    One of my favorite tricks for that “off-kilter lofi” feel is to patch an envelope follower into a delay time

    These are wonderful Andrew! Thank you. I love the plucky nature of those patches in the first half. Always enjoy your positivity and lightheartedness. The chaos patch is off the chain man. Full on Divine action. Wild and kooky. I’ve been messing around on the trio for over a year and it just never stops…so many freakishly delightful goodies. The FM 0-coast beat is classic. Taking it to the outer limits. Whoa! Like you said. Hehehe. Freeky deeky subharmonic patch! Super fun and great ideas. Thanks man.

    Doooooooood! I cannot believe how long it took me to stumble on this. More strange, weird patching is exactly what I crave.
    Please feel encouraged to just record and publish whatever patching experiments you feel like making. Doesn't need the entire YT video production treatment.
    If you're making mud pies, show the other nerds. We want to see, and share the enthusiasm too.
    Cheers.

    I do love how well these three work together for such a unique sonic world... they're very cohesive in their aggressively experiential sound. And your patching is pulling some really cool things out of them! A really cool contained series!

    Sweeet bro. Wouldnt have expected this. I love my trio on a sunday afternoon, under the pergola with a beer and sunshine. They are amazing. With all the modular gear you have, you still took time out for these machines. Cheers for that. 👍

    I just know how much fun it has to be to mess with this. Recently, I found out about the time modulation on ableton's stock delay and I haven't had so much fun in a while.
    10/10 can recommend messing with ableton's delay

    Very fun! Thanks for sharing these... I don't yet have a Strega, but I love the idea of playing with a similar sound/rhythm on the 0-Coast (or perhaps the Microvolt). I really love the 0-CTRL...
    That sound at 8:04 was almost electric guitar like... (But better since electric guitars suck 😛)

    Have this setup. They are inspirational machines and perfect tools by themself for just sitting down and make a dark drone on a rainy day. But they are defently not for everyone. Its hard to implement them in "happy" songs and everything you put through sounds kind of sad or distorted.

    Love these machines! I'm only missing the 0 coast from this set. I really enjoying playing around with this kind of gear for fun, but I'd love to hear how someone like Andrew might incorporate this kind of gear into a more standard kind of song structure too. I really want to do more to incorporate my semi modular gear into my music.

      Usually just recording cool stuff and using it in Ableton! I do wish these were more easily rackable as Eurorack modules because I find it smoother to patch within a single system and then I’d more often take things even further with them

    • @elementlab41
      @elementlab41 Год назад +2

      @@suturesound Totally get it. I keep them in a three-tiered easel and let them be their own thing. I love my shared system, but there's something really special work with their special limitations. Oh, I also told Make Noise I wanted you do a track for their next Musica Strega compilation. Thanks again for the awesome patch ideas. Super inspiring.

      @@suturesound I love how you talk about using the 0 ctrl to intuitively find grooves, and I also have found that really rewarding. Do you have any tips for how to then record that into ableton and build on top of that groove? I’ve found a bit challenging when working with unsynced 0 ctrl rhythms

    ...I wish I could see you once actually patching Make Noise gear, but I don't believe you could do it...this is all patched by someone who appreciates noise and can actually sound design...you cannot! this video is terrible, I'd recommend you'd be better off if you just play with presets...
