Something that I believe is overlooked... mortally wounded bucks that are not recovered, result in the hunter continuing to hunt, and maybe harvesting or wounding an additional deer. Sometimes hunters make "bad" shots. No ethical hunter wants to, but unfortunately it happens. Putting forth the effort and successfully recovering the animal will eliminate additional mortality, and the result is a bigger, more mature herd. Hats off to this service and others like it!

A bit far back, you say? A bit far back is a liver shot. An almost sphincter shot like this is WAY far back! 😅

I realize that these things happen. But you can also lessen the chances by being more selective with your shot and not shooting through small holes with limbs at bad angles. Angles are everything in archery.

Ky. Department of Fish and Wildlife has discussed drone use in a couple of meetings so far. I would expect it to also be on their next quarterly meeting agenda. So far from what I've seen they are proposing there will be an exemption that allows drone use for recovery on private lands but, will be illegal to use them on any WMAs or department managed lands. They are also discussing making cell trail cams illegal on WMAs. Last time I messaged the department directly and asked about any drone regulations they responded back there were none at that time but it was subject to change in the future. If anyone in Ky. wants to make sure it is a viable option to use to recover game make sure you contact your commissioner before the next meeting and let them know you support the use of drones. They also did mention in the last meeting something about your video showing you transporting the deer with the ag drone.

We’re licensed in Texas to do aerial wildlife management for exotics and predators. We still are not allowed to track game…we can’t even take pictures of them. As hunters we are expected to exhaust any means possible to recover a resource, why are we excluding drones from our toolset? We work a lot with dog trackers who often call on us to help when their dogs can’t get on a trail and we have to turn them away, it’s ridiculous.

The hunters I know are very respectful, and thankful for the opportunity God has provided them to appreciate such a magnificent animal, while providing food for their family. You should have a flat rate charge, however many dollars just for you to come out and then it should go up from there depending on time or really however you want to price it. Good work isn’t cheap and cheap work isn’t good. We’ve all heard it so don’t be afraid to price a little high, I normally don’t question the higher price because they always seem to be more professional, on time, etc.

they do have a flat rate $450.00 each call out and a additional $100.00 successful recovery rate additional charge as well on their web site .I was asking what his personal number of calls were because a $14,000 investment needs a specific number of calls to pay for the business on a operator level . So by their site prices it takes 31 calls and payment to just pay for the drone package they offer that is not covering the hundreds of dollars in fuel or gasoline the generator to charge batteries on the go or paying yourself any sort of wages . So it could take 50 to 70- calls depending on distance driven to even start to pay the operators .That's why the number of calls is important and Why I asked .

Some Mike infractions that put Hunters and Legit Drone users in Jeopardy
      1. Infomercial Mike flies above the 400' limit. When called on it he gave some lame excuse that he has to fly in hills and that the general public just doesn't understand. Then why did he start cropping/blurring the altitude info out of his videos? The proof is in the pudding and the controllers SD card. Most of the Kool-aid drinkers on here don't know enough about drones to pick up on things. Watch the last clickbait video and you will see the info blurred out on the drone controller that Infomercial Mike ahas in his hands.
      Case closed.
      2. Infomercial Mike has a video on his RUclips Channel that displays a hunter walking around the woods with a crossbow well beyond legal shooting hours. One of Mike's Toadies explained that this was okay, because there was not a "bolt" in the crossbow. Pure Genius.
      3. Infomercial Mike constantly drives around Amish Country Ohio looking at the camera and taking his hands off the wheel. This is reckless driving. Lots of buggies and bicycles on those roads. Video proof in a lot of videos. Easy to write a citation and enough evidence for his liability insurance underwriters to raise his rates or drop him.
      4. Infomercial Mike gave himself the super important job of "Certifying" Drone Pilots. It's right there on his find a pilot map. DDR Certified Drone Pilot. Quite hilarious. Those yahoos over at Infomercial Mike's Spinoff (Drone Pet Recovery) have Infomercial Mike purchased drones falling out of the sky a lot. More video evidence for the underwriters.
