to Korea?
curious about the dual power you have there. couldn't find something like that for sale. do you recommend one? would it work equally well for a 0-coast and 0-cntrl? Thanks!!
It's a Strega adapter with an included splitter. The 0-Coast/CTRL adapters are not powerful enough to power multiple units. Just wished they used a better quality delay chip, yet had a distortion circuit so you had more control. The pt2399 is known for its low quality and low price. Yet this thing is $600...hmmm.
Strega is oriented around characteristics stemming from the limitations of the chip. There are three of them in the instrument, each with its own unique filtering and feedback paths. There are ways to saturate and distort the circuit at various points in the signal chain - Tony took inspiration for this behavior from the EMS Synthi, a favorite synth of Alessandro's. Alessandro has a particular ear for small hidden characteristics of synthesizer circuits that he can latch onto and use to create wonders. Strega could be seen as an attempt to create an entire instrument made of those little characteristics. All that said, if you do not think the sound and interface and experience of Strega is worth the price to you, then I would recommend against buying one :)
I’m obsessed with the percussive tones coming out of that blend patch 🔥🔥🔥

Now I finally I‘ve got my Strega. Waited for about 10 months.. next days I‘ll fly away. 😍😍😍 ( Walker, you‘re the best!)

I ordered a strega/0-ctrl on black friday (patiently awaiting delivery) - but the Strega looks like a Boxing Day target as well. Fantastic.
Gorgeous drones, and almost a Trans Europe Express vibe there with the beats!
Thanks!

This thing is insane... just massive enveloping sounds from both the oscillator and the delay half. Really well done.

Dynamic output from 0-Coast to Strega Ext In is the typical patch when using them together, since 0-Coast is much more limited as a processor.
Witchy sequence so spooky 🖤
I would love a future video to demonstrate using the "external substance in"
That’s probably the next video ⚡️

The Strega comes with its own power cable that can also power a 0-CTRL or 0-Coast at the same time.

Interesting beast, but I still don’t think it’s for me- not least because there are years’ worth of exploration remaining in the 0-Coast/CTRL combo.
Can the 0-CTRL be cascaded with an other 0-CTRL to make longer sequences?
