- Hey there, RC Fam! Welcome back to the channel. In today’s video, I’m gonna walk you through how to break in an RC brushed motor and score some extra speed-for free! 🚗💨 There are plenty of ways to do this, but I’m gonna share my personal favorite, which I think is the simplest. Of course, feel free to choose whichever method suits you best. Thanks for tuning in-you’re all legends! 🙌🎉
the reason we break motors in under water is to increase the contact patch of the brushes on the stator, the motor being faster isn't true the motor is just running more efficient than it could with out the brushes broken in. always use distilled water as tap can have too large of particulates.
Bro that was awesome i did not know this fantastic vid Vic look at those view number's i was shocked at the first jar well done nice work 👊
Thanks Mark, I found it to be the simplest way using things that we have at home, no power supply required. Thanks for watching, appreciated👍🏼
It does help to run a motor in , but not done it for years as I run on my own so the extra power not really needed.
I don't do any run in for stock silver can motor. I only did it for some of these 12T 550 motor that I got from RTR. They are great motor and sweet spot for any Tamiya build, hence looking after them and keep them for my next Tamiya build👍🏼. Thanks for watching, much appreciated🙏🏼
So useful method! Thanks! I subbed and will follow your new videos!
Thanks for the sub, appreciated🙏🏼

Awesome method. Thanks for showing
Thanks, thanks for watching, much appreciated🙏🏼
You can really see the graphite from the brushes in the water after you ran the motor for a bit. I have never taken the time to do this but I can tell it helps from your experiment. Nice work. 👍
Thanks, it does help. Ive only did it if I want to keep these RTR motor for my Tamiya build. These 12T motor are sweet spot for Tamiyas👍🏼
What kind of water did you use?
Just normal tap water👍🏼
@@MechanicallyFun always use distilled water when breaking in motors. been doing this for thirty years.
